Wonderful place for one day trip.... Beautiful sceneries are around the bridge.... One of the most rated tourist spot in Jharkhand is Maithon.... This place is situated near the border of West Bengal and Jharkhand.... Also a good family friendly picnic spot.... The river looks Soo much pretty from the bridge.... Its a very good traveling spot for a single day trip....

Maithon Bridge/Dam is India 2nd dam. Its very beautiful place. You can do picnic and party on this place. You can enjoy this place you do enjoy boating also food chat there. Its Connect Jharkhanad & West Bengal. You can easily reach this place. Its just 5 km far away from NH-2 and 7 km from Kumardhubi Railway Station. Nearest big city are Dhanbad, Asansol and Chittaranjan.

Calm place in off seasons. During rush time, its a mess.

Beautiful scenic place to visit in the coal belt... It marks the Jharkhand and Bengal border. Best season is winter where the area is beautifully decorated by seasonal flowers... Although its a bit crowded at that time...

Maithon dam one of the most beautiful Picnic Spot. Winter is the best time to visit this place. Who want to spend sometime in the lap of nature, do visit this place if you have time. Main attraction is the island into the lot of water also dam is view is so nice. There is a small park. Speedboat and nouka service available. The speedboat/nouka ride in this lake is awesome. The views from the bank of the river Barakar is amazing. Maithon dam also has historical importance and is marked as a heritage site by the Archaeological Survey of India. 1st dam project of independent india.

Maithon dam bridge is unique to see. It is over the river Barakar & located at the border of West Bengal & Jharkhand. Approx 2km road stretch over the dam bridge is fascinating. The view around from over the dam bridge is breathtaking. The car cannot be parked at this place as this is a no parking zone.

We visited the place on our way just to have lunch but ended up spending 1.5 hours nice place to enjoy speed boat ride and sun set was fantastic.
