As I was on my periods asked the Assam bhawan gatekeeper for the washroom. He started shouting at me.And I was on something very critical but that gatekeeper shouted at me.The employee of Assam bhawan also asked his gatekeeper to be calm. But he started shouting at me.But I really want to ask. Mr Modi ji say ‘bharat ki betiya meri betiya hai. ‘So when that girls is in need, floated with bloods, then is the government employee the gatekeeper of Assam bhawan can’t help that girl for the same problem. Is this the way, he was wearing his uniform then also the way he has thrown me out of that place where he could just help me out at that critical situation. He shouted at me n disrespect me. He was like my father age.If this thing can be eliminated from our government side. I could proudly say that I m an Indian.I would never vote for any of the politician from now.I m a supporter of only mr Modi ji, ( not a party but his thought process.)But I m fed up seeing this torture from the government service man. After wearing uniform also is this the way they behave?

Not a good experience in the Restaurant of the Bhawan, as the food was too hot (TEEKHA/JOLAA), almost all the preparations were disproportionately hot that it spoiled the taste & as per the Assamese tradition, the food is not cooked that HOT, yes green raw chilli with KAAZI NEMU is taken as an additive as per personal choice & taste... I being an Assamese, went all the way to Assam Bhawan to have traditional Assamese food, but it was a great disappointment & came back with half filled stomach.... Kindly dont take this as a complaint, but it is a HONEST FEEDBACK.... I will give only one star...

Assam bhawan has opened again... Went with a high expectation... Ordered a veg thaali and a plate each of fish curry and pork fry... The thaali had very less dishes which I was not expecting.. The pork though was good..the fish had tamarind so the gravy was very sour.. Later I came to know they just opened on the 1st of August post covid... So they are still working on the menu...for now you may not find everthing thats mentioned on the menu.

Nice place with boarding and lodging. Authentic ambience and good food. Canteen is called Jakoi managed by private vendor. Outdoor and indoor seating with good ambiance and service. Food is authentic, non vegetarians will love the food. Their special is duck, pork and fish, chicken is available but taste was average. Veg and non veg thali available. Vegetarian can try baingan bhaji and one dish made of flowers of banana. Papaya is used in most of the dishes. Food is not oily at all. Rotis and Paneer dish available but it is not a place to eat Punjabi dishes. Try the Aasamee dishes. Service is good and prices are reasonable. Parking not allowed inside for general public but available outside. Walls of the bhawan outside are well decorated with details about diffrent places of Aasam. Overall a good experience.

After watching lots of videos on YouTube I finally discovered Assam bhawan canteen. The restaurant opens at 6.30 pm as per timing but they suggest you to come after 7pm (God knows why) . So we finally went inside and it was clean and neat with one more family seated. We were greeted by Mr Rehman , very sweet and polite man. As I already did my investigation previously so I jumped and ordered the Fish & Pork Thali. We enjoyed it except it was too bland for us but not anyone to blame. It was filling and not at all heavy. Pork was like naga bamboo shoots dish but on a oily side . The steamed fish in mustard paste was bit pungent if you are not familiar with mustard.Overall , you can visit and enjoy authentic assemies food . Both thali cost us 861 (including GST)

A high class restaurant is functional in this Bhawan, where you can enjoy lunch from 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM and dinner from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM. The cost is much higher than other restaurant, but the same can be compromised since traditional tasty Assamee food is available here. ID proof is necessary to enter into the canteen.

I visited for the first time here and I must say first impression was not good. BAANKAHI resturant is in basement with no direction and name mentioning this is resturant. Pretty average from looks. Not sure how will be the kitchen in terms of hygiene.I ordered a veg and non veg thali. Quantity is pretty less and taste was just so so. You will not get chapatis with thali (have to order separately). Chicken curry was just average, fish curry was having a very small bite of fish. Prices of thali: veg 225 and non veg 300. Go with zero expectations.

I went here for dinner at Bankhaiya canteen and the experience was awesome. The thali was really authentic and all the items were delicious. If one like spicy best place to satisfy the palate with their Jholokia chicken curry. The restaurant was humble, not so decorated but spacious enough. Washroom was not in good state. Clean place. Overall highly recommended.

A very good place for dining.Assamese and some Northeast Indian food items are available here. The place is neat and clean.Food is tasty, not very tasty of course because the food items like fish etc are not fresh, obviously because they are imported from other places. This place is good. But, I am giving them 4 stars due to three reasons :-1. Food is overpriced.2. Not very tasty food. Price is hence not justified. Mainly because, the fish items are not fresh.3. When you provide an assamese thali, you should atleast provide them free extra rice. And worse is, if you buy an extra plate rice, the quantity there too is extremely less

Since everything on the menu looks so great, you have authentic Assamese staff to assist you with trip of your nourishment situation. I would suggest the Parampara Thali with its wide cluster of dishes. With a natural invite drink to begin you off, youll be served Khar to clean your sense of taste and afterward Dal prepared with onions and coriander. Theres Pitika, squashed potato with mustard oil, cleaved green chillies and coriander, Duck Curry, fish cooked over charcoal and steamed in plantain leaves and tart Kahudi dry. Polish off with smooth rich Payesh. Most recommended - Parampara Thali

Quiet place in the basement; slightly costlier than other Bhawans with good food and option to try out spicy food. Preparation takes time but the staff is courteous. They dont always have fish and prawns are canned. The chilli gravy is very spicy; you will need to order Pepsi along with it; momos were good but took time to prepare. The chutneys are nice.
