I came to know about Dastangoi in the year 2009 when I met Mahmood Farooqui and team performing at NCPA, Mumbai. It was a mesmerizing experience, became part of it immediately.

I have always loved the art of Dastangoi. This art form grew on me while I was a student at Jamia Millia Islamia. Usman, my friend from Lucknow and also my college mate from AJK MCRC, is a great performer and I recommend you to please attend his performances and experience Dastangoi first hand.

My first brush with Dastangoi was in 2012 when i watched Mantoiyat at SRC. It was love at first site and since then i am an ardent fan of the rediscovered form of story telling. Kudos to Mahmood Farooqi and his team!
