I tried Shahi India Grill for the first time and I must say it exceeded expectations for me.The restaurant is located right in the city with a very nice ambiance.The food options are limited and perfected. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. A must try Indian place for family, friends and dates!
If you like Indian food, this is the place to go! Atmosphere was perfect, love the water fall, service was incredible, our server Sharma was fabulous, amazing sense of humor, and food was spectacular. Can’t get better food anywhere other than here, I got the butter chicken and my husband got curry, both delicious and huge portions we left full and happy! The mild-medium spice level was perfect for me liking just a little bit of spice. Check it out, you won’t regret it!
FANTASTIC! The girls were so nice. The inside was beautiful and clean. The food, ugh DELICIOUS! My boyfriend had never had Indian before and he loved it! We will definitely be coming back

We have eaten at Shahi several times for dine in and take out. Whether we go out for date night, or with our four children, we always have a superb meal. The staff is friendly and efficient, the kitchen is on point. If your new to Indian food, try the korma or tiki masala. Always order plain or garlic naan, and be sure to treat the kids to a mango lassi!
We have yet to eat at the restaurant, but their take out service is good. Always hot (heat) and ready when they say it will be. They use recyclable plastic containers which is a big plus in my book. They hold up in the dishwasher too. Recycling is great and a must, but reusing is the best! Their food is great tasting and seems to be of good quality. From the pictures and what we see when we pick up the orders we are looking forward to eating there some day.
Very bad service, no greetings at all. The girl who took the order was very rude. Tea tasted horrible. Shahi paneer curry did not taste well either. If you are planning to go there, to try aunthentic indian food, you will be disappointed.

Friendly staff and the dessert tasted nice, but we all promptly threw up after and the chicken was burnt bitter! Definitely not worth the price. There were also flies. I dont think well be coming back here.
We had the Shahi dinner for two, which is extremely economical and lets you try several different dishes without having to order a bunch of different plates--it includes apps, two entrees, rice, garlic butter naan, and dessert.My husband, for some reason, to order everything medium spice, despite the fact that were both pasty white people. Dont do this. Order mild. He was sweating all over the place and while it was hilarious, it was easily avoidable. Luckily Sharma, our waitress, was very gracious and supplied us with plenty of water, green tea, and some sort of mango-y concoction in an attempt to save his life.The food was DELICIOUS and even though the threat of death by spice seemed real, we just couldnt quit eating. Even though we were both stuffed, there was plenty of food for another meal, probably for each of us. The prices were very fair and it was well worth the visit.
Great food! The best naan I’ve ever had (we got the garlic naan)! Would rather they left the cilantro off but totally able to pick that off :)
The food was AMAZING!!! Ive been to several Indian restraunts and this one takes the cake. Inside the decor is classy but has the balance of catering to people in street clothes. The food was so well balanced and fresh from the spice to the presentation. Samosas, paneer, and Krahi Masada were so delicious. The young woman who did everything front of house was friendly and knowledgeable, and had great reccomendations. This is my new favorite and I cant wait to come back!

Don’t go if you are from india. They serve chicken rice in the name of briyani. Poor way of cooking and not authentic Indian dish at all as they seem to be. Save and go for better restaurant if you need Indian food.
We order thru door dash and came to pick, food was absolutely delicious 😋 kamala was such an nice, while we were waiting for our order, she offer us drink we had little talk, we have to comeback sometime for dine in. It’s so beautiful inside
The Lamb Korma and the Butter chicken were delicious and the proteins were the star of the show. The vegetable gravies were not as thick as I like - and the mulligatawny was incredibly flavorful - a touch thin and not as yellow as Id hope.But a worthwhile dinner!

Wow I can’t believe that after all these reviews they still serve undercooked rice. I ordered a lamb biryani and it was the worst I ever had. Rice was very undercooked.
Loved the place. Awesome food. Great customer service. We will be back. Only one issue. Bathrooms down stairs. Smelled funky. Looked spotless and new. But smell was a bit overwhelming. Wasnt sure if it was because of the construction across the street.
Shrimp masala is very delicious! Great staff fast service and amazing food! The gralic naan is seasoned perect! Also we are sorry camala and jacki to make you wait for us. We came in last minute and without hesitation camala serve us and make us feel welcomed and the restaurant is very clean and up to date love the water fall! Will definitely visit again soon!

Dined here with my family on a weekend near Thanksgiving on a whim since we were at Gene Leahy Mall for the Christmas lights and its right across Farnam. All of us tried a different dish with mild spice since we had very rarely or never eaten Indian food. All of it was fantastic! The naan was warm, fresh and delicious and the various curries were really tasty. Lots of rice with cumin seeds and plenty of sauce with the dishes. The drinks had a kick to them. Pleasant atmosphere with a wall fountain, substantial tablecloths and napkins, Indian music, nice plants and decor. The prices were very reasonable for such a quality restaurant. A really unique and delicious experience for us! Nicely done!
Ordered through doordash twice. First time some of rhe potatoes in the alu mattar curry werent thoroughly cooked. Second time the rice with my dal makhani wasnt fully cooked. Whats the point of spending money to order only to finish cooking it yourself?
This place is incredible for many reasons, but Ill share our highlights:1. The menu is beautifully authentic and has great value. We had the non-vegetarian dinner for two and it did not disappoint. It comes with an appetizer sampler plate, 2 entrees, drinks, and dessert for around $42 total after tax. Thats an awesome option to get a solid feel for their offerings.2. The venue is very pretty and well equipped to handle groups. Some restaurants in the Old Market dont have tables that can comfortably accommodate a bigger group. It was just the two of us the night we went, but Im definitely putting Shahi on the list of places to bring family when they visit.This was kinda funny because wed only ever seen the bar in the front when wed walk by. We had know idea there was a big dining room.3. No tips. The staffs pay is accounted for in the food pricing, which is refreshing to see. I hope more restaurants do this in the future.4. The service was cheerful and very kind. I never felt embarrassed asking a question and they were always ready to make a recommendation.5. Last but not least, everything tasted great! We had our favorite Tikka Masala and Butter curries with garlic naan (both were outstanding), but the desserts were new to me. Ive never Gulab Jamun or Ras Malai before, but the delicate flavors won me over in a heartbeat.I cant wait to go back and bring family when the flu scare is over. But in the meantime, they can count on my takeout order!
Mango lassi and naan here are delicious. Rice was undercooked. Don’t use the bathrooms here. Management needs improvement.

Hands down the best Indian food I’ve probably ever had. The restaurant is gorgeous and clean and has even better food.
Just because the ambience saved them from the utter shame. The best ambience among all the Indian restaurants I have visited in Omaha. But you go to a restaurant to eat and they are disappointing in this department. I went for a lunch buffet. The options were very limited for both veg and non veg considering an Indian buffet. So there was chicken tikka in starters, butter chicken and chicken curry in main course and chicken biryani. Ohh that’s a lot of chicken, I think they don’t know that there are more varieties in non veg food. For veg folks it was same with chola. The food was cold, I guess as there were not many people and they have loaded too much on the tray. Coming to dessert, jalebi which was super cold and rice pudding was ok. The taste was ok and surely they are doing no justice to the amount they are charging for the buffet.

I got the chicken tikka masala with naan. While the naan was pretty good, the sauce for the tikka masala was the worst I’ve ever had. Super salty, a weird color for masala, and extremely oily. The chicken tasted not fresh, cheap and fake. I’m currently paying the price on the toilet and it made me really sick. Would never spend my money here again.
4 stars just because of the food was so amazing. We are from out of town and just staying in Nebraska for business for few months. My wife, our daughter, and I walked in at 8.25pm Monday night for dinner and we were welcome by a women at the front who asked us if we were dine in or take out. We replied dine in, and then she started saying we are almost about to close in 30 mins so if you like to do take out it would be better. We felt very unwelcomed and awkward and I said to her that Google says your closing time is 9:30pm and she replied oh yea Google is not right. I said also at your front door the time says close at 9:30pm and she disregarded that also. After a awkward conversation she asked us that I can seat you guys while you guys are looking at the menu to order take out. We said no thank you if we are not going dine in the why seat us. I told her dont worry about seating us cuz after all that we feel like we are going to be rush by you guys so we will order take out. I am not the one asking for managers to create a big scene so we let it slide.In the end, food is definitely Shahi standard but customer service and staff not so Shahi at all.
Food is great, garlic Naan is delicious, but service, unfortunately, is not doing good job when comes to payments for meals. Check you receipts twice, so you would not be surprised
Bright and clean, but not too bright.Very good service, they have keto options listed on the menu, lots of flavor we had the Saag Paneer, tandoori and tikka chicken, big portions. Ask for extra sauce on the side. The slaw was good as a side. Got there 1/2 hour before closing and had our food in 10 minutes. Menus are online, and they use paper for tablecloths. We will go back!
It was okay. Service was good but the food was disappointing. My vindaloo had no heat at all. Flavors seemed very muted. Naan was good as were the dipping sauces. Not sure if Ill go back

Amazing to find authentic Indian food in Omaha. Everything we ordered was perfect. The seasoning is customized to your spice tolerance. The chicken sag, butter chicken, samosa, and all other dishes (including breads) were freshly and enhanced the meal. A beautiful restaurant. Great prices and generous portions. Our waitress Kamala was amazing and very graceful. She help us what to order. we were super impress with her and feel like we eating at home, the way she welcome us and make us feel comfortable. We barely get this kind of service or food. what make me surprise was she refuse to take tips, we try to hard to give her tip cause of her service but she refuse to accept. It’s was little busy, but our sever kamala never failed to give us amazing service. She was excellent on everything, from taking order and giving food. We were actually on our way to a different restaurant but decided to stop here on a whim. This restaurant did not pop up when we googled “nearby restaurants” from our hotel (Hilton Garden Inn downtown Omaha). This place was delicious! Everything we ordered tasted amazing from the appetizer combo plate to the main course. Would definitely recommend to any fan of Indian food in the downtown Omaha area.

The best Indian food in Omaha by far. We’ve tried others before Shahi opened and for us could never find a favorite. When this opened we went and were so happy with our service, the taste and preparation of the food. My husband is from India and is pretty picky and loves this restaurant as much as I do. Never ever change or close. I recommend you to everyone looking for a great Indian meal.

Ordered from here on a whim because we wanted something different than the usual foods that downtown has to offer. We ordered the Chana Masala and the Chicken Madras, with a side of the Paneer Kulcha. It was everything we had hope for and more. Despite it being takeout, my order was precisely correct, and more importantly, all of the food was delicious and fresh. I will definitely be returning in the very near future.

I’m big on the atmosphere of restaurants, which I don’t like here reducing my stars to 4 instead of 5. But the food is definitely a 5! Very delicious. They have a small patio I recommend checking out on a nice day.
