I absolutely love this restaurant. Every dish I have ever had here has been beautifully plated and delicious. It is upscale dining but with a fast food price tag, doesnt get much better than that! I also love how I can go for a quick bite at lunch or for a longer fancy meal at dinner, great variety! My family and I will be returning whenever we are in the area.

I got introduced to Mantra from some business colleagues and was immediately impressed with the light contemporary feel with hints of Indias culture spread throughout. The lunch buffet had a wide range of fresh options, Indian favorites, with several vegetarian options as well. Worth a stop if you are interested in trying something new or list Indian cuisine as one of your favorites.

This is a decent spot. We went as a big group. It’s wasn’t as busy. We enjoyed the food. Their tikka platter was great and the deserts were tasty. Would probably try again if I was in the area.

I have had multiple parties at Mantra! To name a few, an engagement party for my son, a retirement party for myself, my niece’s wedding at an outside Venue and a number of poolside parties in my house!! They do a fantastic job of presentation and service and delectable food. I love the place. Pradeep does a great job!

I have been frequenting Mantra since it first opened. My experience each time has been amazing. The consistency and quality of the food has been excellent. The ambiance service and the menu has been prefect.

This place is located in a strip mall. The staff is very nice and helped explain the menu and gave me good recommendations .The food is very good. The spices ,and herbs the flavor is on point. I ordered the cheese and garlic Naan which came hot to the table and was full of flavor that was excellent. Very pleased with everything next time I gotta try some spicy things.

I have been to many restaurants in NYC and NJ, but my experience with Mantra Paramus has been excellent! Beautiful ambiance, excellent service and above all the food quality and presentation is beyond anyone’s expectation!

Favorite Indian restaurant around here. My hubby’s family has been dining here since the mid 90’s, when it was called Namaskar. They changed the name to Mantra about a decade or so ago but the menu pretty much remained the same until about a year ago, where they added a couple of new things. Although for this visit, the lamp chops seemed a bit off, it is my favorite (you do have to wait a lil longer when you order this but def worth the wait!). Their Rogan josh and biryani are also very excellent. Not my favorite, but if you want to try different dishes they do have a buffet for lunch hours (at least pre-covid). The service wasn’t per usual and we had to wait a while to get someone’s attention for refills but all in all it’s usually good service and a great place to try Indian food!

Best Indian Restaurant in the area. We moved here 4 years ago and we have tried many other places. But this is our go to. Flavor is consistent and fresh. Staff is friendly and attentive. Manager Sam has always welcome us like family. Thank you Mantra for your delicious Indian cuisine.

We used to be a fan of this place, but now it appears they’ve decreased their portion size while still charging what they used to. Tonight, we ordered a shrimp appetizer that was $11 and it was only two shrimp. We used to get the crab tikka masala, but it was replaced with the crab moilee. The original dish used to be served with quality lump crab meat, but now our dishes arrived with about 25% less and the crab was of poor quality. It had the consistency of tuna fish. Definitely not worth $28 a plate. The one thing that was still great was the quality of the cocktails, but you have to do better than that to keep your customers. $105 bill for one appetizer, two entrees and two cocktails would be fine if the quality was there, but sadly it wasn’t even close. I will not be returning

Food was good, service was good. Would’ve loved a bit more flavor and flexibility with the menu (“Can I have this salad with meat?” “Oh no. That’s a vegetarian dish.” Not “We don’t usually make it with meat - how about a side of chicken tikka masala?”).

Regular menu item become so blend its like close to boiled food no teste, just water down, been their many times but recent experience on take out was horrible hate to drive back n explain whats wrong with the food...... please keep up with your quality and have person who take order answer patiently and ask about the spice level...

I was pure Mantra fan and today I received portion of my curry 20% less and upon calling instead of helping valued customer they started arguing. I mean who does this ? I have never seen a restaurant cutting portions. Beware pick up and delivery customers do check your containers are fully filled.

Lovely place. Order from here frequently and always enjoy whatever is ordered. Food is made well and is always flavorful. Staff is courteous and helpful if youre not sure where to begin. Great atmosphere for dining and they do also offer Indian beer if youre looking to try something new, otherwise they do have a bar you can order from. Definitely give them a try if you want a good go at Indian food.

“ On my way back to Schenectady , i found this restaurant . We had ordered “lamb roganjosh” and naan . Menu was quite impressive but the food was regular and blend. We didn’t feel any spice in that. “ lamb roganjosh “which is supposed to have a taste of lamb and combination of spices , it was just tomato puree in which the cooked lamb was mixed. They have nice ambiance and great service but food authenticity is lost. Also, They should ask spice level”

I made online reservations for 1pm July 11 2021 to celebrate our anniversary. No one seemed to be aware of the reservation. A wedding party was booked in the same area. Their laughter, shouting and loud music made it impossible to have a conversation. We were looking forward to the first brunch buffet offering since the covid pandemic. In the past food has been excellent. We missed the buffet and were excited to see it being offered this weekend. Unfortunately it was a huge disppointment. The tandoori chicken very dry, masala chicken tough, lentils watery, dessert had clumps, etc. My husband spoke to the onsite manager. He explained the party had been booked. He was unable to deal with the noise. We have been a very steady customer before and after covid. Not anymore.

I love this place and the food is always amazing. Mamta, our server did a great job. I was happily surprised she used proper table etiquette to serve and remove the food and plates. In todays age there are few places where servers really know how to provide exceptional service. The delicious food was nicely complemented by impeccable service.

We came here on Valentine’s Day this year. They had a pre-fixe menu with an option for a wine pairing. We had lamb and lobster along with another few things. Everything was AWESOME! The staff was attentive, the manager was checking on the tables. Even the drinks were delicious they have a great lychee martini. Lastly, I enjoyed the ambiance. There’s a modern lounge when you enter. And a finely decorated dining room. Highly recommend for some Indian cuisine in a fine dining atmosphere.

We were craving some good quality indian food and I am glad we stopped at Mantra for it. As soon as you walk in you can the feel the positive energy and the ambiance is beautiful. Umar (our server) was nothing short of amazing. He was definitely on top of his game last night. His recommendations were top notch and didnt disappoint. We started off with the Chicken Lollipops and the Batar (his recommendation) which were beautifully presented and packed tremendous flavor. For our main dish we ordered the Shrimp Curry and the Duck Curry with Garlic Naan. They were absolutely amazing! They had just the right amount of kick (in my opinion) and also packed a ton of flavor. The portions were not too generous but expected when youre given high quality meals.

One of the finest Indian restaurants in the area. The quality of food and service are fabulous.We ordered Malaidar chura, Saag Paneer, stuffed Naan and Vegetarian Biryani. Everything was delicious. A Decent Night OutAs an alternative to the typical night out and to our customary celebratory dinner, my wife and I decided to eat Indian cuisine for the night of our seventeenth wedding anniversary. While there is certainly a great selection of eateries from which to choose, based upon the reviews we chose Mantra located in Paramus, New Jersey. Having had some exposure to Indian food in the past, I recommended for my wife to search online to read up on some of the more popular Indian dishes to prepare herself; this is a good idea, by the way, especially if youre a novice to the typical fare.Upon inspection of their site, I was impressed with the selection Mantra has to offer. Their menu doesnt disappoint. Our expectation of the restaurant vibe was high, and we were not surprised by the Ramsay-styled decor.Theres a chimney wall from floor to ceiling, separating the bar area from the dining space. The Maître D handles check-in (for our reservation), and he doubles as Coat Check Clerk. The lighting is elegant, and our server lights a table candle. We dressed the part, although attire is apparently not important; some folks wear sports team jerseys, sneakers, etc. Dont be fooled by the appearance, the restaurant is kid-friendly.If you ask for it, you get it - and expect to pay for every single thing the waiter brings, including bread. The naan isnt included; it costs $4.50 per basket of four pieces.Were given a choice of regular H2O or sparkling (Bolle from Italy). The bottle costs $7.00. If you order alcohol, be prepared to pay through the nose. My wife orders a coconut martini for $12.00.We order appetizers, and theyre delicious. I order Dal Shorba, a lentil soup, and its fantastic for $5.95. My wife orders a delicious and recommended cauliflower, called Lassuni Gobhi for $9.95; it has a good amount of spice and is a pleasant warm-up (so to speak) for anything else wed order as an entree.For the mains we order the Mixed Grill. At $21.95 its a good choice for the novice. I order the Andhraa Goat for $20.95. Basmati rice comes with mine, but we order a side of lemon rice for the mixed entree for an additional cost of $6.95. We feel the order should have come with the choice of rice.By the time the dessert option comes, Im conservative and order a $4.00 espresso. My wife orders a Kulfi Trio of three ice cream scoops for $7.00. The frozen treat reminds me of a gelato from ShopRite.All in all, with tax and tip were in it for $122.90. Although, our waiter did make a good recommendation for appetizer and was spot-on with the amount of spice in the goat dish.Would you recommend a customer to order anything in particular?Of course I was attracted to the mere fact that this restaurant serves goat. We have been going to Mantra for almost 18 years when it was Namaskar..and we always loved their fusion of Indian and American Cuisine. Just to satisfy both the East and the western palates. It was amazing, all their different versions of appetizers and main courses , not totally I ndian, but Indian enough to satisfy our palates and come back for more.But last night my husband and I went there to celebrate our anniversary. We found a drastic change in the cuisine. It tasted sweet and not really enough spiced up.

They did a pretty great job of accommodating outdoor seating and making it a good experience. The owner is a wonderful woman and takes great care of the guests! This was our first time eating out amidst this pandemic and it was a very positive experience. Thanks a lot! Oh and most importantly the food is maybe even better than it used to be!

This place has an amazing ambiance, helpful and attentive staff, and delicious food & drinns.For our food, we tried the Lassuni Gobhi (not pictured), the Garlic Naan, the Lassuni Chicken, the Lamb Kalimiri, the Mango Rasmalai, and the Saffron Creme Brulee. We ordered the main dishes medium heat, and they were so delicious with the naan. Everything was superbly cooked and had amazing flavor / spice combinations. I found the chicken was spicier than the lamb, but both were amazing. Perfect for sharing between people!For our drinks we tried the Love Potion martini, a Lychee Martini, and multiple glasses of the Masala Chai Tea. All three were very good, the L.P. was sweet and tasty, the Lychee was fresh, and the tea was so delicious!Cant wait to go again!!

Had a reservation for a group of 5 friends and still had to wait even though the place was empty. Waiter came and walked past us then looked at us like hello arent you gonna follow me we were so confused. We got put in the back of the restaurant and then ignored for like 10 mins. Nobody asked us for drinks or anything. We had to flag somebody down to get our drinks and appetizers in. Then about 15mins later a large family came in and sat next to us. They were immediately given water and service. Idk if they were family but it was very upsetting. Then we got our drinks and appetizers and the drinks were horrible, two of us sent ours back it was so bad. Next we had to wait some more to order our food because nobody was checking our table. Finally when the waiter comes the large family next to us has already been given their dinner. We get our orders in and have to wait about 30 more mins. We were staving just looking at the large group next to us eating and talking to the waiters who are ignoring us. Finally we get our food and they give us 2 small bowls of rice to share with our whole group of 5. So then when we asked for another we have to wait again. Finally we start eating after about an hour of being there and the food was TERRIBLE. Ive had Indian food many times and I was excited to show my friends whove never had it before, something different, but it was the WORST food Ive ever had. Idk why but nothing was seasoned, like no salt, no pepper, no basic ingredients. The rice was the worst of all! One of my friends refused to eat it and the cook had to come out and apologize which was so awful and awkward Ive never had that experience. My friend then asked why the large group/ family next to us received better and quicker service and we were told oh they call like 2 weeks to a month in advance. So they gave you guys their full order a month ago and thats why we were ignored 🤔 make it make sense. In the end we ended up paying over $200 for food none of us finished, for drinks none of us finished, for water we didnt ask for, and with an additional 18% gratuity with terrible service. The waiter had such a bad attitude and didnt even come back to the table after a while. I will NEVER come back here again 😒 🙅🏾‍♀️

I am an individual who with my partner prior to the Pandemic have dined out nearly everyday of the year for the past 35 years entertaining all kinds and levels of cuisine in all parts of the world. In my opinion, Mantra is not only simply the best Indian fusion restaurant that I am aware of in Jersey, it is likely one of the best and finest restaurants in Jersey period!!! From the service to the outstanding quality and presentation of the cuisine, I can honestly say, Mantra will never disappoint.

Having dined here before, I came here to celebrate my anniversary. Wanted someplace local, nice environment and good food. We made reservations via open table and were immediately seated. Our server asked how we were and if we were celebrating anything. When we told him he immediately made it his mission to ensure we had a great time. He took our drink orders, we received complimentary soup and he made sure we took our time and were paced in a way that allowed us to talk, and enjoy the dining experience. The food was great and the service was even better. I always consider Mantra when its time to dine out. I will absolutely return.

Mantra did such an amazing job at all our events. We are so thankful to the wonderful staff and Pradeep & Chef Arnal for making our week so special and each event so unique and creative. Mantra catered our wedding shower, mehendi, and reception. The creativity was outstanding with the live stations and presentation. Pradeep & Chef Arnal were communicative, flexible, and handled everything for us. We had our reception in the Mantra parking lot and the staff worked extremely hard at making this event feel so special and you couldnt tell you were in a parking lot! A special shoutout to Umer, Sai, Mamta, Godson, and Chirag for making this wedding feel like their own and joining us on the dancefloor. By the end of the week all of our guests became friends with the wonderful Mantra staff.

I cant believe Ive never been here before! I stay close by and see this restaurant when I go on route 4! Anyway, yesterday I went there with my mom. We were so pleasantly surprised. Great ambience, great music selection, great service, and most of all, tasty food. I would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!

I came here for lunch at 2:30 pm. People still were in eating and the buffet was there. The manager said we are closed! If you want you can only take a box to eat outside. I told him will be quick .. I have been going to this place for the last couple of years..His response was no!! I told him fine.. will take it in a box, but can I eat it at the bar area, since the owner had agreed before?He was was mad and started yelling She meant the owner doesnt make the decision and I run this place so either you take the box or leave!!!I told him, I have been in this business for years and this is not the way to handle such a business, I hope the owner of this business is aware of your attitudes.He told me to get out of the restaurant! I was literally kicked out of this restaurant.

I was very much looking forward to trying the modern Indian food at mantra. We ordered rhw asparagus malai kofta, saffron Paneer Tikka, kalonji Bhindi dish. Unfortunately all three not only disappointed but were no where close to how they are described on their menu. The kofta had no asparagus, the Bhindi was just deep fried frozen okra, and the Paneer Tikka was literally 3 pieces of Paneer doused in red food coloring with no saffron flavor or taste. To summarize, its just over-marketed indian food with nothing special about it.

First time placed order for pick at this horrible restaurant this food smells like it’s been sitting for days horrible taste to it and less portion than any other restaurant. I normally get food from jersey City or tandoori chef in Hackensack. I told theme about portion I received and price they’re charging is ridiculous. Manger has bad attitude who needs to learn how to speak to customer if you don’t like what you do for living simply find another job. If you want to DONATE OR THROW AWAY YOUR MONEY visit this restaurant.

I’ve been to Mantras before and always felt it was okay Indian food for a very expensive price. The restaurant makes everything look high end except for the quality of the food. I don’t mind going there once in a while to feel elegant but whenever I leave my stomach is unsatisfied. Yesterday my Parents went there and ordered Goat. They had the worst experience ever. The Goat wasn’t authentic and looked and tasted terrible. Also she was mad that they charged so much money for garbage food. My mother also had to go to the doctor because she got food poisoning. That’s Mantras! I hope your Happy.

Recently visited Mantra and have to say I was very impressed. Not only by the food, but the service as well as the atmosphere. There was a live jazz band playing in the bar area and could be heard throughout the restaurant. The food was very tasty and among the best Indian I have had in the area.

Enjoying food at this place for quite some time- never noticed earlier, this place adds 18% service charge if you are a party of 4 and then another service charge on the total bill. What a great way to make money!!!Utterly disappointed....Edit: Thank you for pointing out my inadvertent mistake. I should have added the numbers up before posting the food receipt. As mentioned earlier, we enjoy the food and ambiance here unlike most other places. Changing my rating to 5 stars for both the above reasons.

I ordered online and I accidentally ordered the wrong thing so I called and the assistant manager answered and explained to me what I ordered. He told me that if I didnt like it hed take care of it. Ordered through DoorDash.The dishes were extremely hot (spicy) and we were unable to eat. The menu did not specify that the dishes we ordered were hot (spicy). Called the restaurant and they said I had to specify that I wanted my food prepared mild in flavor. Manager claimed that all Indian food is HOT (spicy) and said he couldn’t do anything for us.Doordash does offer the option to request this in ordering process. I am disappointed in the restaurant for their poor customer service and not specifying in their menu that a dish is very spicy (hot). And NO not all Indian food is SPICY HOT 🥵

Did a sweet 16 here. They have a nice private room in the back for parties. Food was good waiters were nice. No complaints here.

I certainly loved the food and service, excellent area to my home. The workers are always welcoming. I highly recommend this place.

Lunch buffet is always good. Place is usually full of people during lunch hours. I eat here at least once a month. It is a star on my Google map.

We get takeout pretty often from Mantra and food is always good and never disappoints. Great job!

11/20 Ordered take out today , the food was extremely spicy which me or my kids couldnt eat, when the order was for light to medium spicy. I called the restaurant to be told the chef insists the food isnt spicy .. wonder how he will know when we are the ones eating it!Went for lunch buffet with family. Good ambience and food tastes good too. Can have few more starter options for vegetarians though , there was only 1 veg starter.

I’ve ordered out and I’ve dined in. I honestly can’t get enough. Service is stupendous. Drinks are phenomenal, the bartenders are awesome especially the one that’s been there for years! I highly recommend this plAce if you want to eat amazing food w/ a beautiful presentation. Great flavor!!

Im a New Yorker thats had all sorts of food in my vicinity and never thought I would enjoy a restaurant in New Jersey that would make me want to leave New York to get some more. This place is awesome!! Some of the best, if not the best Indian food Ive ever had...

My co-worker and I ordered a few things for lunch and everything was amazing...The garlic naan bread was topped with cilantro which is my favorite. We also ordered the Mango Shrimp ugh the sauce is so succulent and sweet but tangy too. Thank you for the recommendation Meenu! Were adding this gem to our lunch favorites!

Delicious Lunch buffet with good variety! Price is reasonable as well! The only thing that makes this 4 instead of 5 stars is the actual service was ok. It took a little too long to be seated, get water refilled, and to get our check. The food is fantastic and was worth a little extra waiting around time.
