Ticket prize are cheap 25 / person (Indian) . Monument lighting start from 7 PM dont have to pay anything extra over your ticket to see that dont get dupe over that. One Guard is found being rude without any reason but not every one, one is found was quite friendly who took pictures for us .
Telling tale of bygone era, Safdarjung Tomb is one of the last of grand Mughal Tombs. It is built on the lines of Humayuns Tomb albeit on a much smaller scale. The tomb is located in beautifully manicured and maintained garden. The area isnt large so 1hr is more than enough to cover the whole area. When entering the tomb youll be enamoured by the geometric designs on the roof of the tomb and the general architecture of those times. However, Humayuns tomb offers better treat to the eyes.It has small parking space, ticket charges are nominal and can be booked by scanning QR code (online payment) present at the entrance. Washrooms and drinking water facilities is available in compound. It is generally not crowded, not many know about it, so it is perfect to spend some time in solace away from the noise of the city.Do prefer favourable weather to visit as summers in Delhi can be punishing. Its few minutes walk from Jor Bagh metro station. Also, famous Lodhi Gardens isnt far away from Safdarjung tomb, you can visit it too.
EASY RECOMMENDATION.Charges will be b/w Rs-20 to 25Best place for everyone,Peaceful place ,Mesmerizing views, quite place, not much rush.you can easily get there.bus or auto will drop you on the entrance.Good historical place. Best option for dates or only if you wanted to visit there for a quite evening...The park in the back is good as well. For sitting and clicking pictures.Carring backpack is allowed inside the tomb not much restrictions are there.Security guards are also friendly and polite.
If solitude and history make you feel alive more than ever then my friend, Safdarajang Tomb is the place for you. A 6 minute walk from the Jor Bagh metro station, this tomb is an elixir of peace amidst the hustle and bustle of the city.
Best to Visit during rainy weather in delhi
Safdarjungs Tomb is a garden tomb with a marble mausoleum. It was built in 1754 in the late Mughal Empire style, & was described as the last flicker in the lamp of Mughal architecture.
This is very under rated Place near Lodhi Gardens. The Morning time is the best to go there where you can see Peacocks enjoying their Morning Walk🙂
Its quite and amazing place to visit and for photography also. Its clear and well maintained.
It can be more beautiful.
Good placeVery clean
My favorite accessory and backdrop when making pictures. And by some Devine intervention, that particular day there was no crowd to obstruct the view. It was just me and the disinterested guards. The entire monument was at my disposal. I couldnt ask for a better birthday gift.... !!SAFDARJUNG TOMB in Delhi, also known as Madarsa. In fact thats how the bus stop is known as.
Great experience... Visited at night... Beautiful lighting.... Online payment was not easy... Staff is good... Lighting is superb... Lots of mosquitoes..
Superb place to have some time in peace and also you can practice your photography skills here. Ticket is also very cheap only 20, you can enjoy sunset and night view also available after 7PM
Great place for having some quality time. An alternate for Humayun tomb. Less crowded and peaceful. You could always spend some quality time here.Nearest metro station is Jorbagh on Yellow line. Tomb distance from metro station is around 500-600 metres
A beautiful but (thankfully) little-known gem of Delhi’s cultural heritage. Come here for an evening stroll in the spring and enjoy the relics which have been commendably restored by the ASI. If possible, stay back for a while and watch the tomb in all its glory at night when it is lighted and the fountains are on. A wonderful place situated right in the heart of bustling South Delhi.
Relatively quiet place with very less visitors coming in on daily basis. (Rs. 25 per person (Apr21))The guards however create a bit of trouble if you have a camera. Otherwise its a good place to visit specially for the heritage lovers as you get plenty of opportunity to get real close to different parts of the architecture.
Nicely built , from center all corner looked exactly like mirror image
Great placeNatural photo shoot placeBest location for pre wedding photo shoot
This garden tomb made of marble and sandstone for the Wazir or the Prime Minister of the Mughal dynasty, Safdarjung, is touted to be the last such mausoleum, depicting the Mughal architectural style. The compound of Safdarjung tomb houses a three-dome mosque, an underground chamber with the graves of Safdarjung and his wife, and the pavilions where the Archaeological Survey of India now has an office and a library. The ASI has recently installed 213 led lights at the tomb as part of its architectural illumination project and the tomb is lit up every day from 7:30 PM to 11 PM.
The place is peaceful. I went on a Sunday, it was not very crowded ( hardly 10 people) . You can spend time sitting in the garden. Nearst metro station- Jorbhag (walking distance). I had a relaxing experience
Historical place, quiet and serene
Nice place to spent 1or 2 hr.Not too crowded.Som love Birds sitting corners.Hoo hot if u go in summer. Avoid to visit in summer.

I have been to both the places many times and just love the feeling I get when I stay beneath this bid red beautiful tomb. I totally recommend this place to others and Im going to upload few photos to show the beauty of this place. Hope it will help others.
Best place for solo visitors. Definitely will give you internal chillsBeautiful and clean gardenNice staff
It is a beautiful and precious monument but poorly maintained by ASI. Specially the dome and its surroundings is covered with grass and wild plants.
One of the nicely maintained tomb. It dont look nice from the road but as you enter you mesmerized with its beauty. Like other Delhi tomb (Humayuns Tomb) it is also made-up of Red stone. Good place to spend few hours of your day
Safdarjung tomb, the last monumental tomb garden of the Mughals, was planned and built like an enclosed garden tomb in line with the style of the Humayun tomb. It is a sandstone and marble mausoleum. The monument has an ambience of spaciousness and an imposing presence with its domed and arched red brown and white coloured structures. The best time to visit Safdarjung tomb in Delhi is during the cool, dry season. You can choose to go sightseeing anytime between November and March. During this period, the weather in Delhi remains pleasant. The temperature ranges from 20 to 25 degrees. We suggest you wear light clothes. This tomb is quite the surprise once you enter through its gates. From the road, it looks like another remnant of Delhis rich heritage but the campus presents a beautiful, symmetric tomb and a sprawling garden. We enjoyed a peaceful visit. Yes, there is parking (enter the premise from the road). Currently, in-person ticketing is not available. You can buy entry tickets online or at the spot once you scan the QR code. Note that the guards will not let you enter without the tickets seen on your phone (they need to scan it). ₹20-25 per person (local), 200ish for international tourists. Masks are required and enforced. Personal photography is permitted and free but tripods are not allowed (need permission from ASI). Need permission for commercial photography/videography. I request all visitors to respect the rules, be conscientious, maintain the cleanliness and not vandalize the monument

Safdarjungs Tomb is the last enclosed garden tomb in Delhi in the tradition of Humayuns Tomb, though it if far less grand in scale. It was built in 1753- 54 as mausoleum of Safdarjung, the viceroy of Awadh under the Mughal Emperor, Mohammed Shah.Theres a 20 rupees entry ticket which has to be purchased on phone via a QR code. If youre going in a group, best to book all tickets on one device. The condition of this Tomb has become very bad, the government needs to pay attention to it. It is associated with the history of the time of the Mughals, you can feel the history at this place.
Genuine hidden gem. Monument dating back to 1754, set amidst beautiful gardens. The monument is a good specimen of late Mughal architecture

Winter is great in Delhi because of its tombs and gardens. Safdarjung is lovely because of its underrated charm, relatively less crowd in comparison of other tombs and similar open public spaces.
