The only naming of the templeSituated on the banks of the western Nyaya, under the Patthani village of Kandarsu Punti, 46 km away from Pauri city, the Shiva temple is famous for its unique architectural structure in the entire Garhwal Himalaya. Local people know Shiv Mandir Patthani as Rahu Mandir. But the ancient Shivling established in the sanctum of the temple and marking the three heads of Shiva on the Shukanaasika of the temple presents strong evidence that this temple is Shiva temple.Nathin Nautiyal village Daula, local citizen of Pethani, points out that the description in Kedarkhand about this temple established by Shankaracharya is still a center of curiosity for the people. The popularity is that on the confluence site of the Eastern Nayar of Rashtrakut Mountains and on the confluence of the Western Nyay, Rahu had done penance of Shiva, so that due to the ascetic of Rahu, it is known by the name of Lord Rama Temple. This region was called Rathak only after the name of Rashtrakut Mount. According to Kangarands rituals, O Bharabhuv: Self: Rathianaprodhav Pethinasigroth Raho Iehagachteetti according to many scholars consider it to be the strong evidence of Rahu temple. It is also believed that worshiping on this bench serves as the son. On every Monday of the Sawan month, women worshiped in this temple by boards.In the pavilions mandap, a rare statue of trim Harihar is also established along with the attractive statue of Veenadhar Shiva. In the middle of the statue, the coordinated mouth of Harihari is gentle, while the mouth of the right is marked by the mouth and the right and the right side of Barah is marked. This statue is identified by archaeologist Maheshwar Mahavraos statue. Due to its amazing characteristics, this statue is not only the Garhwal Himalaya but one of the rare idols of entire India. Based on the style of architecture and statues, this Shiva temple and the idols of Paathani seem to be built in the 8-9th Century. Visitors from far and wide travel to see this Shiv Mandir at Paithani village. There is no rift with the mythology of this temple. This temple is a wonderful specimen of architecture.The sand brought forth by the waters of the western Nyar river flowing near the river is known as golden sand which is called alluvial sand, which can still be seen in the light red color along the banks of the river.
