Best swimming pools in town

Tot pool is warm and cozy for my little man.

Olympic size pool, lots of fun for the whole family. Water slides, and inflatables are included in some swims. Baby pool is heated which is soooo nice. Great place to have a childs party as well.

Best pool in the city however the facility is quite old compared to its competitors. Love how there is a Tim Hortons in the entrance

Took the babe for a swim with some friends for their Parent and Baby swim. The water in the baby pool is nice and warm and they all had a great time!Womens change room has two play pens, and multiple baby changing stations.

Generally a very good facility. I believe it is the largest pool on the island. Some parts of the building are starting to show their age, particularly the change rooms. The building is very well maintained however making the age of the infrastructure much less of an issue. I think its also time to ditch the Tim Hortons in favor of somthing healthier considering this is a sports and recreation facility. Maybe a Booster Juice?

The pool is decent but parent viewing areas suck. The faculty gym is inexpensive, but poorly squeezes equipment into awkward spaces. Still, most of the equipment is in great shape, and the staff are good. A decent option for MUN faculty and staff.

Was at The Aquarena watching my niece at the provincial champs swim meet. My how everything comes full circle. I started my Aquarena swim career in 1978 when they opened the building to the public. After that I worked there as a lifeguard, swimming instructor and later as a swim coach for N.A.A.C. which is now the St. Johns Legends. Enough history! The facility has aged gracefully. Now being run by Memorial University.

Free for students; which is a huge motivator to be active and keep your body healthy during your studies, and actually free for seniors. Lane swim, a track, multiple cardio and toning stations; The Works has something for everyone.

Location could use some updating. However its still a great spot to swim. Has a heated baby pool and large adult pool, slide, diving boards too. There is a Tim Hortons on location so place is rather busy most times. Staff is usual younger group. Offer swimming lessons and other levels of training up to lifeguard which is nationally recognized. Website is about useless except for basic information. Cant register or book anything online

It is a wonderful place to go swimming. They have wide lanes and lots of diving boards. They also have a nice waiting area and a nice members only area as well with hot tubs.

Beautiful indoor swimming facility originally built for the Canada Games in 1977 but well maintained by the City of St. Johns ever since.

Great place for swimming lessons. The kids love it here!

My children always have a wonderful time here. We mostly go for birthday parties and swimming.

The Works is a nice gym with all the equipment youd expect to find. Some of the equipment is old but everything is generally in a good state of repair. Not very busy early in the morning, which is nice.

Staff isnt nice lifeguards are good tho and facilities are pretty good

Clean facility. Lacks a large single pool area for lane swimming. Lane swimming only at certain times. But open on weekends as well.

Too bad that some people are still going in the pool area with their outside shoes... Staff should be more strict on these rules.
