If you are a fan of Indian food be it starters or main course but with a slight twist of fusion, this is the place for you. Must try tamarind fish with rice appam. The fish was simply melting in the mouth and the coconut curry complemented the overall flavour and palette. Portion is decent and wont have you overeating and feeling exhausted later. Their mulled wine is definitely worth it. Try keema gujia if you like nonveg starters which are not too oily.

Monsoon is run by Cafe Lota which is one of my favorite eating joints. The staff here is courteous and helpful. I tried quite a few dishes here when I visited few times with family and friends. Each dish is unique and tastes good. The Khambeeri roti, buckwheat pan cakes, mutton, chicken, fish are my favourite. I wont say any particular dish is a must try, rather any dish you order will be super good. Kheer with caramel is a must try though 😀

Went here on my birthday and it was an all new experience. Loved its ambience. Food was good too but less in quantity. Trying their curated meal for one which has one starter, one main course Nd one dessert. In starter i had scotch egg which was good but too less for the cost, just one egg. In main course i had saag paratha with channia paneer dish. It was tasty. Dessert was awesome. Chocolate torte. Overall it was nice.

In this blog post, I cover Monsoon by Cafe Lota, a contemporary Indian restaurant in Aerocity Delhi, which is inspired by the season of joy.Whats the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about the monsoon? A long spell of rain and with it a fresh breeze of air? Just like monsoon provides a welcome respite from the scorching summer heat, Monsoon by Cafe Lota tries to capture that same feeling of joy and elation through the creative use of locally sourced ingredients to produce a unique fusion of Indian flavors.Brought by the same ol team that gave us the Roots - Cafe In The Park (2010), Cafe Lota (2013), and Triveni Terrace Cafe (2015), Monsoon is a continuation of the Melting Pot Food Companys exploration of Indias abundant cuisines and indigenous ingredients. The brainchild of entrepreneurs, Rajesh Ojha, Ashish Arora, and Iona Joshua Sinha, Monsoon is not your run-of-the-mill dining option. The credit for curating an exemplary Modern Indian menu by reinterpreting local ingredients goes to the very talented chef extraordinaire Udit Maheshwari who I had the pleasure of meeting at Monsoon.Udit is an alumnus of Le Cordon Bleu London and he specializes in French cuisine. What I found particularly interesting about Udit is that his menu is an experimental take on Indian food, prepared with precision from carefully chosen, local ingredients. From Prawn Pepper Stir Fry which uses black and green peppercorns, curry leaves, and caramelized onions to Goat Rib Broth which uses Kashmiri Haak and crispy Lotus Stem, every dish is a piece of art - unique, flavorful, aesthetically plated, and most importantly, light on the palate, bringing to the fore Udits non-conformist Indian style of cooking.Youll love the Tamarind Fish, a dish that has Tilapia fish coated in a tamarind and oyster glaze served on tempered spinach with a moilee sauce. The subtle use of tempered chana dal (gram lentil), lal mirch (red chili), coconut milk, and turmeric provides the perfect desi flavors this dish needs.Room for more? Try the Choriz Pulao. Organic quinoa cooked with Goan chorizo sausage made of pork, roasted bell peppers, and Persian Zereshk berries. Served with a sunny side up egg and spicy, gluten-free tomato ketchup.End your gastronomical journey at Monsoon on a sweet note with the Chocolate Torte. A cold-set dessert made of organic dark chocolate studded with mango leather (aam papad) and served with a raw mango coulis on a crispy pearl millet base (bajra cookie).Udits creativity with food is not just outstanding, his take on the Modern Indian cuisine checks all boxes as far as taste and aesthetics are concerned. His work inside the kitchen is equally complemented by Mixologists Magandeep Singh artistry behind the bar. Magandeep does a remarkable job of churning out one spectacular drink after the other, in the process, enhancing the level of your overall dining experience.Dont leave Monsoon before trying out the Mango and Green Chili Sangria. Made with Borsao white wine, shaken with mangoes, jaggery syrup, green chilies, and mint. Another recommendation is the Asafetida Sour, made with Asafetida, Orange, Pineapple, Popcorn, and Yuzu (Japanese citrus lemon). The dimly lit ambiance of Monsoon will be soothing to your eyes and senses. Spanning across 1200 square feet, the restaurant offers 45 covers, perfect to host your loved ones for an extremely personalized dining experience. With Monsoon, it surely feels like the age of Indian food has arrived.

I just loved this place! Beautiful interiors and great hospitality. Also the owner was kind enough to help us out with the bests from their menu. This restaurant serves contemporary indian food and interesting beverages.I tried-Yoghurt cheese croquettes- mini, quick bites served with garlic chutney. It tasted good.Monsoon fried chicken- boneless chicken thighs marinated in mint-coriander masala and served with a sweet- spicy coconut, vinegar and coriander chutney. MUST TRY! It was amazing.Beverages-Hibiscus iced teaCucumber basil daiquidi(cucumber+basil+ lemon) - a little tangy twist is what i loved the most about this one. Both these drinks are very refreshing and not that sweet so i loved both of them.Main course-Tinda matar curry- This is the BEST THING happened to tinda. This dish is basically marinated tinda stuffed with paneer and served with a gravy of black sesame/til, matar and yoghurt curry. I loved this a lot. Also it was accompanied by a laccha parantha which had white makhan over it instead of some other butter. MUST TRY!.DessertSalted caramel kheer- its their speciality. Not so sweet kheer with a layering of caramel over it and topped with almonds. AMAZING!Dark chocolate torte- its 60% dark chocolate studded with mango leather and served with raw mango coulis over a crispy millet base. I loved this as well.Taste -5/5Hospitality-5/5Ambience-5/5

Unlike most of the reviews, I didnt like this place. We went there because of lack of options. Never been a fan of fusion, neo food anyways.Ordered podi idli and buckwheat pancake for starters. Idli was bland, with a very chewy consistency. So were the pancakes. No specific taste and a lot of oil, only thing which you could taste. For main course we got the monsoon paneer pasanda with palak paratha. Honestly Ive had way better paneer pasanda at most of other places. So for food Ill give them 1/5Yes hospitality on the other hand, they gave us a complimentary kahwa while we waited for our order and even a chocolate tart post dinner.Staff was very courteous and friendly. So yes hospitality will get them a straight 5+/5.Overall not a place where Ill come back for food.

I had lunch on Saturday and was so happy that I went again with my family on Sunday for dinner. Its a small restaurant at the rear of food court in worldmark 1. Its spacious, tables have been set fairly apart. The ambience is good , thankfully its quiet. Service is par excellence. The servers are polite, well versed with the drinks and dishes. Their recommendations were very good. Drinks and food are amazing. The menu is small but unique. Effort has been made not only in menu planning but each dish or drink that was served was delicious. There is nothing amiss. I hope they continue to serve in this consistent manner. This is a must try if you are fed up of the Butter chicken and dal makhni being dished out everywhere. I recommend The Kiwi Panna, curry leaf sour, Jamun vinegar, Neermor. In food the tamarind fish, Keema gujiya, fish and potato kebab, ginger and lime chicken. Halwa , kheer and the chocolate torte are all brilliant. Do visit for a wonderful dining experience.

The energy flow starts with the quality of food. I cannot be more elated to describe my recent culinary odyssey at Monsoon café, Aerocity. Here the experience is cherished the moment you step inside. Located Worldmark 1, Aerocity, this place is a must visit for people who love experimenting with food.Soft lights and a warm vibe welcome you as you walk inside the space. The décor is subtle yet speaks a thousand words. The plants added in each corner only accentuate the experience. Simplicity is the key word here, so you can find minimalistic seating arrangement. You can be assured of great service with an added touch of warm hospitality. The chef in charge, Mr. Udit has added a creative twist in each dish thus making the experience holistic.Broccoli Makhani served with Grover Vineyard LA Reserve Red -This dish kept its texture really well, cooked with malai marinade and flavored with spices including with tomato and green chili, along with little shreds of ginger. The gravy was absolutely superb, the spices beautifully balanced. The basket of naans, paranthas and rotis breads was also impressive. The texture of each bread was soft and supple. The stuffed naan, enriched with spices was brilliant. The Grover Vineyard LA Reserve was a brooding concoction of matured red fruits and sweet spices softened by delicate oak.

Restaurant is not very big hence faster service. For starters we orderd three dishes Anands Fish Chops they were great, Keema Gujiya they were also good and lastly my favourite Monsoon Fried Chicken which was damn good. In drinks we ordered Asafetida Sour, Elderflower Spritzer and Tamarind Lemonade all drinks no complains there but Elderflower Spritzer was freaking amazing it had very different taste I never experienced. For main course I ordered sesame chicken it was  boneless chicken thigh in a rich white gravy and was very good. In desert we ordered Kheer which was topped with salted caramel and was delicious, we also had Chocolate Torte which was a rich choclate moose on a base of mango leather and was devine.Overall a great experience and would recommend everyone to visit it atleast once and experience their delicacies.

We were lured to visit Monsoon when we realized that this fine dining eatery at World Mark in Aerocity was yet another creation from the owners of FARZI CAFÉ. My husband and I were curious to find out what Zorawar Kalra’s creative imagination would bring for those who searched for new food destinations serving new kind of cuisines, while dining out over the weekends. The ground floor of World Mark is sprawling which gives it a feeling of space in the midst of naturally created surrounding amidst which is the food court. The set meal option at Monsoon is what was stressed on by the young man waiting outside. Well, he convinced us and we wanted to try out the set menu (Non-vegetarian meal: 1 starter + 1 main + 1 dessert). So we both chose an item each from the starters, main course and the sweet dish.Being strictly non-vegetarians we ordered Anand’s Fish Chops. The description was simple: Shredded rohu and potato cutlets, encased in semolina and served with a bell-pepper chutney (dairy free). The three round cutlets were generously padded with semolina making them crunchy outside. Inside, of course, it tasted of rohu fish. I wondered to myself: what if each diner tasted just his or her share of starters, would that be enough and more satisfying? Well, we both agreed: No. The portions at Monsoon really need to be looked into. Then came the Keema Gujiya (orange-scented, spiced goat mince encased in a spinach short-crust pastry, served with an amla and tamarind chutney). There were three little ‘parcels’ shaped like gujiyas. They looked lost on a fairly large platter served with a little bowl of sauce. This second set of starters were green in colour – it was the spinach which gave it the colour and the filling of the minced meat was perfect. Oh yes, the amla sauce tasted good.We were hoping the quantity of the main course would be satisfying so that we would not have to stop at the biryani counter in the food court next door. We had ordered -- E.I. B Prawns (prawns inspired from the East Indians of Bombay, cooked in a spicy red chilli masala and served with a brioche pao). The taste was very good – flavoured with spices but yet not that hot – perfectly balanced which brought out the flavours in its true forms. Served with four half pieces of pao, the main course was wiped off the serving dish with only a helping each. Next came the Choriz Pulao made of organic quinoa cooked with Goan chorizo sausage, roasted bell peppers, zereshk berries and served with a sunny side up egg and spicy tomato ketchup. The Goan sausages cut into small pieces lent the pulao a meaty, smoky, tangy taste but other than that, there was nothing much to write home about. To sum it up, the dining experience @ Monsoon will be remembered for its taste but would prefer a soup or drink added if one’s appetite is to be satisfied. If Zorawar Kalra excelled with Farzi Cafe, we dont think he will make much of an impression with Monsoon. We expected much more...Rating from 5Food: 4.5Décor: 4Service 4.5
