I came to VALLUVANADU hospital for my mother two months ago. She suffered from toothache, especially with a large infection in the roots of the tooth. dental surgeon Dr remya was treated my mother. my mother was very much satisfied with Dr. remyas treatment.A month later, along with my mother, my sister underwent treatment under the doctor. The doctors care and love was remarkable. Mother had more than 4 root canals and sister had root canal in only one tooth. Now both were completely healed.I would like to express my sincere gratitude and love to Dr.Remya. Team management needs to take care to keep such people as doctors in order to maintain our precious lives.

My impression about this hospital based on my recent experience is not that great and it was a nightmare for me!!Very unprofessional staff, very few caring doctors and very crowded premises. Nurses being a respected fraternity, we lose it after visiting here. Nurses will be in groups and they wont respond to you properly. They will mock at you, laugh at you sometimes shout at you if you share any specific concern (I experienced the same). Truly unprofessional!!PRO staff seemed to be helpful but no special efforts from them in gettting things delievered to the customer at the right time. They will make you walk back and forth a lot, they will have many excuses to make, seemed like a Govt. office to me!! I had to spend 2 valuable days to get all invoices signed and sealed. The only difference in response I saw was from Mr Suresh (PRO), he was quite helpful indeed! My father could have been discharged 1 day before, due to the delay in getting the reports and bills, spent an extra day. Doctors wont be available after 4-5pm and they will leave without bothering about the discharge procedures to be done / reports to be signed.Patient medicines are not prescribed in proper document with letterhead and medicines are written in plain notebooks. Sorry that I have never experienced such a scenario before. Medical prescription in proper format is mandatory for medical claims.Doctor was saying most probably the Insurance wont be processed for the reason of my fathers health condition. And the Doctor suggested to discharge (Neuro) that day. But when the insurance got approved, discharge got extended one more day and multiple doctors were entitled to visit the patient multiple times to charge us with the doctor consultation and other charges. They would say it is part of medication only. And one of the pathetic experience was waiting for the Director and Chairman to get the duplicate bill. No one else can do it from the Administration team.I did talk to the Director Anupama (wasnt listening) and the Chairman (was listening but forgot his name), it didnt seem like they were interested to see me in person. Somehow they managed to hear my concern and surprisingly the Chairman gave a word that action will be taken and he will call me then. I said no need to take strict actions but warnings should be given ASAP. And not after weeks or months where they say they have to do an inspection and interrogation.I gave a written complaint on what I had to experience to one of the PRO staff, but didnt seem like the management really bothered at all. My complaint should be there in the dustbin now. These issues might be happening every now and then but this impacts a customer experience and interest in visiting the facility further for sure. I would never recommend this hospital if a patient is in severe need of care and medical attention.

Friendly and cooperative staff.Doctors are good. However the infrastructure has to improve a lot.Particularly the ultrasound/scanning facility.Went there on a regular Monday morning.I had to wait for 3 hours just to get an ultrasound scan to be done.Afer that another 20-25 minutes for the report.Never in my life have I seen such a delay for scanning and report generation. This is after being charged 800rs for ultrasound scanning.AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME.PS- if you happen to go here, check out for private scanning facilities outside the hospital.I was told by some people that would be more fast than the in-house scanning facility

A team beyond expectationsIt was on the wee hours of a Tuesday night , we had to rush to the casualty of Valluvanad hospital as I had an abdominal pain in the 36th week of my pregnancy as advised by our Gyneac consultant Dr Chandramathy madam. I was in a state of disbelief as we were expecting our child to come out by may. the c- section went uneventful, the baby was received by the pediatric team and he was in a kind of respiratory distress. i was pondered by the thoughts regarding the health of my baby. Being a doctor, i thought I was strong to handle such situations but being a new mother all my expectations about myself were terribly wrong. I was extremely anxious about my baby as he was kept in NICU for almost a week. I write this review with immense joy and gratefulness for the care my baby recieved in this covid era. I must say that the people of ottapalam are lucky to have a very good 24x7 paediatric team with advanced facilities in this small town. (Dr Mahesh, Dr Anil, Dr Dileep, Dr Anand and the guidance of Dr Achuthan sir). we are always indebted to you .We have been following up the baby with Dr Mahesh who has taken great care of the babys health, but also he is lovely to speak with at every appointment. It’s rare to find such doctors with such passion in their job.. i wish them all the best for the years to come.Would highly recommend the hospital for a safe and happy delivery.

Review №17

My father was admitted in Valluvanad hospital for close to two weeks in Covid ICU. Unfortunately he passed away. The reason I am giving one star is due to the emotional journey myself and my family went through due to un- empathetic approach of the doctors.Doctors are not magicians and we all know there is a limit doctors can do when it comes to pandemic or any other diseases. But what is within control of doctors is to be empathetic with the patient and with the bystanders. We spoke to many other bystanders of covid icu patients and all shared the same opinion about the harsh mentality of the doctors. There is no additional charge to be empathetic and its a basic human value irrespective of being doctor or not. When this was a point of discussion we got feedback that doctors and staff are saturated due to heavy work pressure. But that is not the problem of the patients nor the family members. If you are not up for rhe challenges the profession entails, you should not take up such a great profession.Second, it is a responsibility of the hospital management, to ensure the staff( doctors, nurses, etc.) gets enough support to handle this pressure. So that they dont dump those pressure on the patients and bystanders.Like any case there was one exception where we found one doctor(Dr. Shivadas) who had empathy and emotions to understand the pain we were going through. This was a shared opinion among many other bystanders.I pray to god that this pandemic is gone soon and no one has a need to be in this hospital again and go through this emotional journey.

Valluvanad hospital has good doctors and fairly good facilities. The rooms could be better. On the 4th floor, bathrooms have a common wall with adjacent rooms with a gap on top making it a huge nuisance for both the rooms. Waiting rooms could be provided for bystanders who are waiting on their patients in ICU. Corridors outside ICUs become crowded with waiting bystanders making it at times difficult to even walk through that area. In our case, all these shortcomings were compensated by Dr. Rohit who performed my sisters surgery. A thorough professional, he explained the complete procedure, what to expect, what we need to do post surgery etc. He understands patients psychology very well I think. He is ever willing to visit the patient at all odd hours if requested, bring in specialists as needed and provide all possible assistance and guidance on medical matters like getting medicines from outside if not available in the hospital etc.Nurses were also professional, helpful and kind.Canteen food is good and the 24 hour cafe is also very good.

Recently i took my sister and my mother-in-law to Valuvanad. A knee replacement and hip surgery, both by Dr Rohit Nair. I am happy with the end result and the general experience at the hospital. What impressed me about Dr Rohit is that he patiently explains to you in detail the problem and the recommended course of treatment. He is also realistic in his assessment of the prognosis and quality of life post-surgery. The nursing staff was caring and helpful. But the hospital needs to improve its infrastructure. Corridors in front of the consulting rooms are dark and dingy. Rooms and toilets need to be refurbished. Checkin, Checkout and payment procedures must be simplified. Card payments must be facilitated. There is a lot to be done from a management perspective.

I would like to write about my experience at Valluvanad hospital, especially Dr Rohit. Doctor who spends time with patients and explains/shares each and every update on patients illness (We rarely find this quality with the current generation of doctors). He makes you comfortable and the feeling you get that patient is in safe hands cannot be explained in words. The passion with which he explained about the knee replacement surgery post my mothers operation I could make out he loves his job. I recommend, Dr Rohit from Valluvanad for any of kind of knee related issue and I am not writing just as a review but from my own personal experience. My mother who was suffering due to acute knee pain and post surgery by Dr Rohit after 3 months is back to normal life.Would also like to write about the hospital, the room facility could be comparable to big hospitals at metro cities. I recommend the management to appoint more doctors like Dr Rohit and Valluvanad will be one of the sought after hospitals in the country, without advertising or any other marketing.
