Quila house is an awesome piece of history standing right next to the banks of Ganga river. It is one of the few still functional private collection museums in India. It is a must visit trip if you are ever in Patna or around. You have to take an appointment though so call them up beforehand for smooth sailing. Nevertheless nature and history make a unique combination at this place. Dont miss.

A must visit for everyone.Since it is a private museum, it is required to take a prior appointment to visit. The museum has some of the best collection of antiques that might not be in Patna museum or Bihar museum. The staffs are very cooperative and they guide through the whole collection. Overall, a memorable trip.

We went from exhibition road patna, to quila house, by ola, and it was difficult to reach there because nobody knows quila house there and the cab driver was just not interested in following google map to reach there. The place is in a very far off difficult to reach area. And after reaching there we were not allowed inside because ITS A PRIVATE MEUSUEM . Turns out we have to take permission for visit from dak bunglow area patna, which is extremely far. Nowhere in google it was mentioned that is its a private meusuem, we just wasted 700 rs. in going there and coming back.

Quila House is an excellent destination for those who are connoisseur of art and have an appetite for history. It is strategically positioned on the banks of river Ganga which provides an excellent serene backdrop. To talk about collection of artwork, it possesses myriad hues of European, Asian and Indian art work ranging from stone, metal, ivory ,porcelain and wooden artifacts and antique pieces. Most astonishing of the collection is the celadon plates from China famed to change colour and crack when served poisoned food. The French, German, English and Chinese porcelain collection and furniture are marvels of this personal collection which is well taken care and exhibited by the Jalan family. Mr Aditya and Ms Kanak Jalan take pleasure in hosting visiting teams and personally explain the details of the exhibit which denotes the passion and dedication to the enviable legacy they carry with humility..

In perfect harmony with the shining streaming Ganges skirting its shores, this monumental architecture is nestled serenely in the warmth and grandeur of the traditionally entwined family of Patna city, with over a century old bondage to the soil of Bihar.Having had the privilege of spending quality time at the Quila alongwith the Jalan Family, me and my children till today remain in awe and admiration of the pieces of history painstakingly collected from around the globe by a single man and preserved by Balla bhai and family each piece is priceless timeless and irreplaceable.. and so beautiful and sublime. No wonder the Quila has a list so long of dignitaries presidents prime ministers and all who have donned the corridors of this marvel.I could go on and on...but i leave with only one more message...please dont miss out on the opportunity to visit this living piece of history when you are in Patna next!

I know the place its can be 💓 of Patna..Quila House is a private residential house on the banks of the Ganga river in the old town of Patna, in the state of Bihar, in northern India.Quila House has been home to five generations of the Jalan family since the site was bought by Dewan Bahadur Radha Krishna Jalan in 1919.The house is known for the collection of objets d’art and antiques that is a personal achievement of Radha Krishna Jalan’s. It is sometimes referred to as the Jalan Museum, but this is a misleading term, as the house is not a public building. Nevertheless the Jalan family are happy to welcome visitors by appointment or by invitation.
