Its always a joy to have gr8 chinese food.. after Bengali cuisine..its my personal favourite. So..if u love chinese..n live around CC2, try The Orient. A gr8 place with traditional red ambience befitting of the place.. the food is very good. The starter ..Gai Sai Takrai we repeated..had hakka noddles mixed, Prawn with Chili n mushroom, Chilli basil fried rice.. all were pat for the course.. its a bit pricey..if u ask me..n one of the prawn didnt seem fresh..apart frm that..everything was excellent... staff were courteous n service prompt..
Ambience was okay,Food was a bit pricy.Portion was just right. The best thing about Orient is indeed the taste and flavours of the food, each and every dish was delicious, absolutely loved them. And lastly, Staffs were cooperative. If your main priority is great food, and the other things doesnt really matter, then Orient is worth a visit.
Went to the Orient at city centre 2, located in the Ground floor just beside Afraa, this place is very well decorated. Provides great quality chinese food. They are offering a set menu where you can get both veg and non veg (529 & 579 respectively) spread. We took the non veg one and it started with a cup of green tea, 3 starters, one soup, a salad, Fried rice and noodles for main course, two side dishes including one fish and one chicken. For dessert there was the Darsaan and vanilla ice cream.Overall the food was good, however the ice cream was a little frozen on the inside and lacked taste.Maintaining proper safety protocols, you can surely visit this place for some great chinese food.
Here is my experience of the at THE ORIENT CC2.Their food quality has depleted a lot.Environment ambiance all well but the food according to price is not acceptable at all. Its very costly and will not fill your soul if your hungry.COKE CAN NORMALLY 30 RS BUT THE ORIENT PRICE 165..GUYS THINK
We ordered Chicken bao, chicken hakka noodles and Thai green chicken curry with Jasmine rice. Taste of the food was very good. But the bao which was served was damn cold and when we told them about it, they told that it is just prepared. However after repeated request, they served it after heating in microwave.

Ambience is really good. The food tastes great. The employees are really cooperative and suggests the best choice for the guests. Need to visit if anyone is planning an asian style date with ur girl and girl is foodie
They are taking unnecessary charges for package drinking water. They charges145/- whose MRP is 65/- when you asked them they said we can increase the price. And take too much time to serve the food.
The Orient is in the ground floor right beside the entrance of CC2. The ambience is really good with dim lighting and very polite and professional staff with masks and gloves on. If we talk about food, then the restaurant is on the higher end of the economy but the food is really very delicious and fulfilling. If you ever get a chance to visit, then try the Octopus fry and Lamb Bao. Its a family restaurant so no problem there. Drinks are also served. Do give Asian Fusion mocktail a try because the flavor is really comforting and soothing to the soul. :)

If I talking about their buffet they have buffet on table Which cost INR 499/- AI For VEG & INR 549/- AI for NON-VEG (12-4PM). Now in a la carte they have huge varieties of options from different cuisines but the interesting part is that they have just started their DIMSUM AND BAO Festival which is available from 15th Of Sept till before Druga Puja. Authentic Food. Taste Amazing and Fresh. All the dishes we took was really Yumm. And the ambience is so good.
This place is located at CC 2 in Newtown AA-2, Kolkata and is easily found using Google map. You may per book your table or enjoy a first come first service. We were a group of ladies who came to The Orient to celebrate our 2019 Friends Meet and we had a blast indeed.Service was good.Food was good with lots of varieties.Price was reasonable as per the buffet they served. We did enjoy our Lunch at The Orient and they were nice and polite in their service.
Yummy food. Excellent service. Highly recommended.
It was something unplanned for this place. As we were in City center 2, so we just dropped in randomly for lunch.Ambiance was pretty good. a warm vibe can be felt probably due to the color combination of the interior. We got our table as soon as we entered. Service was okay and the food quality was also okay.We had Chili basil fried rice which was okayish. quantity given was enough for two,along-with this we had stir fried chicken with assorted mushroom and ginger sauce. Food was not that spicy and easy to digest. Quality and quantity was good i must say. Even liquor was also available which depends on an individual to order so.Overall it is a bit over priced as per the taste is concern.
Delicious and hot indo-chinese food! Shalini recommended the best dishes and they lived up to the expectation set up.The dimsums were flavourful. The fried noodles with the wanton soup was fresh and crisp. The chilli oil was spicy! The fried rice was fluffy and delicious. None of the food was oily! The cleanliness can be improved, especially the toilets.
The staffs are worst and they are very much ignorant about customers even their attitude is rude, so please avoid this restaurant and there are so many good restaurants near to it.
Nyc ambience, NYC food.... Very sophisticated place....
This restaurant is tucked in a nook of City Center 2, initially I thought the entrance could be better lit up but as I walk in I realise its a part of the Oriental charm that the inside reflects, you are immediately hit by nice aromas all around you and see a sight of fresh food. Speaking of food, I wasnt disappointed by a single thing on the menu, the garlic pepper fish was one of the best I ever had. Do not forget to try the coconut and lemon grass mojito! Couldnt get any more interesting and refreshing than that. The neatly divided nooks make it even more better to enjoy your food!
Food tasty and good qualityProfessional and First come first serviceComfortable place
Good Chinese food. Best was fish preparation served as starter, even chicken dim sum in starter was also awesome.Desserts are less in quantity compared to other buffet but all of them tastes too good
Loved the interior. Food was also quite good. Bit expensive though
First of all, the orientation of the seats felt wrong, it was as if my friend was feeling cozy seated near a painting and I was sitting down the hallway. Now about the ambience, the restaurant was vacant, and It felt as if no one worked there, we ordered our dishes and we had to wait for someone to call to, just to make an order or to get our dish served. Now that is completely pathetic. The food was average and totally overpriced, and the drinks were expensive too, enjoy spending 400rs on a simple beer. Cheers!!!
Nice place with delicious food
Pricing is much higher compared to the food quality, which is not up to the mark..
Probably one of the best oriental food joints of the city. Staffs are too courteous and the food is absolutely delicious.
Superb food and specially I love the the sitting arrangements.
Located on the ground floor of City Centre 2 at Rajarhat, The Orient is a good place to have chinese.
A beautiful place with delicious Asian food.
Very good service. Specifically their signature dishes.
The ambiance is amazing. Food is very standard too.
The Orient@CC2, rocks with its own cuisine abd style. Interrior decorations are superb. You can get your own private block or space. Quality of food are just awesome. Personally i liked their buffet style. You dont have to got to the food again and again. They bring food to you whatever you want with live preparation. This place is one of the best restaurants with reasonable and affordable prices in kolkata.
Serves A-la-carté and buffet both. They specialize in oriental cuisines like chinese, thai, malaysian, japanese. The buffet price is reasonable at 750 and u can also add alcohol (whiskey or vodka) for 200 rps more. The buffet dishes were served hot and were precisely good. But u cant expect a variety of starters like barbeque nation. The ambience and decor is really good. Suitable for a couple dine-out.
Nice ambience..private seating areas... cool music.. good PAN Asian cuisine available
The restaurant presents you with exotic mouthwatering Japanese thai and Chinese cuisine. The vibrant ambience they share is also fantastic.
Here is my experience of the BUFFET AT ORIENT CC2.Their food quality has depleted a lot. Their starters were okay. However things got worse from the soup that we were given, followed by main course. However their dessert was tasty. It ended well.Review:-Food quality:The quality was bad. The soup was blend and tasteless. The main course tasted refrigerated, not fresh. We couldnt finish up with the noodles, rice and salad because they smelt stinky and the taste was pungent. Probably it was a day old.Ill give 3/10Hygiene:We were not given sanitizer after the entry. Our temperature was not measured. The food was one of the things to worry about, not hygienic.Ill give 5/10Price:The price for buffet was 549. The amount that had been given was reasonable, we could repeat anything. But again, the quality was compromised. So yes, 549 was not worth it.Overall experience:Moderate. Over all rating:4/10.Good luck.
A place with great Chinese food with some unusual Chinese sauce and of course a chilled beer.🍻
The quality of food is below average, the tomyum hardly had any mushroom and the shrimp was small. Overall its not worth the price.
Nice ambience and nice Chinese cuisine
This is located on ground floor or CC2 -Rajarhat. It is decorated with vibrant red color. Most of the tables are separated to give more privacy and that is really good.Foods are okay. Soups were not good and we didnt get any taste...not sweet...not sour...not tangy or salty. But octopus fry , lamb with friend lotus root were great.Service quality is very poor. Didnt provide any handkerchief or tissue . We asked for tissue 2-3 times and it took about 15min to provide. Spoons had marks of dirty fingers.
The place is awesome. The crockery used is the best part. Good space available, good taste and quantity but they are inefficient in managing the crowd. Prices are on an upper side.
The ambience is very nice... Just do not buy mineral water of ₹20..It is going to cost u somewhere close to ₹95...the taste and quality of the food match the absolute standard
The quality of food has got degraded horribly. The new staff does not know of their own rules and regulations. The dining experience was horrible. Staff fighting about free repeat drinks. Zomato will tell you 20% off on Pro dining. Restaurant will not give that. The billed something which was not served. It will take me 2 pages to write so much. It was like some wedding getting crashed. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
The ambience is nice. Food is good too. Only the prices are a bit on the higher side and they charge 5% service charge on the whole bill without notifying you.
Food was very good. Ambience too. Service aswell.
Awesome cozy place for dineout.
Very very happy with warm hospitality. All Staff are very much cooperative.Very good quality and testy food.Tried Buffet here....Very very much reasonable price.Wanna be there again.....Suggesting as a must try....
Good food, great ambience and prompt service
I had completed my dinner there and the food was delicious.
Food is decent but service is quite slow.
Food is good. Not recommended in covid cause 1) employees are not wearing mask properly (mask loose hanging on neck) 2) there is no screening for temperature 3) tables and seats are not getting cleaned properly and not getting sanitised at all
Ambience and food quality were really very good. Tried the open bao for the first time and it was delicious. Staffs are courteous. Overall experience is good.
I have to say the décor is just fabulous. I went there during Unlock 5.0, and its really amazing how they have maintained the place even during Covid.Coming to the food, I had the Stir fried Pork with Chilli Garlic and Holy Basil, along with Mixed Hakka Noodles. They were simply delicious. Ive had very few pork dishes where the meat was so tenderly cooked.I had a Bloody Mary (too much Tabasco sauce) and a Cosmopolitan (a bit too sweet) as well.Overall, I really good place to go to with friends or family.
Good place for having oriental cuisine
Just posted..! This is a must-visit restaurant. This is our 2nd visit. Super..! Hope they retain this food quality. Almost Michelin star taste. Lunch buffet 12:30-3:30 is buffet in a-la-carte style. Distancing maintained very nicely. Each item in appetizer, soup or main dish was excellent. Desert was Darshan.
Good food and ambiance!
Nice food, pleasant ambience, fast and cordial service, recommend for families and friends and couples.
Orient is the one stop destination for Pan Asian food. Excellent ambience, nice themed decor and tasty food which satiates my taste buds everytime I visit this place. Visited this place some time ago and we ordered the following items:▶️ Thai style crispy chicken with galangal and lemon grass: well cooked chicken and tossed perfectly in the spices and the sauce.▶️Sliced roasted lamb with snow peas and Chinese barbq sauce: A bit spicy yet juicy and tender and week cooked meat.▶️ Wok fried noodle mixed: a concept similar to gravy chowmein but the gravy is simpl amazing with lots of Thai herbs and spices. The food shown here is given in enough quantity to serve for two people.
Cozy looking Oriental restaurant in the city center Mall, gives a promise of great food. Went on a family lunch and choose the alacarte option over buffet. The dimsums and the soup are perfectly made for starters. We then moved on to adventurous and ordered for Malaysian and Chinese dishes. But was utterly frustrated with the taste, not being anywhere close to the original. On another occasion we tried the treriyaki dishes and lamb which was good. The taste is overall not as exciting as the menu. There are also some interesting desserts as well.Overall its a go-to place when in Newtown City center.
This place is good for its food, we enjoyed the food which we ordered few days ago. Healthy and super quality. Will come down to dine at this place soon. Thanks guys.👌😊
Great food awesome experience
Very good place for having food. The quality is awsome. They also maintain the hygiene & standard.
Nice Place for Shopping, entertaining, different types of food is available here. Like special tea from t junction, KFC chicken, wow momo.
The ambience is really great. Food was really awesome.
Nice ambience, staffs are excellent in guiding customers to their choices and appetites
Overly priced
Such a nice & cozy place to have some awesome foods.
I didnt like the taste. I thought the taste would be amazing after seeing the ratings and all but i was wrong.
Al a Carte is great, but did not enjoy the buffet spread.
Environment ambience all well but the food according to price is not acceptable at all. Its very costly and will not fill your soul if your hungry.
