What a great structure it is. I have never seen such a fabulous government office like this. the built quality and design is so beautiful. Inside the office the interior is so beautiful that might be you can forgot that you are in a government office. Its looks like a five star 🌟 hotel. I expect from the employee who are working here they will maintain its beauty and not spoil like other government offices they do.

1. Keezhadi’s excavation is about 110-acre site, we have excavated only about one acre in the past few years, which is less than two percent of the whole area. We will need at least ten years to excavate the whole place so that we get something substantial after the excavation.Keeladi (vaigai civilization ) was completely ancientness than the IVC (Harrapan Civilization)2.More excavations will help us find out more evidences. The carbon dating of samples collected from the site has placed it at 200 BC. Only two out of the 20 samples selected were sent to US for carbon dating, though seeking approval for all 20 samples.3.Twenty-five officers including were transferred according to a newly introduced policy—which said that field officers who have been working for more than two years need to be transferred. But even that policy was not adhered to strictly. Why this policy adhered strictly for Mr.Amarnath Ramakrishnan4. Keezhadi excavator Mr.Amarnath Ramakrishnan refused permission by ASI to visit US for. It is also reported that the ASI has not given any specific reason5. Permission to Keezhadi excavator Mr.Ramakrishnan from filing a final report is not given. It has been assigned to Bengaluru to complete the Keeladi excavation report. How another officer can give accurate results when major work carried by another officer ? EDIT:01/11/2018 ASI allowed Mr.Ramakrishnan to prepare report for 1st & 2nd phase after madurai high court order. This has to be done without public filling case or without court intervention.6.The first two excavations conducted by former superintending archeologist Amarnath Ramakrishna found that Keeladi was an ancient civilization which flourished in the Sangam era and that Tamil civilization was older that thought. But the third phase of excavations has completely contradictory to the findings of the first two.7. Su Venkadesan, writer and Sahitya Akademi Award winner said that in the last few seasons, the archaeologists had found factory-like set up towards the south of the site. He added that they should have dug more trenches in several places instead of digging ten trenches in a single place.8. ASI should make sure that its final reports on the period of the finds, are published within a fixed time frame unlike Adichanallur discovery. publication of its final report on the Adichanallur site for the past 13 years. expected the ASI to continue excavating the site more vigorously, allotting sufficient funds, so that the entire project was completed without unnecessary interruptions.9. It is imperative to document the historical evidences. In the search for the existence of mankind.Largest museum doesn’t have to be the biggest in size, but should have more number of carefully cataloged and preserved artifacts. now how common public will believe ASI is an independent organization and works towards bringing civilization history without bias10. ASI is not giving importance for Keeladi site. So 4th & 5th phase excavation is carried out by state archeology. All above points were questioning ASI independence and autonomous.

Mesmerising buildingThe Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is a Government of India (Ministry of Culture) organisation responsible for archaeologicalresearch and the conservation and preservation of cultural monuments in the country. It was founded in 1861 by the British Raj.The motto of ASI is in Sanskrit language.प्रत्नकीर्तिमपावृणु stands for आइए अतीत की महिमा को उजागर करें in Hindi and let us uncover the glory of the pastin English.Archaeological Survey of IndiaAbbreviationASIMottoप्रत्नकीर्तिमपावृणुFormation1861Headquarters24 Tilak Marg, New Delhi, India - 110001Region servedIndiaParent organisationMinistry of Culture, Government of IndiaBudget₹974.56 crore(US$140 million) (2018-2019)[1]Websiteasi.nic.inASI (archaeology) as well as BSI (botany), FSI(forests), FiSI (fisheries), GSI (geology), IIEE(ecology), NIO (oceanography), RGCCI(Census of India), SI (cartography) and ZSI(zoology) are key national survey organisations of India.HistoryEditASI was founded in 1861 by Alexander Cunningham who also became its first Director-General. The first systematic research into the subcontinents history was conducted by the Asiatic Society, which was founded by the British Indologist William Jones on 15 January 1784. Based in Calcutta, the society promoted the study of ancient Sanskrit and Persian texts and published an annual journal titled Asiatic Researches. Notable among its early members was Charles Wilkins who published the first English translation of the Bhagavad Gita in 1785 with the patronage of the then Governor-General of India, Warren Hastings. However, the most important of the societys achievements was the decipherment of the Brahmi script by James Prinsep in 1837. This successful decipherment inaugurated the study of Indian palaeography.Formation of the ASIEditAlexander CunninghamArmed with the knowledge of Brahmi, Alexander Cunningham, a protégé of Prinsep, carried out a detailed survey of the Buddhist monuments which lasted for over half a century. Inspired by early amateur archaeologists like the Italian military officer, Jean-Baptiste Ventura, Cunningham excavated stupas across the length and breadth of India. While Cunningham funded many of his early excavations himself, in the long run, he realised the need for a permanent body to oversee archaeological excavations and the conservation of Indian monuments and used his stature and influence in India to lobby for an archaeological survey. While his attempt in 1848 did not meet with success, the Archaeological Survey of India was eventually formed in 1861 by a statute passed into law by Lord Canning with Cunningham as the first Archaeological Surveyor. The survey was suspended briefly between 1865 and 1871 due to lack of funds but restored by Lord Lawrence the then Viceroy of India. In 1871, the Survey was revived as a separate department and Cunningham was appointed as its first Director-General.[2] To this day, Alexander Cunningham is revered as the Father of Indian Archaeology.[citation needed]

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new headquarters of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) Dharohar Bhavan on 12 July 2018. It is the headquarters of the Archaeological Survey of India. On the inauguration, the Prime Minister said that public participation is important for the preservation of archaeological heritage and said that we should be aware of our heritage and be proud of it. PM Modi said that Archaeological Survey of India has completed 150 years. This organization has become a historical organization in itself. However, Archaeological Survey of India is a government department under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, which is responsible for archaeological studies and maintenance of cultural monuments. The functions of this department include exploration, excavation, conservation, protection, etc. of sites and monuments of national and international importance. The present form of this department was established under British rule in 1861 by Sir Alexander Cunningham, with the help of the then Viceroy Charles John Canning.
