Ramdev is considered to be the incarnation of Vishnu. Ramdev was born in the Meghvansi family at Ramderia on Bhadra Shukla Beej.In Rajasthan, Ramdev is the chief deity of the Meghwal community, worshiped during Vedava Poonam. Gokuldas, a religious leader of the community, claims that Ramdev himself was Meghwal (Jaipal) in his 1982 book Meghwal History, which framed the history of the Meghwal community.Muslims worship Ramdev as Ramshah Pir or Ram Shah Pir. It is said that he had miraculous powers and his fame spread far and wide. Legend has it that five Peers came from Mecca to test the powers of Ramdev. Ramdev welcomed him, and requested him to have a meal with him. Piro refused, saying he only ate his personal utensils, which were in Mecca. Seeing this, Ramdev smiled and said, Look, your utensils are coming and they saw their bowl of food flying in the air from Mecca. After being convinced of his abilities and powers, they paid homage to him and named him Ram Shah Peer.
