A very well connected but extremely overcrowded railway station. Its direct in the heart of the new delhi city. Security is a cause of concern I believe as its very loose. You cant rely only on metal detectors for everything. Can you? Cleanliness is not perfect but satisfactory. Most of the major tastings originate from here. New Delhi metro station is lying here on yellow line of Delhi metro. Bus depot is nearby as well as other connectivity options. Multiple food options are there inside as well as just nearby the metro station which is stone throw distance from the entrance.

It is one of the main railway station of New Delhi. This station is very well maintained and cleaned and is very well connected by metro, OLA, Buses, Auto rickshaws etc... Amenities like water, wheelchair, restrooms, WiFi, fan, lift, escalator and refreshments are all available here... You can see its beauty in night when its all lighted up with tricolor.

Visited New Delhi Railway Station Paharganj side after couple of years. Railway has done a great job in improving the entry of station and maintaining cleanliness of platforms. Outside the station is a mess as usual. The drop off area is extremely congested and Autorickshaw parked outside lanes. It’s a nightmare to drop and pick up anyone. Really nice railway station as it is very clean now and a 24 hour open with crowd at any time be ut 12 mid night also. So it is safe railway station and you can get taxi or auto from outside here any time and also metro station is also just outside railway station.

Just an another average looking railway station, its better to get food for travel before entering the station itself, since you could not find varieties. Its better to have a trolley bag, because we have to walk for long distance to exit or to move to respective platform.

I visited NDLS recently as I need to catch a train to Jhansi and entered the station through Ajmeri gate side .The security at the station was heavy , being the capital has its own perk.There were two escalators at the Ajmeri gate side . But I will personally recommend the Paharganj side entrance for the people who have trains towards Bombay or Southern India. This will greatly reduced their walking time and ofcourse the energy. Rest, the station was clean and was kept clean regularly by the staff who were regularly mopping the floors specially in platform no. 1 and rest of the platforms they hardly care.Metro to the airport is available from the Ajmeri gate side entrance.

One thing that you need to keep a watch on is that you need to bargain for everything including even a bottle of water. Also be aware of pickpockets or your journey might get completely spoiled.

Umm.. amazing facility in corona time. New Delhi railway station which is located in between Ajmeri gate & pahadganj.I really love the view of not being crowded it it was looking pretty neat and clean that time.In This covid-19 time, they are not offering any platform ticket for other passengers. who held the main ticket or a journey ticket will be allowed into the platform. And I guess its a good just because of this all the platforms were totally clear almost. Neat and clean railway station of capital.

Travelled via this station very often. Major station of our country. All types of trains are available. Food shops, restaurants, waiting rooms are here. Wifi service available. Good for wheelchair access. Safety and checking system is not that much. Everytime you visit you can see a lot of peoples are lying in the floors. Platform tickets are must if you are not a passenger. Uber or Ola, taxi services, auto services, bus services are available. Metro is near.

This place offers okay facilities, good security and good cleanliness. Nice. But too much stray dogs even on platform. Enquiry window person very helpful. Proper indicating boards. But as soon as you exit station from main exit gate you will get surrounded by agents of various services like for hotels, stay rooms, restaurants, bus ticket agents, rail ticket agents & those autowalas. I will say dont accept their service as they will definitely charge double or triple than normal rate for new person in city.

A very updated and clean Railway Station of India. Very important station from where every important trains are being opened. There are total 16 platforms in this station. It has escalator for each platform, however most of the time these escalators will be found faulty. In the station complex, there are running electric vehicle for conveyance of old aged and women passengers. Book stall and snacks shops are available in each platform.

I was happy to see a revamped image of New Delhi railway station.Colourful and clean.I don’t know what others think or say, by the clean India movement is very much visible at the railway station.Platforms were clean and moving around was hassle free. I was also happy to see the condition of waiting rooms (so much better than before).

Always a pleasure to travel by Indian railways , and this station is one of my favourite, facilities have improved almost in every aspect.One thing is that you need to consider is this place is full of people coming and going at their respective destination, and the way they cleaned is pretty amazing.Platform maintenance is up to par.Tea taste good, only taking a star off because of the beggers that continuously beg and came to you. However cleanliness is not that upto mark but that is not solely the stations responsibility it also needs active participation of people who commute from there. Due to covid I suggest please teacher atleast 30 minutes before the departure time.Automatic stairs are not working at few points.Overall management of the station is very good. Handling the huge crowd is never easy but this place manages the crowd quite well.

Great transformation and real good effort by the government in cleanliness and facelift of the railway station premises post 2014. Good wi fi speed provided by the rail wire. You can avail the lounge facility also by just paying a nominal charge of Rs 10 per hour.

Very good railway station. Well maintained. Number of trains in different directions are going from here. Security is tight with scanning of lugguage and deployment of security staff including policemen. Good waiting rooms are here for train passengers entry to which is valid only two hours before departure of the concerned train. Taxis and Auto Rickshaws are available just outside the station. Alternative mode to go from here to anywhere in Delhi and NCR is Metro train, metro station is just outside of New Delhi Railway Station.

Yup... Country Capital Railway station, very well maintained station with state of art facilities. But still nothing is perfect in this world, more cleanliness can be maintained. I saw people throwing water bottle on the floor, no security staff was there to stop them. Due to renovation station is more look like museum 😂. No rules in traffic in front of the building! Very low security check, lots of sleeping people on the floor early in the mornings! Pretty safe! Be there for your train at least 45 minutes before departure! 😉🚃

Very big and busy railway station in the heart of New Delhi. It is very close to Connaught Place and ajmeri gate. The surrounding have great food and shopping options. The station is neat and clean and very spacious with excellent display of 🚊 train status. It has all the facilities for eating resting and clock rooms. Platforms are well connected through escalators lift and FOB. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Well I believe in the positive part as opposed to the reviews posted for the station, it is not managed that badly, the washrooms are average and hygienic, of course you cannot expect a 5 star hotel quality at a railway station but its one of the most busiest stations of Delhi as it has 16 platforms, trains to almost every part of the country goes from here.The station has two entrances one from Ajmeri Gate that starts from Platform 16 and other one from Paharganj that starts from Platform 1, I would suggest which ever train you are taking, do a bit of research on which platform it will come and accordingly ask your taxi/auto to leave at that entrance as with luggage you will really have to cover lot of ground which may become messy if you are not doing a coolie.Overall descent arrangements for food and water across all the platforms.

New Delhi railway station is much better than old Delhi. Because its new and with updated technologies. The roof of the platforms have Solar Panels installed. Also the metro station is on walking distance to this station exit. New Delhi metro station connects major areas of Delhi. And you can have also other options like bus, rikshaw, taxi or cabs. Awesome station. In total 16 working platforms are present here. Each platform has food stalls for convienience. Platform has two entries, one from the platform 1 side and other from the platform 16 side. If you want to board the metro, exit from the platform 16 and there would be signs that will guide you to metro stations entry gates. Airport metro is also from platform 16 side.

The place is a station so the crowd is going to be there.. too many people waiting near the entrance makes it a little hard to move around. The place is not so clean. Some platforms have escalators some are just stairs. Difficult for older people to climb or people with heavy luggage. Best railway station experience in four years of catching trains here. Easy to find the station, easy access, security straight forward, platforms well signed, escalators to platforms and my train is where it is meant to be - not as silly as that sounds!

Before the new imperial capital New Delhi was established after 1911, the Old Delhi Railway Station served the entire city and the Agra-Delhi railway line cut through what is today called Lutyens Delhi and the site earmarked for the hexagonal All-India War Memorial (now India Gate) and Kingsway (now Rajpath). The railway line was shifted along Yamuna river and opened in 1924 to make way for the new capital. Minto (now Shivaji) and Hardinge (now Tilak) rail bridges came up for this realigned line. The East Indian Railway Company, that overlooked railways in the region, sanctioned the construction of a single story building and a single platform between Ajmeri Gate and Paharganj in 1926. This was later known as New Delhi Railway station. The governments plans to have the new station built inside the Central Park of Connaught Place was rejected by the Railways as it found the idea impractical.[3] In 1927–28, New Delhi Capital Works project involving construction of 4.79 miles (7.71 km) of new lines was completed. The Viceroy and royal retinue entered the city through the new railway station during the inauguration of New Delhi in 1931. New structures were added to the railway station later and the original building served as the parcel office for many years.
