One of my favorite burger places in Jersey! The burgers and fries are always on point but I have to give the vegan options a HUGE shout-out because they have became my favorite option from Burger Walla; more specifically the Samosa Burger. Perfect salty sweet combo (dont even get me started on those pickles) and if you get the combo theres always more than enough fries to share or save for later! (Sorry my photos are trash I was ready to take a bite lol)

However the takeaway/pick-up/delivery experience is A1.I ordered (delivery)for the first time yesterday. First, the thoughtful attention paid to preparing my order was obvious.Someone had taken the time and attention to write my name in beautiful script across the brown paper bag with a message encouraging me to let us know how were doing. **Instantly impressed.** That level of attention to detail and thoughtfulness just isnt as common. THEN I tasted my Veggie Samosa burger. BOMB. I had it with the Indian style bread. That was a solid decision.I loved it so much, I decided to have it again for lunch today. I actually stopped by the restaurant to pick up my order and found out THE LOVELY JASMINE was to credit for the awesome delivery experience I had.Between Jasmine and the awesome food this place is a GO TO.

Vegetarian food that is so flavorful with wonderful spices, definitely an alternative to all those imposible and beyond burgers. My favorite sides were the sweet potato tots and cauliflower nuggets. The mango coconut juice was delicious! Friendly staff, great service and very reasonable considering the portions and size of veggie burgers. I highly recommend Burger Walla.

The burgers themselves are pretty solid but nothing too special. I really did like the fries and available sauces here though. Haven’t been able to try the shrimp burger but want to one day as I hear great things.

Everyone should try the veg samosa burger! It is absolutely delicious. The chili is also really good. I honestly could eat here multiple times a week.

Happy to see The Walla is open again! We ordered a samosa sandwich and a chicken breast sandwich, both really good. Chicken was tender and samosa was crispy. Lots of fun sauces to chose from too! Staff are really friendly. Looking forward to eating here again!

Despite the seemingly at odds situation you would perceive yourself to have in an Indian inspired hamburger joint. (They worship cows in India) The burger was fantastic. The samosa was great, and the fries were perfect. There were options for vegetarian & surprisingly lamb burgers as well. I was only passing through town. I definitely would return for another go if I visit here again.

Flavor in the burger & vegetables are savory. Crisp but not hard. Soft but not falling apart. Will definitely be back next time I’m in New Jersey.

Their burgers are unique really made from fresh mince and are not greasy but moist and juicy.I am a burger fan and this by far is the best burger in north jersey.These are the real gourmet burgers.Kudos !!!!

Burgers are small. Hot dog skinniest. Lamb burger was good but very small. Place is okay. When you add up the condiments price goes up. Five Guys is a much better experience in comparison.

Very disappointed to find that this place has rebranded as entirely vegetarian. This wouldnt be so much of a problem if they didnt also jack up the prices. The veggie burger tastes nice, but it is nowhere substantial enough to warrant costing $8. With fries youre looking at $11+ for lunch in an area with many competitively priced options for under $10. I sincerely hope they return to their old menu so I can continue supporting a local business. Otherwise, it is unlikely Ill be back.

I really really love this place! Last summer I lived off their Lassis !! The food is fresh and never reheated! The staff is super friendly and knows me by name!!

This was a nice little find! A coworker recommended the place, and Im glad he did. The staff were awesome, welcoming me for the first time and guiding me through the process. I decided to order their signature lamb burger, and boy was it worth it. Aside from being just a little on the dry side, the flavor was exceptional. Their walla sauce is also very tasty. I got the veggie burger to go, and I wasnt as enthused about it as I was the lamb. They use a variety of vegetables for the patty, and I just think some of the flavors threw me off. Im also big on texture, and there were giant chunks of spinach in the burger which I didnt care for. Their fries and sweet potato tots were fried to perfection and were delicious. Overall, I enjoyed the food and would be willing to go back.

Checked this place out after reading the reviews on Yelp and this place did not disappoint! Ordered the Lamb burger (switched out the goat cheese for white cheddar cheese) and was surprised at how good this burger was that I was seriously thinking about ordering another to go (try the spicy mayo...I got mine on the side). I also ordered the walla wings which were also really good. Ill definitely be back soon.

The burgers are great and their goat cheese was excellent. I really enjoyed their fries as well. The serving sizes are appropriate, though the prices are somewhat steep. There are no waiters, but service is prompt at the counter. There are imported sodas, which my friend enjoyed, and the flavors are varied. Recommend it.

Order the double lamb patty burger came out to $14. That made me really really sad, because although it was quite a yummy burger - it is not worth $14. I dont believe all these secret spices were really in my burger patty to make the price difference that acceptable. The fries which were $3-4 were okay, crunchy but super greasy from being over-fried, although the spicy ketchup, spicy mustard and spicy mayo mixtures were quite nice for dipping.It is great that I tried this place once but I dont need to come back since my order came out to $18 and I believe for that price, this fast food place definitely did not live up to the hype. I would be just as happy at five guys or burgerfi or shake shack honestly!So next time they charge that much they better deliver on flavor, quantity, service, and decor. This is clearly supposed to be a college burger place - with wall street burger prices? Its nuts!

The food here is pretty great. The burgers are a bit small but still pretty filling. You do get quite a bit of fries for your money though. Would definitely recommend the chicken burger.

Aside from the fact that I now smell like a french fry (ventilation problem temporary?) I was really happy with this place. I hadnt seen it before despite a few dozen trips along that block - perhaps a sandwich board outside would help to get more attention? The staff were extremely friendly and were all working hard as a team. Each one was in constant motion as they looked to see what they could do next. I had a Walla Dog and sweet potato tots - both of which were excellent. I wish the dog would have been a little bigger, but for the $3.00 price point I didnt expect it. I would have happily paid another $1-2 for a bigger one. Highly recommend this place. Will definitely be back regularly.

Excellent place for burgers, wings and fries in Newark. It is definitely one of my favorite restaurants to visit. The Walla sauce is so amazing on the wings. I know there is burger in the name but I really really really love their wings. Every burger is delicious, there is no way for you to go wrong here. Im not sure which one to even recommend because they are all equally tasty. I would definitely say that youll probably just have to try all of them. The fries and tots are a must have with every meal. The staff is always super friendly and accommodating. They also have Boylans on tap. How much more lovely can a burger place get? I also really like that they do a special burger of the month, usually only available in the beginning of the week. Definitely check this place out!

I discovered Burger Walla as part of a tour if Newark. I must say I was impressed. My burger was cooked to order and the fries were delicious,and a large helping! I love fries so I had no complaints whatsoever. I suggest they get a larger sign so that people will know where they are. I drove right pass it and had to circle back! It was worth it. Definitely recommend a try.

Burger Walla - 3Burger Walla advertises itself as a burger joint with an Indian twist. I found the burger good, but didnt really see the Indian part. There is a lamb option with goat cheese and some Indian spice in the blend of meat, but I could have used way more spice which would have lent a more unique flavor. As it was, the burger was good, but didnt stand out much. The fries on the other hand were pretty boring, even with cheese. The idea of pepper jack cheese sounds excellent, but it was a bit disappointing in execution. These cheese solidified pretty quickly and mostly made the fries mushy. The spicy mayo was pretty tasty though. The wait was fairly long for a fast casual place, though it may have been due to a birthday party going on inside. They could use a bit more seating for the lunch crowd. While it wasn’t life altering, it’s good enough to enter the lunch rotation compared to some of the other nearby places.

In Indian culture, a walla is a salesperson or specialist, and the couple who run the place add, We are your Burger Walla. We did takeout from Burger Walla (not Walla Burger), prepared with some of the many spices Asian Indian food is famous for: A house-made Veggie Burger with caramelized onions, spicy mustard and mango chutney on a whole-wheat bun ($7); Curry Cauliflower and Chickpeas ($3.50), and Sweet Potato Tots ($3). We also took out vegetarian, Punjabi-style Samosas stuffed with potatoes (2 for $5). Burger Wall also serves hallal chicken. You order at the register and pick up your food at the counter. Tables and chairs are in the rear of the place, which is a few blocks from the Rutgers University campus in Newark.

If you are into well crafted burgers this is the place for you. They use amazing ingredients and make the burgers from scratch. The proof is in the pudding.

First time I have been down this side in awhile leisurely, bit glad i had the time to do so. Stumbled upon this place based on an art series in The Hanes building across the street. The food was good. I would definitely come back and recommend to anyone to try them out

Such a great experience! The food was reasonably priced and my Chicken Walla melted in my mouth! It was SO good. The sweet tater tots were perfect as well! Paired with some interesting sauces it was a pleasant way to spend lunch.

A great place with delicious food and friendly, efficient staff that is incredibly clean. Since it was our first time, we ordered the burger wallas, fries, and mango lassie.We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.It is a short walk from the Episcopal Cathedral, the museum and NJPAC.But, even though we live up in Sussex, we may drive down just for the burgers (hint to owners we could use one of these up in Sussex - I bet the 3 seasons of tourists we get up here would love it as would the locals ;) )

With a variety of unexpected flavors striking from their non stereotypical burgers, they create a superior palate stimulating blend capable of making you enjoy additions that were previously undesired for some on a burger. As a personal hater of colesaw and pickles, they have made me love both in their salmon and lamb burgers respectively. Keep an eye out for the burgers of the month in which you may experience even more surprising flavors (on Mondays and Tuesdays).

DELICIOUS! This family own resturant is much more than a burger joint. Non-beef and vegetarian options are built into the menu, not just substitutions. A great place to check out.

We ate at Burger Walla this weekend and it was wonderful! I had a lamb burger, which was the best I ever had. All too often lamb burgers can be on the dry side, but here it (a double walla lamb) was juicy and flavorful. My wife had a double cheeseburger which was also delicious and juicy. We also really enjoyed the sweet potato fries, which had a nice taste and were similar to tater tots but not greasy, and the cauliflower side which was well-spiced. The lassies were great too, comparable to what one might get at a good Indian restaurant. I had the banana/milk one and my wife mango/coconut milk, and we were both happy. Our two year old happily partook in the feast. The service was friendly and helpful, and the place was clean and comfortable. It is a great addition to Halsey Street and we look forward to returning!

Not sure how the Walla gimmick plays in, theres little Indian here, especially since beef is the main meat, but their burgers are pretty good. Be careful during a lunch rush, their process for dealing with a lot of people needs a lot of work and you can be left waiting a long while. That said, the food is good, its one of the better burger places in the neighborhood.

Went in here because I thought it was some sort of nouveu Indian restaurant... And it kind of is. Very attentive service, great burgers. Fries could use some work, despite lots of great toppings. Menu is complicated, but they will help you out. A solid joint.

This was my first time ordering from this restaurant and I was disappointed. I ordered the veggie burger and fries. My friend ordered the beef burger and sweet potato tots and she liked her food. My veggie burger was burnt and I called back to let them know and the young lady told me thats how are they cooked, with a char/burnt. I didnt like it and as a paying customer I shouldve been compensated. Burnt and well done are 2 different things. Will I give them another chance, maybe but I most definitely will not order the veggie burger again.

Food is delicious. Well made and filling. It is located on Halsey Street near Central Avenue. If you know downtown Newark, its behind wholefoods. Near Rutgers.

Its your typical Smashburger-type establishment that goes for a higher level of quality than McDonalds or Burger King. I had the Walla Chicken without the caramelized onions, and it was very good chicken burger. The ground chicken was infused with cilantro which helped to combat the overall plainness/dryness of that ground chicken typically has. I found the walla sauce that comes with the sandwich to be a little bit bland; it was mostly just sweet with very little other flavor. Next time I think I would substitute it with one of the other sauces. I got some spicy ketchup from the sauce bar and it definitely had a bit of a kick to it so I added that to my burger as well.

Definitely worth the trip... Great chicken & beef burgers, samosas, peanut butter brownies, coconut pound cake, too much to list! Always friendly service and always fresh food. You wont regret it!

What can I say other than WOW! This burger place, with an unpretentious, simple straight forward menu. Friendly staff, fresh made food with top quality ingredients. From the first bit of the amazing Walla beef burger to the last was an experience I did not want to end. I also ordered cheese fries that lived up to there name cheesy and delicious. No salty prosessed cheese sauce only stringy cheese apon golden hand cut fries. This place is a top pick and is on my list of goto places when I want great food.

Good food but they got our order wrong an its not that high quality. I just always think man McDonalds or Burger King taste better an is cheaper almost every time I go to a burger joint like this. Believe me its NOT TERRIBLE jus think if youre gonna eat greasy fast food youll prob save yourself some fat and calories going to a chain restaurant.

Owner is super cool/ friendly and the staff is great visited on numerous occasions and everything was great.

Its a bit of a stretch to call it fusion food but it does a offer a decent veggie burger. That being said I dont think a spicy veggie burger is that great which is why it only gets 3 stars.

Such yummy food! Well spiced food (with lots of vegan options), large portions and lovely staff make this place a winner in my book.I was surprised to see people thought it was expensive. We spent $20 for 2, and Ive definitely gotten smaller portions elsewhere for more. Given the quality of the food being served and its deliciousness, it was a bargain in my book!Seating is great, staff is great, food is great. We loved the cauliflower and chickpeas and the vegan chili and their fries and tots are perfectly hot and crunchy. You cant go wrong!
