Delicious food and great atmosphere. We stopped here because my partners dad sold the restaurant to the current owners when she was a kid, and it didnt disappoint.

The food tasted good but was very spicy for us. And not much variety on the buffet

Having been to many Indian restaurants before, this was a not so great experience food wise & overall experience. Staff did not seemVery welcoming & one of the members in our party got a bit of an attitude from one of the staff members. Flavor overall lacked in much of the food. When items were asked to be spicy, had a littleMore flavor but not everyone can handle spice. Tikka masala base tasted very much tart and like tomatoes. One item that was good was the naan. Food takes a while to come out, even considering it wasn’t very busy. Would not return!

The owner was courteous, but just did not like the food. Samosa tasted good but was too salty, other items did not feel too fresh.

Very nice Buffet, great service and reasonable prices. The curried goat was among the best I have eaten. The only downside was that I did not have room for the included dessert.

Food was great, authentic Desi food and reasonably priced. Naan could be slightly crispier but was still good. Would love to see some favorites like Malai Tikka and Bihari Kebab.The owner/manager was being quite mean to the waiter who made a few simple mistakes. Please treat her better.

I went here for lunch with a friend for a get-together for graduation and it was amazing! Ive never had Indian food before and I loved it! I absolutely loved the vegetable samosas and the garlic naan was great.

Since I decided to try delivery from here, I haven’t gotten anything from another Indian place in New Haven. Owner is a cool guy too!

Great Halal food. Could be more spicy for the levels called. Portions are huge! Very full-filling.

The lamb kebabs were very dry and you have to use the the same silver ware for the entire meal, just new plates. Naan was okay, as well as the chai. The chicken wasn’t tender. Also the owner, waiter was rude to my mother.

The best indian food Ive had in connecticut so far! The restaurant is extremely clean, the people who work there are like a well oiled machine. The gentleman who runs it is always dressed in above average respectability, and their food tastes homemade... Like all of it. The lamb samosas and side accoutrements are like entering grandmas house, the quality of ingredients dont taste cheap and undeveloped. so so homey. Thank you!!

This will be my go to place going forward!! Naan is so delicious, I never knew Naan could be so tasty.. one must try vegetable Pakoda as well (non oily and fresh always).. and curries are always good here!!

This place has good food and will change milk products to coconut milk. They poured our champagne for us. They were nice and courteous to us. Its cleaning.

The samosas are the most delicious...well everything is, and my order always arrives quickly.

This is the best place for Indian food in New Haven HANDS DOWN. If you go for their lunch buffet, wear your stretchiest pants, you won’t know when to stop! It’s the deal of the century for $10 and some change for all you can eat. I’ve eaten there in the evenings and for delivery as well and it has been delicious every single time. Nothing fancy as far as ambience, as they seem to have an old school vibe but service is great and food is delicious.

Excellent authentic Indian cuisine. The staff is very nice and treat you like family. It is the finest Indian restaurant in New Haven. Its inexpensive and the meals are well prepared. Even my Brahman friends love that restaurant.

Good food. Fast service. Good veg and non-veg options. I would say non veg options (chili chicken, wings, lamb curry etc) were really good. Veg soup was good as well. Deserts were just OK. Overall good value.

Second time eating here. First time with a friend and this time with my fiancé for our anniversary. Food was great both times! The staff are very friendly and attentive. Food prices are affordable. Will recommend!

We havent found an Indian restaurant we love more and we havent really needed to look! Love them for delivery and for their lunch buffet. They give great portions of the protein in their sauces. Not 3-4 chunks like other places deliver. And the waitstaff has always been extremely friendly! Even being super sweet to our rambunctious 1 year old who also loves the food. Highly recommend!

Very Bad experience and rude staff.At the restaurant, I only asked if the chicken is Halal before ordering my food and the man taking my order replied “It’s not! you should have asked me while entering the hotel” and he repeated the same multiple times in different ways until I walked outside the door.

The best authentic Indian Cuisine in New Haven. We got their 2 dinner special for $37 which includes two entrees one with meat one without, soup, and dessert. We had the Saug and Butter chicken. It was the most delicious I have ever had of either dish. They also have a great beer and wine list. The service was fantastic!

Great diner. Great buffet. Great price. A treasured New Haven institution, that, at least for my sake, I’m glad is not Yale.

The food is quite good. But honestly, do you just slap your customers on the chair back to urge them to move when the people behind you need more space? That is sheer rudeness. I went here often because I like the food and if this is just for one or two times during busy hours I can understand. But things like this happen repeatedly as if they are trying to ensure you that you are not welcomed here. I will never come again.

It is a shame as I was there today and have ordered from them in the past. The food is good but their customer service skills are very unprofessional. They bring the check to the table before you have completed your meal and this is the second time this has occurred. I was unable to get dessert or make any other orders to my table. We were going to have tea and coffee, losing a potential sale as well as ongoing consumer. I will be sure to let all my friends and business colleagues know as well.

Had to order to go due to covid situation. Ordered the chicken tikka masala and the sag paneer. Neither was outstanding, but worth it for lunch or a quick bite. If youre looking for something authentic, try somewhere else.

Decent Indian foodI went for a lunch buffet about an hour before it ended, but already many dishes were out. They cooked more and brought some, but not all of the dishes. Still, it was decent food for the price.

This is some of the best Indian Ive had and for great prices too. I especially like how they have a scale of 5 degrees of spiciness so you can dial in exactly the heat that you want. The shrimp korma is out of this world.

I ordered take out from here because I wanted to try a new spot for my birthday. I wish I could have had the food there because its a cool spot for sure but my issue was with the chicken tikka masala, and my order was wrong aswell. Ive been to several different indian restaurants around the state and NYC, the sauce on this one was overwhelming taste of just cayenne pepper. It was harsh and just really hard to eat. They had given me vegetable samosas instead of the meat ones I asked for, but those were tasty, just not what I had ordered. I feel bad writing a sour review, I would say try them for their other food but I dont recommend the chicken tikka masala. :(

Chicken tasted stale. Yellow dal was great. Salted yogurt drink was also one of the best tasted in many many years. Best was the parking next to the place.

Zero star for these guys .. wasted money ..One of the worst indian places I visited in US. Hospitality was worst.. They do this particularly to indians.. They seem lost or pretend lost when we ask for anything and everything. If you need good indian food then stay away from this Tandoor.

Me and two of my friends went there to check the menu the food was freaking expensive after checking we have decided not to eat and the person in charge came to us and literally yelled at us and asked now whats the problem?? And he has started to curse on us as we didnt eat and sit there to check the menu... not recommended at all. Had worst experience in the states.
