Spicy pork bellys flavor was really great but the portion size was much too small for the pre-tax, pre-convenience fee price of $18. Even the rice portion was too small. Seaweed rolls were unimpressive. The ox bone soup was basically flavorless... just sort of grayish brown water. The flavor on the kimchi was good but the pickled ratish was too sweet and the color seemed off.

It was so delicious food and kind staffs. I love it. I will go there again.

Ive been to almost every Korean restaurant in this city and I can say by far Gangnam has the best food. It makes me feel like Im back in Korea eating at a shop in Hongdae (or Gangnam 😄.) Really great customer service as well. Theyre always so kind and welcoming.

Its not everyday you get decent NaengMyeon in Kansas. I was happy. New favorite place.

A quaint little gem to gather with loved ones and have a treat from across the world. I had the Tofu Stew with Beef Bulgogi. Yummy ! The Fried Seaweed Roll was a treat in itself.

We ordered the tteokboki, uguji galbitang, and pork bulgogi. The food taste and seasoning was mediocre. If you are looking for authentic Korean food, we would not recommend. We love Korean food and eat out about 2-3x a week, so it was disappointing to eat here when the other reviews were so positive. Also, we were disappointed by the service.

Probably the most horrible Korean food I’ve ever had. No tendon as advertised and the portions they gave are laughable. Barely any noodles at all. I’d never come back here. Were they good at one point? I’m not sure but this is awful. My Chinese friend threw it in the trash. Hands down the worst ever.

Worst hot pot Ive ever tasted. Needs moderation of sesame sauce. Something to keep in mind if you are not a fan of sesame sauce. The kimchi was equally bad. Portion was very little with respect to the price. Sides were almost non-existent. Staff is friendly. The refilled whatever they called the sides. The restaurant is mostly self-serve.

Have been here a few times now and it depends on what you get. The tofu stew is ok, not much flavor. Kalbitang is delicious. Fried chicken is okay. Bibibap isn’t great. Not my favorite Korean restaurant in town, but it can hit the spot depending on what you’re in the mood for. I’ve had the best luck with their kalbitang, and I enjoy their ban chan side dishes.

If I lived closer, I could imagine myself stopping by during lunch. The food came out FAST and it was delicious! They were doing self-serve when I came in on Saturday, so you had to get your own water and pick up your dishes, but that didnt detract from the customer service and great food. Id love to come back again to try even more dishes.

The food is good but the service is non existent. I’m not sure what happened here, if they’re under new ownership/management but don’t go in here expecting any sort of service. Disappointed for sure. Used to be the best.

Didnt care for this place. Really disappointing. Theres a ton of great places nearby Id recommend over this one. I got a dish with moon snails. Snails themselves werent bad, but everything else with it wasnt very good. Apparently the dish is served slightly below room temperature, which I didnt like but not really knocking that if thats authentic. Giving 1 star because on top of all this my wife got soup with calms that hadnt been properly cleaned and got a mouthful of sand. Thats just gross and for price had much higher expectations.

The food here is authentic and delicious! I love their seoulangtang (ox tail bone broth) and it’s one of the only places that tastes high quality. Great price too!

I had the kalbitang and grilled samkyupsal. The pork was nicely grilled with a good flavor. The kalbitang broth was very tastey if not a little on the sweet side. The kkakdugi and kimchee were both good and the kong namul tasted fresh. I liked their ssamjang but it was a little sweeter than Im used to having it. I think that is just the trend in Korean food right now. Overall good and recommended.

If you want to get your own food, get small portions, listen to them yell at customers for not cleaning up…this is the place to go! If you want great food and better service go to Chosun or choga

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I am really excited to say that it was a good experience! All of the food was very delicious, the restrooms were clean and well kept and so was the establishment itself. The staff members were very friendly and courteous. Im definitely looking forward to my next visit here!

Food is good but the portion size are too small for the price. We both ordered a lunch combination, and the noodles portion were too little. Only two small bites and the noodles were gone. Same with the meat dish that came with it. Barely any meat and very small pieces. The flavors were good but not worth the price whatsoever. Service was okay, didnt check up on us besides for our orders. But it was quite busy with limited seating so Im sure they were trying to rush us out. Would have liked more sides refilled. Did not get my fill unfortunately. Maybe next time it will be better.

I lived for three years in South Korea and Ill say this is quite possibly the best authentic Korean food Ive had in the USA. I felt like we were back in Daegu! This was our second visit and it was even better than the first. Great DoenJang Jjigae wonderful bulgogi, excellent pajeong. The food disappeared too fast to take a picture.

I tried this korean restaurant and majority of the customers were American which means they think anything they try they think the food is good not knowing what is authentic korean traditional foods.The food is god awful and only three side dishes were nasty. This is not your typical traditional korean foods.The pictures on their website are misleading because the food you order and portions are not the same!! Waste of money!!I think this restaurant needs to close!!!!

This place doesnt offer the option to cook your food at your table like some other fancier Korean restaurants but they do bring their food on hot plates. The sides are all great and when we were preparing our leftovers to go, the polite waiter offered to pack some extra sides to go. Very happy customer here - and plan to be back!

Stopped in for the first time to give this place a try. Service was good and prompt. I had the dolsot bibimbap and it wasnt too bad. The ingredients tasted fresh but it was missing something seasoning wise. Overall, still a good dish. The accompanying sides were all flavorful and well seasoned. I tried a bite of the haemool pajun and it had good flavor and a nice assortment of seafood. The only downside is that it could have been a bit more crispy.

The food tasted weird. I cant put my finger on what was wrong, but it just wasnt great. It really wasnt even good. We ordered the dolsot bibimbap and were sorely disappointed. The sides were fishy tasting. The simple broth soup was the only thing we finished. We will try another Korean restaurant and probably wont return to Gangnam.

Food was super good, service was amazing, and they treated my one year old so well.

Maybe we ordered the wrong things. It’s just not good and expensive. Mandu was over fried. Waiter said it’s suppose to be like that. Seafood buchimgae had very little seafood.

Food and service was excellent.

I recently went here for the first time and I will definitely be back for more! The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and it was a very quiet and chill environment. I recommend the Gochujang Pork Bulgogi and the Vegetable Pancake. The portion sizes were also dceent for the prices in my opinion.

The waiter seemed to be brilliant at multitasking and mastered it. The food took a while but was worth it. This guy hopefully owns the restaurant for all his effort he puts in.

My friends and I came here all the time while we were all in KCMO. They have the best food and are literally the nicest people!! It is kind of pricey, but soooo worth it! Ive already put Gangnam on the list of places Im going to eat at when I get back to KC!

Great Place to get some authentic tasting Korean dishes.

It’s definitely a hit or mss situation when it comes to dining at a city where there aren’t too many Koreans, but jeyuk-bokeum I had was pretty darn good. The place doesn’t look like some fancy Korean restaurants found at places like new york or los angeles and may need some work, but it was clean enough and the staff was very friendly. The price is very reasonable as well. I am leaving a review to remind myself to possibly visit in the future :)

Fantastic food. Went in a little after 4pm, place was empty. Good service, didnt have to wait long for the appetizer or meal. The guy seemed eager to get us out once we were done and paid up though. Still gets 4 stars.

The best Korean I have had since returning from Korea in 2014.

We always enjoy Korean grilled beef which is always full of flavors. We have been eating in few of Korean grill restaurants where you have several different kinds of meat, and grilled on your table, but they were all All You Can Eat restaurants. In GangNam Korean Grill and Bar, you can order from menu prepared in kitchen or grill on your table that is I highly recommend.

They have amazing food!

I went there for 2days before. And I felt like Im at home. I had Gochujangpork thing and Squid with Gochujang. And it was awesome. The server was so nice and sweet. Highly recommend this place if you want to try lots of different types of Korean food.

Ive tried so many of their dishes but now, I have to admit that I have been addicted to their Japchae. Very flavorful and the staff is always friendly.

Asked again when i picked up to make sure have enough 2 traditional side with 2 orders. But they didn’t give enough.

Soup dishes are great. Steam squid is a must try. Rib meat is a bit tough, if your teeth isnt so good, I wont recommend this dish. Customer service is good, some during the week days. Dont come during the weekends, the server just dont have the time for you.

First time trying Korean food. It was very good and delicious. Restaurant was clean and customer service was good.

Love this place my children enjoy the food. Kalbatang is their favorite. Ive tried a few bento boxes, bipbambap and bulgoki. There a quite a bit to still try but Ive enjoyed all so far. Dumplings (mando) are heat also!

Im 1/2 Korean and I love this place. I went for lunch one day and I was great with such hospitality. I was given some raw salmon to snack on and shared a nice beverage there.I have been to many of the Korean restaurants in the area but none of them was what I was looking for. If you dont know, Korean food has different styles much like different areas of places have different dialects of language. Many Americans like the Korean bbq...not I, I like a my moms home style Korean food....and Gang Nam have that to me.The food is great, the people are, great, the food comes out fast and hot....and you get a lot of food, especially with the dinner portions.Definitely try the place and get an imported beer while youre at it!

The food was delicious and the service was good, however, they were charging prices relative to a four star restaurant. The prices need to come down or the portion sizes need to increase and atmosphere needs to be improved for this place to be considered a good value.

Good Korean restaurant in the neighborhood. I dont know how authentic it is as I havent been to Korea yet, but judging on how many Koreans are dining here I would assume its pretty good. I ordered 2 dishes, one is a spicy squid, and the other is bulgogi. Both are pretty well done and portion is ok. Would recommend to anyone wants some Korean food.

Very good authentic Korean food. The only thing that would make it better is if they had the table grills where you could cook your own meats like at some other Korean restaurants. Still, this is the best Korean food I have had to date in the Kansas City area.

Our go to place for Korean comfort food! Always delicious with great service & warm staff, plus soju! Have great lunch specials & even lunch bento. The staff has always been so friendly & accommodating to our 2 year old daughter. We stop in for lunch or dinner whenever we are out doing the shopping at Oriental Market! Love the owners!

We walked into a pleasantly bright restaurant and were bombarded with wonderful smells and kind greetings in Korean and English. Everyone was super polite and very attentive.Sounds of the Korean language and laughter coming from the other tables gave the ambiance a pleasant nostalgia of enjoyment for the two years I lived in Seoul South Korea 20 years ago.Korean cuisine is one of my favorites and saying this place is authentically delicious is a gross understatement. It is definitely in the top two Korean food spots I have visited since leaving Korea 20 years ago (and we eat it regularly).Restaurant is clean and pleasantly scented.The only down side is that this restaurant is 46 mins from my house, but I am going to make the trip regularly without a second thought.

Their fried dumplings are a must. Loved the short ribs. Excellent service. Would recommend.

Excellent food, prompt service. There are pictures of each dish on the wall and on the menu as well as a description of each dish. This helps because the names of the dish are in Korean. This restaurant has the best food and is the most authentic of all Korean restaurants in the Kansas City Area. It is very reasonabley priced as well even especially for dinner.

I took my picky parents here and they absolutely loved everything! We ate the vegetable pancake, the gochujang bulgogi, the regular bulgogi and the japchae. Everything was crazy good!! The atmosphere felt like a restaurant in Korea :) If you have visited Korea or lived in Korea, I recommend this restaurant. They have Korean comfort food.Im sad because I didnt order tteokboki.
