This used to be my favorite Thai restaurant. But after we went back with the reopening recently, we were disappointed with the foods. The people are still very friendly and efficient in service, just the foods were not up to their own standard.Probably due to its low key reopening, the restaurant was only half full when we went there for lunch today( 7/13). Although there were only three servers waiting on the customers, the service was efficient and the foods came out fast.The food on the other hand was not too good. I don’t remember the foods tasted that bad. The two dishes we had, pad sew yew and pad Thai were too salty and too sweet. The chicken meat in the pad Thai was tough too. The only thing remained the same was their Tom yum gong soup, still delicious.I know it’s tough to hire back good cooks after the pandemic. I hope the restaurant will eventually get back on track with its food.

I really dont know much about this place, but the food was banging! I loved what I ordered to go (so did my mother). Unfortunately though, my meal was too salty, because of my diet restrictions. I cannot consume very much salt. Nevertheless, I would recommend this establishment. But, on the flip side of this compliment, it is a small restaurant for a large gathering, but ideal for a couple who want to dine in.

This is definitely one of the better Thai places Ive been too. The food was good and so was the service but they, just like most Thai restaurants, cant get the spicy levels right. I would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Strongly recommend it. President Thai is the best Thai restaurant. They are making all their dishes from scratch . So authentic, fresh, and delicious. I drove all the way to Pasadena to get my favorites. 30 plus minutes driving was worth it.

So I came here with my friends on a Friday night. The place was somewhat busy , we got seated fairly quickly since we had reservations.Service started out fine , until we finished our appetizers and was wondering where our waitress disappeared to .We seen her several times accommodating other tables , not us. I found it very strange and had to wave down someone who was picking up plates to call our waiter over .Another 10 mins and another waitress came and took our order .As our food came , our waitress still didn’t accommodate us , nobody even bothered to ask if everything was ok with our food or bother to fill our tea . This was the strangest service I’ve experienced. We were just like ghosts in that restaurant. We had to keep waving down the bus boys picking up plates . While sitting there we see our waitress with other tables not even glancing at us . Ridiculous service !Let me talk about the food now , the food was sub par and over priced .My friend had the ginger onion chicken and seemed to dislike it and she took only a few bites …. While my shrimp chicken pad Thai was super oily and just had no popping flavor . All I tasted in my dish was oil and tasteless chicken, shrimp and noodles . To be honest Banana Bay restaurant has the best pad Thai thus far and way better service. I did manage to take pics of the menu as they were under the glass on the tables.To sum everything up, service was awful, food overpriced and tasteless.I will not be coming here again…..

This restaurant is clean and has a very appealing ambience. The Thai atmosphere is pleasing and above all else, the food is great. My family loved it and I was able to find numerous dishes for my vegetarian diet.I highly recommend President Thai to all.

A lot of rave about this place. Good size portions for the price. Grab cake appetizer was delicious. Gave the Coconut shrimp soup a 6. Wasnt all that. But, like anything, you be the judge. Enjoy!

I’ve had better Thai food in the area. The food is okay but the customer service is HORRIBLE.Their employees see you standing there waiting but they ignore you until you interrupt them loudly to get their attention. This happened to me and three other customers.

The outside looks appealing, though the inside is one big brightly lit room with tables clustered closely together. Not a warm or cozy dinning space. Noisy boisterous bus boy greeted me, and immediately went to a table I didnt want to sit, all the while, making odd sounds. I asked to sit elsewhere, and he was quick to accommodate. Tables have glass tops and menus underneath. Only one side though. I asked for a complete menu. The restaurant only had one other table occupied, so they were not busy. Probably because it was 840pm on a Wed night. Service was quick. They have a wide variety of items on their menu. Prices are on the high side, but the portions are large. I ordered Panang Curry with vegetables and pork. I requested a side of limes and cilantro. I received lemons and cilantro. I asked why, and was told they dont have limes. I thought that was odd, considering they charge a lot more than most Thai restaurants and that its a Thai restaurant. I also ordered white rice and Thai Ice Tea. Everything tasted good. However, the size of each piece of meat and vegetable in my Panang Curry, were cut rather large. I had to eat each piece separately. A first! I prefer more bite size portions, so I can taste a mix of all the different items at once. Panang Curry is very flavorful, and theirs was very flavorful. The bill came to 31.00. Since it was close to closing time, they started to use chemicals to clean, and they were strong smelling. That ruined the last part of my dinning experience, so I asked for the bill. I may go back and try something different, but, the things I mentioned, mostly negative, will weigh against my desire to return.

I ordered the crab fried rice. We also had the pad see ew (shrimp) & egg rolls.Pad see ew: deliciousegg rolls: mehcrab fried rice: DISASTER!!I’ve had A LOT of American Thai food, unfortunately this was probably the worst crab fried rice I’ve ever had. Only have a pic of it because we didn’t finish it…I ALWAYS finish my food, even the so so food.Also given that we were told this was the best Thai food around we called ahead to try to make a reservation, were told “no reservations, first come first serve, we have plenty of tables.” So maybe 2hrs later we showed up, asked for table for 3 & were told to our shocking surprise “no dine-in, ONLY takeout.” The restaurant was empty only two ppl sitting down who appeared to be family of the restaurant.

The food here is good. However the service is almost non-existent. Food doesn’t come out together so some of our group were eating alone. They don’t check on drinks. After nearly 20 minutes we had to flag someone down to bring the check.So, if you have a lot of time on your hands and don’t mind continually flagging someone down, the food is good.

My brother in law hyped this place up after finishing up at the Arboretum. Honestly, the food is good. Im not sure about all the hype and raving that my brother in law gave it, but....I digress.Our table ordered a wide range of food from the papaya salad (seafood and non-seafood) to mango sticky rice. I think my favorite dish is hands down the sticky mango rice and second, the seafood papaya salad. There was the right amount of salty, sweet, spicy and lime flavor that papaya salad is known for. See of the other dishes were better at other places in my opinion. The Tom kha gai was a bit bland for my taste as well as the stuffed chicken wings.The most favorite thing here for me is the service. It is definitely top notch.The biggest downside is for sure the parking. There are about 30 spaces total. I kid you not.Of youre Im the area and feel like having Thai, this might be the place you need to come check out.

This is my go to spot for Thai. Been here many times and always pleased with the food. They have lots of dish options and the desserts are great. Each time I come here I always order the coconut ice cream. Its so good and homemade.

I frequent this marvelous restaurant once a month since I love the special air that is unique to this place. The crew is exceptionally helpful and well trained. The service is pretty fast. Needless to say, the food you eat is first-rate. I have been there often and I was always satisfied. The pay is honest. I suggest this restaurant to to everybody.

This is one my fav place for thai food. Their lemon steamed is so good and also the pompano fish. I eat a lot fish and they are one of the thai restaurant that has fish dish as their specialty. I would also highly recommended to get thai fish chili sauce with it.Other good dish they have is the tom yum and the pad thai. The best part is you can customized how spicy it will be. I will also go for the mango sticky rice for dessertI have been coming here since 5 years ago and for dine in usually there will be ling line on weekend. Also, i think the service is better back then, last time i had dine is, they keep giving impression that they want to clean the table and was in hurry to have us finish our meal which is not that pleasant experience. Other than that, they have quite big parking but still pack most of the time.

My favorite Thai restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley! My family and I have been regular customers of this establishment since I was in elementary school. The staff is always friendly and welcoming everytime you dine here. You cant go wrong with any of the food selection because Ive never had a negative experience with any of the menu items.Due to the many times Ive been here, my family has befriended the owner, Jeff. Once in a while hesll be there when we dine and hell always take care of us by providing desserts. We dont expect it from him but we appreciate his hospitality nonetheless. He shared that a lot, if not all, of his dining furniture was imported from Thailand. If I remember correctly, the tree outside by the end of the parking lot was also shipped from Thailand.If youve never noticed, all the servers are Thai but none of the bussers are. Thats just a side observation.

Cant say enough good things about this place. Food is always flavorful and the service is incredible. Id say go during the week and get there early, as it can get pretty crowded along with very limited parking. My favorites are the red curry and spicy soft shelled crab.

If you are hungry, dont come here. It will take you 30 minutes to wait, and then serve you 3 dishes at the same time. Unless you order appetizer, maybe it will faster. The food is fine 4/5. Spicy soft crab was not crispy which flour was too much, and it is a little bit too salty. Fried rice and green curry were normal, nothing special but still good.

Been a patron of President Thai over 29 years. You might say I like it...My husband Chris and I are at this establishment when it was a very very small building back in 1992. We allwayz enjoyed the kind and efficient service we recieved there. Great Food fixed to your preferences

What this place has done during this pandemic is to be appreciated. Basically only offering takeout, their food delivery app organization is something to be appreciated. Theyre always so busy but very well run.Well done President Thai management and staff.

We arrived 1/2 an hour before closing and we were immediately seated. Customer service was nice and our meal was fresh and hot. We ordered 3 dishes (pad see ew with chicken, Chinese broccoli crispy pork, and seafood noodle soup), hot tea, and a Thai Tea. Our total was $52. Not bad. The restaurant appears to be clean and theres plenty of parking in the parking lot and out curbside.

Every year I take my husband to a new Thai restaurant for his birthday. So we drove from OC to Pasadena for President Thai just for takeout because COVID.It was ok. The service was great. Really nice and friendly.However, the food was 🤷‍♀️. The papaya salad was just ok and unfortunately this is a Thai dish my husband always looks forward to. Larb was ok but nothing to write home about. Also ordered panang but the curry was just way too sweet and missing a strong salty balance. The best thing we got was the crispy pork and Thai basil. The latter alone could be worth the drive had it not been overshadowed by everything else.Hmm, overall dont need to try again.

Foods good service poor but they can blame it on COVID-19. They only offer take out and it took more than hour.

I ordered food takeout to park sharing with my family, but there is no any fork or spoon inside. The staff didn’t even ask me if I needed. It’s really embarrassing situation. Please be really careful if you need cutlery.

President Thai has been a family favorite for ages!!! Its currently take out only, but the food is just as yummy as always.

One of my favorite dishes is the panang curry.

Lots of people here and not the cheapest but definitely decent taste and wonderful service even with so much of a crowd. They have a decent amount of space. If you have a large party make sure to call ahead and see what the situation is like. We sat outside on the side, no dogs unless it has a service vest and is a service dog.

Well established fine dining restaurant. Delicious selection of all things Thai and Asian. Currys are flavorful without being uber-spicy. Crab wontons, excellent.

Ive been to this place many times with large groups of people. They have excellent service and they are very attentive to us. The food is pretty good And I would say that it is authentic Asian food. It is not Americanized at all. I have been here on several occasions and every single time we had excellent service and we were all very happy with the service and food. Parking can be a little bit difficult depending on what time you come. They have excellent desserts and they have restrooms that you can use. The place is very clean and very very busy all the time.

This is the best Thai food I have ever had! The dishes are ample and the taste is incredible. The atmosphere is average but the good service and incredible food make up for it.

Excellent service. We went when it was the busiest time- during the holidays. They accommodated for our child guests so well even during the chaos. Their food was great. Among the top five Thai food Ive had. I would definitely go back if I have another chance.

Went for a business dinner on a weekday evening. The Initial looks was really impressive with Thai decorated theme. It looked like a busy restaurant for a weekday and started with a very slow service. It became further slow as time went by. The appetizer was good, but the main dish quality went down drastically.I ordered pork Massaman curry, surprisingly it came with rice noodles and with no rice. The taste was nowhere close to the true peanut taste of the curry. Each dish is actually too much for any one person to have.The fired noodle dishes also did not seem to be impressive. Altogether the ambiance does not give a true picture of the quality of food served.

I have been coming here for a while. The food is fantastic, very expensive, but Im willing to splurge every once in a while because of how good the food is.This most recent time, however, I placed my phone order and was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. I showed up 40 minutes later, only to be told it was going to be an additional 30 minutes before my food was going to be ready. Im absolutely livid. And sincerely plan on not coming again for a long time, if ever. I can find another Thai place with excellent food, better prices and better service.

West here on a recommendation. We loved this place! Place was packed when we arrived, but we were seated immediately. We all tried different orders and decided to share. Service was outstanding as well. Good prices as well. Cant wait to go back.

This place is my preferred one. I go to a lot of restaurants but here I constantly return again and again. The team is very receptive and the cuisine they offer is so flavorful. I never decline to have a decent meal in this place. I highly recommend this place.

Best thai food Ive ever had.

Man, I love me some President Thai. The food is very good and the menu is filled with many traditional dishes. I appreciate that some dishes have the heat turned up and theyre unapologetic about it.The pro tip here is, towards the end of your meal order a Papaya salad to go. Its even better after a night in the fridge.

The service is always good here and their food is tasty. They are a little on the pricey side but my coworkers enjoy eating here. I usually get their fried rice and its really good. However the one thing I dont understand is the offer fried rice, they offer chicken, but the dont offer chicken fried rice. It makes no sense as thats one of the easiest fried rices to make. I have had them special make it for me and its delicious, they should just add it to the menu.

I like many other this day ordered to go food on a busy day. When I went to pick up order 1.5 hours after order was placed it was not ready. About 10 people were also waiting for there order. Came back 1 hour later and still no order. Come back a third time 4 hours after order was placed and still no food. Was told food would be ready soon so I waited 20 minutes and asked again only to be told soon. Tried to cancel order in order to get refund but was told order was completed. So not only did I get charged for a nonexistent order but either the restaurant lied about making my order or they gave it to some one else. Still not resolved days later.

Ive been here several times and I love it. Its a bit on the pricey side but Ive never had a bad experience with the food or the service. They have good portions and a wide variety of dishes to choose from. I love their fried calamari and crab dishes as well as their pad thai and fried rices. It has sort of a small home feel since the restaurant isnt very big. You can sit outside if you want.Parking is small and gets crowded very quickly. You can park next door in the adjacent propertys parking but thats also small. Be careful when getting in and out of the lot!

The restaurant has plenty of parking, there is other parking at the building adjacent to the restaurant. The place is always busy, reservations are encouraged to make. I totally recommend the place. Ask staff for recommended dishes to try.
