Nothing much to do here. They have a few exhibits that detail the process of making chocolates from Cocoa pods. The entry fee is ₹20 for adults. They provide one sample for each ticket purchased. The staff are nice and answer any questions you may have. They have a shop with a few varieties on sale but are priced quite high. There is parking available next to the Museum.

The chocolate museum is one of the first few things that comes when you are entering Ooty. Its a small place, but a great visit if you wish to understand how chocolate is made. There is also a guide available who explains and takes you through the processes demonstrated through out the museum. If you have 20-30 mins to spare, you can definitely add this to your itenerary. Parking is easily available in the premise. There is also a store of chocolates and few other items at the end of the museum. Plus you get a chocolate stick too as part of your ticket. Actually the entry fare is to cover the fare of the chocolate stick I think. Entry fare is 20Rs per head.

This is a small chocolate museum and store in Ooty. This is usually crowded during peak seasons. They have a small parking space. You will need to buy an entry to ticket to check out the museum. Not so attractive a display but worth the time spent to gaze through the wide range of chocolates on display. The dark chocolate with almonds are a must try. The organizers must invest more and focus on making this place big and attractive if they want to survive this museum. To be honest the tragedy of a dying ooty and the man made destruction is making the entire region suffer. Miss you Ooty. You may never rejuvenate amongst the corrupt hands. This place has lost all its charm but try if you have time and patience.

Pathetic - Not a museum - its a shop. They should not use the word museum for 3 dark displays of cocoa beans and a few chocolate small statues. Its not a museum - just someone trying to bait traffic for their chocolate shop and charging customers for this! Dont fall for it. Better to buy the chocolates in the city in commercial road.

In 1988, Angus Thirlwell and Peter Harris began designing and selling mints as MMC, before moving to chocolates, some six years later. Rebranded as Geneva Chocolates, the current co-founders of Hotel Chocolat adapted trade to the catalogue-based world and before long, had steered towards the name Choc Express. Throughout these next few years, Angus and Peter had turned their focus on making this brand of exclusive chocolates available to UK consumers. In 1998, the Chocolate Tasting Club was launched in Britain; as of 2014, it has around 100,000 members.[2] To date, the Tasting Club has trialled over 1,500 different recipes. As detailed on their website, the Chocolate Tasting Club sends out boxes to customers all over the country each month. In 2003, Choc Express rebranded as Hotel Chocolat and launched its first retail store in the centre of Watford. The company then grew initially to having four stores in the East Anglian area, with stores in Milton Keynes, Cambridge and St Albans opening between 2005 and 2006. Today, the company has over 70 around the UK.[3]In 2006, the company officially acquired the Rabot Estate in Saint Lucia, and is, to date, the only company in the UK to own its own cocoa plantation.[4] This plantation is one of the reasons given for the company choosing not to be Fair Trade-accredited, as only smallholdings are allowed. In 2011, Hotel Chocolat opened its Boucan Hotel in Saint Lucia.[5] The hotel sits on the Rabot Estate which is perched high up between the Piton mountains. The hotel currently has six lodges and a cocoa-inspired Boucan Restaurant.Hotel Chocolat has been awarded Emerging Retailer of the Year by Retail Week and nominated as one of the UK’s CoolBrands.[6]The company was also awarded the silver prize in the 2009 Academy of Chocolate awards. In November 2013, Hotel Chocolat opened two UK restaurants, Rabot 1745 in Londons Borough Market, and Roast + Conch in Leeds.[7]In August 2017, Hotel Chocolat opened its first stores in the Republic of Ireland in Dundrum, Dublin.[8]

This was an eyewash. Liked the idea of having a chocolate museum, but this place was a disappointment. Its basically a chocolate selling counter, nothing historic in it. They have just placed some chocolate trivia, the aim seems to be to get people attracted and hopefully sell some overpriced chocolates. I was out of this place within 10mins.

In the business of displaying and selling homemade chocolates in different forms for the last about 15 years and known for their penchant for commemorating various globally significant occasions with chocolate festivals, siblings S.M.Fazloor Rahman and S.M.Abdhul Rahman, who run the NPS Super Market here, took their passion for the local delicacy to a different level on Friday by creating a museum in its honour.Located at Indunagar on Ooty-Mysore road, the Chocolate Museum has been billed as the first of its kind in the country.Describing it as a long cherished dream, the promoters told The Hindu that in December 2010 they had organised the first chocolate festival featuring 101 varieties and since then they had shown their deep love for cocoa and chocolates in different ways. Bringing into being a museum was a natural corollary.Apart from the 16 items designed with chocolates, posters listing the health benefits of cocoa have also been displayed. To a question, they said that the items displayed could remain in their original form for weeks together.
