South Asian University is indeed a wonderful campus. It have amazing buildings with great infrastructures. Receptionist were very friendly and helpful. Parking lot was really nice with large spaces. There were two separate facilities one being the university itself and the other one is for South Asian community. Located in the heart of Delhis municipal spot can make anyone comfort especially if they are new to the campus. Great ambience and non working staff humbleness can make feel welcomed to have assistance from them. The serenity of its surrounding environment is something that might remind you of those great institutions with mind blowing offerings.

Everything that you need from a university can be found here. A great international university with students from 8 saarc countries. Its great honour to be a student of this esteemed university. They focus on research a lot and if you want to build your career in research, this is one of the best options that you have right now in Delhi. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Nepal are the 8 countries contributed to building this university.

Because of their delayed response and poor management on the semester classes, our afgan brothers are facing serious life threatening issues.Still they are not at all for helping but rather giving deadlines. What can a management like that teach you if they themselves cannot take a stand when required.Shame

Its a so called international university with poor facilities. The administration is too bad to explain. In every 3-4 months students have to protest against universitys various inhuman, impractical, arbitrary decisions and measures. Internally its a corrupt institution. There is no accountability in this university. Though faculties are good to some extent, however due to internal conflict among faculty members students do not get expected outcome from them. Teachers try to create groups among the students and evaluate them accordingly i.e. they do not evaluate in the exam based on performance but based on who oils them sufficiently. The high officials and teachers are highly paid (3500-8000$) here and students get insufficient scholarship. For example till September 2016, PhD student were receiving rs 10000/- and some masters students were receiving (rs 3000-7000) in different categories. Now though PhD students are getting 25000 as a result of massive protest in 2016 to increase scholarships, however, yet it is not equivalent to India JRF/SRF. During this Covid-19 pandemic SAU authority showed its incompetence, during the first wave several times they forced students to vacate the hostel where mostly foreign students resides. This attitude of admin continued in this second wave of Pandemic. Finally, though this University has the potential to be a good institution, however if it runs in the same way it is now, in near future it will collapse. As funding of this university is coming from 8 south asian countries, these countries need to be strict to the admin and make them accountable. The power that the registrar exercise in this university should be curtailed. Indian all internal politics (right/middle/left) should be banned within the campus and if found anyone involved must be kicked out of the university.

Probably, it is near diplomatic enclave in New Delhi as I saw a few embassies of European countries on the map. Moreover, Name Akbar reminds me of sulh-e-kul (peace for all) policy of Mughal emperor and his love to discuss and learn from other experiences.I think that organisational behaviour of this institute will reflect a change from its surroundings because of the fact it represents the more than one nationality ( viz 8 SAARC COUNTRIES ) and their govts. contribute from the hard-earned money of their respective tax-payers.

I did MA in Dev. Economics at South Asian University (SAU), I think it was an outstanding opportunity for me to study there. The faculties are always cooperative and recognized for their academic excellence. It has extensive research focus which makes it even more lucrative for future researchers of South Asia. I belief that,it will be the best place for study in South Asia in the coming days.

It has been more than 5 years in South Asian University. Since I have been here from its starting I have seen a mixed experience. Its a new university so it will take time to overcome problems. The best achievement is to learn to live with multi-ethnic people from the SAARC region.

Unforgetable place in my life. Where i found rich faculty and different country classmates. They all are too much cooperative and helpful. To explore yourself, i think SAU is the best place in our subcontinent. Missing journey of sau, hostel life, watching cricket match with all saarc nations friends. It was really a precious memory of my life.Development Economics(Batch, 2014-15)
