Stopped in for a coffee with a big breakfast. Huge serving but didn’t cost a fortune. Was very happy with the service and staff were polite. Has the best view and coffee tasted amazing.

Kind of went there out of pity as they had no customers and the place next door had plenty. Others did arrive. Reasonable welcome. Family feel for regulars.Didnt get the food that I ordered, but it was close. Nothing fancy, but all okay. Good views. Okay prices. $25 for toastie, side and coffee. $$

Laid back, casual beach cafe. My vege brekky at 25 bucks was very tasty although a little expensive considering the ingredients and given the type of place this is. Service is quick and friendly and the menu has a good selection.

Nice place with good views and breakfast until 2. Had the American cheeseburger and avocado on bruschetta. It was ok but it wasnt spectacular by any standards. There is a kids menu which is useful

The owner is rude, gives different prices to different people on what seems like based on looks or returning customersI was very confused on what’s the prices were as the person before me got her coffee almost $1.50 cheaper than me for the SAME COFFEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The staff were very rude and I definitely won’t be visiting again and I’ll be sure to tell my friends and family to never step foot in this cafe

For a cafe called Liquid Gold, the coffee is mediocre-at best. Didn’t try the food. Staff were friendly. Good spot across from the beach.

Today we had a great experience at Liquid Gold Cafe. Loved the coffee (they use Crema Coffee Garage beans - velvety taste) and am definitely going back regularly for both the quality of coffee and the lovely hospitality that we received.

Had to wait 20 min for coffee and 40+ min for B&E roll. Coffee and food ok. Service very ordinary and some staff not happy to be there. Tables not getting wiped after people leave. Another customer had to wipe his own table down. Sorry, wont return.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Terrible service, and found the waitress to be very rude. Took 45mins for a bacon and egg roll (take away mind you) and after all that time waiting the food was very average. If you’re going to have people waiting outside on a hot day, please have the decency to advise how long the expected wait time is.

Awesome view however it took over 40 minutes for 2 Egg’s Benedict’s. The coffee came out within 5 minutes however by the time the food came out my drink was close to ice cold. They seemed to have more than enough staff, and given that the cafe was quiet it makes me wonder whether the staff are being paid to do nothing out the back. Wouldn’t come back here again.

Just had the worst breakfast ever in this cafe. We waited for our order approx 45minutes for a burnt pancake considering there were only 2 tables occupied in the cafe. Stay away!

Best Breakfast in town with a fantastic view

If you want to wait for an hour, on a non busy day, for a 5 minute breakfast meal, that is not even that good, or special, then please come to this place.We waited over 1 hour for just an avocado smash, big breaky and poached avocado. This would have taken 10 minutes at most. When the food came, portions were so little, it made prices over expensive by 2x.Do not go!

Was here on the weekend. The lady who served us seemed hostile to say the least. (its quite odd esp. because everyone else that we came across in Newcastle smiled and was generally friendly.)The inside of the restaurant seemed more like an oven, they definitely need aircon in there.Food is also extremely overpriced (esp. the special of the day, which was avo on eggs benny.We got our food on time, however there were several others who didnt and even turned people away saying they were under-staffed.Wont be visiting here again for sure.

What can i say nothing positive at all. 4 of us Came here for lunch bad mistake waste of money and will be calling health inspector. Took 40 minutes for a wrap with hardly anything in it.. meals came out seperately not sure they should b running a restaurant or know how to. 2 to 3 grubby dirty looking people.in back kitchen not wearing gloves.... not acceptable!! Avoid this place at all costs felt sick after eating... clean youre establishment and clean youre staff... this place should be closed down! Appalling

Unfortunately our B&E rolls took close to 40 mins on what we thought seemed pretty quiet. Didnt help that people who had order takeaway after us had gotten theirs before hand. I never like bad reviews but I was pretty disappointed as we had to extend our parking due to the wait.

The best service! My children have anaphylaxis to many foods, and we were assured that they would be able to create something safe for them to eat. We were shown ingredient labels and told how they would cook things in the kitchen to be safe. What is normally a stressful breakfast outing for an allergy family, turned out to be an enjoyable breakfast for all! Thank you!

We had a breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon. Not sure what they do with the eggs (fresh) but were so delicious we went back the next day. Service was great, aware of customer needs. The coffee was very good.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE....Breaky ordered for 4eggs, 6small tomatos, mushrooms, 4slices toasted bread. This all took them over 45mins...There were hard pieces of something on my plate asked the chef he said must be from grill last nite!!!!!!!!!! Seriously .......no care factor at all. All that cost us $90 EXTREMELY EXPENSES.....HORRIBLE experience...

Decent view of the beach with a nice homely feel to the cafe. You will find nice burgers and decent quality coffee along with standard customer service.If youre after a super cafe with 5 star service this place may not be for you, however a treat if you want a quick bite for brunch and coffee.

Awesome service and even better food. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend the burger and fries for $16. My wife is also gluten free and usually struggles with GF bread options but she had the toastie GF and loved it. Bonus - beach view!

It was OK. The banana thick shake was great but my partners orange juice wasnt that bad.Nice people. Food was dull. Steak sandwich was rough, well done meat & plain.My partners feta & pesto gnocchi was just full of sauce. Hardly any gnocchi.View was beautiful, the only problem was the food I guess & specials arent really Special. Simple put togethers.

Met at the door with a friendly smile and my time at Liquid Gold continued to get better.The location on Newcastle Beach is perfect.The menu had great options with everything priced in the 20 - 30 dollar range.There is a place out the front for my partner and I to park our bikes.All and all you wont go wrong at Liquid Gold for breakfast or lunch.

Nice location, but terrible otherwise! I ordered my burger when there was only 2 other people present. However, about 6 other people placed orders shortly after mine.It took ages & for weekday lunch, I had to have it packed to go as my whole lunch hour was almost gone with the long wait. Other (more complicated) orders were delivered before mine. As the server realized I was getting impatient she studiously avoided me & any eye contact.Then I found the pattie was not cooked through & therefore largely inedible.I had tried to ignore the fact that the kitchen staff looked dischevelled & dirty, but now I feel sick.Hoping it doesn’t turn into real food poisoning!

Overpriced and absolutely trash service. 40 minute wait for the food to come out separately and half the order was wrong. The waiter seemed to completely avoid all eye contact when she realise; people were annoyed and unimpressed and made no effort to rectify it. Food was also average at best. If I could give this review less than 1 star I would.

Went there last week. Food & drinks were yummy but the waiter guy with the glasses was a bit rude, unfriendly and over the top. He should be seen but not heard. The girls were fantastic though and made me feel great.

Was willing to give this place a go since previously had a nice coffee here years ago but I think it must have changed hands or something. Went there and terribly disappointed. Coffee is the worse one in the area by a long way. Can see why Estabar is always packed and this place isnt. The staff are friendly enough (hence the one star) but thats not enough reason to go. Service is also very slow. I do not recommend. Plenty of better places in the area. Dont waste your money. Maccas is better.

The coffee was nice - tho tbh the mugs/cups were unnecessarily big, which I found diluted the flavour of the coffee. And the crema on the long blacks were non existent.I did find the service to be mostly friendly - bar one.In terms of the food. The first time we went it was pretty good - very hearty, tasty, nothing fancy. However the second time we went it was much more average. I ordered smashed avo on sourdough, but they brought it out on a single round slice of Turkish bread, which had been cut in half. When I asked why there was no sourdough, the waitress said they had run out. Still charged me full price for what was essentially two scoops of mashed avo on a slice of Turkish bread. The bacon and egg rolls looked pretty good - but nothing special. My mum had the eggs Benedict, which she described as nice, but no frills.Overall - it was nice and I wasnt unhappy with it - but in my opinion, the price point is what youd expect for something a little more sophisticated - whereas this was a bit more on the average side of things.It did have a nice view and vibe though!

Went in for 3 drinks. Got the first 2 with no problems, but waited for 20 mins for the third. Once we asked where it was, we watched the waitress make one for herself before making ours. No apologies from staff.
