Kalkaji Mandir Metro Station is an interchange station of the Delhi Metro between Violet Line and Magenta Line. The interchange is situated in two levels - underground and elevated. There is seamless connection between the two lines, which allows commuters to change lines without requiring to exit from the ticketed area. There is a five minutes walking tunnel between these two lines to interchange. This is located between Nehru Place and Govind Puri stations of the Violet Line, and between Nehru Enclave and Okhla NSIC stations of the Magenta Line. It provides access to tourist sites such as Kalkaji Mandir, Lotus Temple, Prachin Bhairav Mandir and ISKCON Temple which are situated very near to the station. The station was opened with the first section of the Line from Central Secretariat - Sarita Vihar on 3 October 2010, in time for the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony on the same day. The metro station also houses a departmental store. The interchange with Magenta Line was opened on 25 December 2017. Big Bazaar is also available in the basement of this metro station.

Plus this place acts as a mid point for lotus temple and kalka mandir. You can also visit Iscon temple which is just few steps away from lotus temple.

Aurangzebs royal order to destroy the original temple is available. The temple was rebuilt later by Marathas.[citation needed]Though the temple is thought to be much older, the oldest portions of the present building are believed to have been constructed not earlier than the 1764 AD by the Marathas, with additions in 1816 by Mirza Raja Kidar Nath, the Peshkar of Akbar II[4] During the second half of the twentieth century, a considerable number of Dharamshalas were constructed around the temple by Hindu bankers and merchants of Delhi. The temple itself is built on the land of Shamlat Thok Brahmins and Thok Jogians who are also the pujaris of the temple and who perform Puja Sewa. The Thok Brahmins consist of Four Thullas, namely Thulla Tansukh, Thulla Rambaksh, Thulla Bahadur, and Thulla Jasram. they are classified into Gharbari Jogi and Kanphada Jogi.[citation needed]LegendAccording to a Hindu legend, Kalika Devi was born at the site where the temple is situated.[5]Millions of years ago, the gods who dwelt in the neighbourhood of the present temple were troubled by two giants and were compelled to prefer their complaint to Lord Brahma, the god of all. But Lord Brahma declined to interfere and referred them to the Goddess Parvati. Out of the mouth of Maa Parvati sprung Kaushki Devi, who attacked the two giants and slaughtered them, but it so happened, that as their blood fell on the dry earth thousands of giants came into life, and the battle was maintained by Kaushki Devi against great odds. Maa Parvati took compassion on her offspring and out of the eyebrows of Kaushki Devi came Maa Kali Devi, whose lower lip rested on the hills below and the upper lip touched the sky above. She drank the blood of the slaughtered giants as it poured out of their wounds, and the goddess obtained a complete victory over their enemies. Maa Kali Devi then fixed her abode here, and she was worshipped as the chief divinity of the place.[citation needed]It is believed that the Goddess Kalkaji, pleased with the prayers offered and rituals performed by the gods on the advice of Lord Brahma, appeared at the site of the temple and blessed them, and settled at the site. During the Mahabharata, Lord Krishna and the Pandavas are said to have worshipped Kali at this temple during the reign of Yudhisthira. The temple itself is believed to have been constructed by Thok Brahmins and Thok Jogians[clarification needed] at the order of Kali.It is also called Jayanti Peetha or Manokamna Siddha Peetha.  Manokamna literally means desire,  Siddha means fulfillment, and  Peetha means shrine. So, it is believed to be the holy shrine where one gets the blessings of Maa Kalika Devi (Goddess or Mother Kalika) for the fulfillment of ones desires.

Clean stationKalkaji Mandir, also known as Kalkaji Temple, is a Hindu mandir or temple, dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Kali. This temple (mandir) is situated in the southern part of Delhi, India, in Kalkaji, a locality that has derived its name from the temple and is located opposite Nehru Place business centre. The temple is accessible by public transport on Kalkaji Mandir (Delhi Metro) and is near Nehru Placebus terminus and Okhla railway station.[1] The general belief is that the image of the Goddess Kalka here is a self-manifested one, and that the shrine dates back to Satya Yugawhen the Goddess Kalika had incarnated and killed the demon Raktabija along with other giant demons.

Kalkaji Mandir metro station has 2 part Elevated and Underground stations and 2 are connected by ramp visible here.Icon for Kalkaji Mandir Metro Station for Magenta Line is wrongly placed. Magenta line does not turn southeast and merge with Violet line but it continues westward which is still not opened. Actual station for Magenta line is underground at site where it has been mapped as Metropolitan transport company 240 meters northwest from its present location. The icon needs relocation and the acutely bent magenta line towards previous elevated station on violet line needs deletion for better map features. Now Magenta Line is opened till Janakpuri West station.I have edited to relocate icon and it needs approval.

Kalkaji Metro Metro Station. Gone are the days when Delhi metro used to be punctual and cheap. Now its all about being expensive, not being on time and horrible deployment of CISF staff. The latest pink line will make you want to smash your head, its everything what you dont expect from a public transit system. Newly opened station under pink line (which is going to be largest stretch in Delhi Metro). This metro runs almost parallel to ring road. Station is in underground. Soon this station will have amphitheater and its office complex above metro station. Newly started, Cleaned and well developed. Most important thing is its connectivity. As it is situated near by the Railway station, Bus Stand And Auto Stand. You will find a lots number of shops near by this station, even mandi is just away of 2 min distance where you can get fresh vegetable as reasonable price. Underground metro station. 4 access to the station. 2 in both sides of the road. Elevator is available for wheelchair accessibility. Better get an smartcard to avoid standing in queue. after checking, you will enter into the base of the station. Tickets available at the concourse level. Paid parking is available.
