ITO (Income Tax Office)is Best place for financial industry
ITO or Income Tax Office is a popular office area in the heart of the national capital. This place has, besides income tax office and taxations court, several other important offices and institutions. Delhi Police headquarters is one the most important offices located here. Next to police headquarters is Sales tax office. Incidentally the buildings of both these offices are designed identically. Next is Institution of Engineers and Chartered Accountant head office.Located at ITO are a few educational institutions like Maulana Azad Medical College or MAMC, School of Planning and Architecture and Lady Irwin College for women.World Health Organization, WHO, office too is here on the Ring Road which is renamed as Mahatma Gandhi Marg.Several well known newspapers and magazines were brought out from here till a few years earlier and the fleet street was known for Times of India, Economic Times Indian Express, Financial Express, Patriot, Business Standard, The Tribune and The Hindu. While several newspaper offices have shifted from here their buildings stand tall as testimony to a pristine past. While At ITO one must visit Shankars International Dilli Museum which is one of its kind in the entire country. You will find Indian National Science Academy, INSA, and University Grants Commission, UGC, offices here. Vikas Minar is one of Delhis oldest high rise building located just opposite he School if Planning and Architecture.NEARBY PLACESAmong places around ITO are Feroz Shah Kotla Ground which hosts national and international cricket matches and Ambedkar Stadium, known for hosting soccer matches. Supreme Court and Pragati Maidan are also a walking distance from here.If you stretch a little you can visit Purana Qila and Zoological Garden. Even India Gate is not far off from here.EATING PLACESWhen in ITO one can get a lot of street food. Walk through the lane adjoining Vikas Minar and you will get variety of stuff like chola bhature, gulab jamun etc. While you are at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg you can get rajma rice, chola rice, matar kulcha, samosa etc. This place has Udupi Cafe which serves decent south Indian food at reasonable prices. However, one missed out at non vegetarian food at this place.ITO is famous for variety of paratha which are cooker and served till after midnight. Egg paratha is the one which I recommend.Overall a decent place which becomes chaotic during peak hours and one finds it difficult to park the car.
Good serive
There is no UTurn from ITO red light towards ITO Bridge. Utern after 300 meters
Nice metro station
Great subway station but the lighting inside of the station could have been better considering the fact that its one of the most busiest stations in Delhi. Other than that its well maintained with all the amenities in place and also located in a strategic location adjacent to all the main offices in Delhi. Great
Beautiful surroundings in morning. Entry point to new delhi

Introduced token vending machines system which works with change bills. How pathetic it is, people moving here and there and no one is there where they can seek any support. Metro exists to make the people life comfort, not to unnecessary tease them.
