Beautiful place, great for exhibition

Excellent stock of Art and aesthetic based books to pick up from here. Rare collections of early works by the whos who of the artists from contemporary Indian Arts scene. The stairs to reach the Gallerys and the bookshop are a bit steep though.

Thanks to Raza Foundation, theres a chance to see more late Raza ay Yugma II, that previewed today at D-40 Vadehra. But the real undercurrent of this loosely put together exhibition (on till March 22) is some of the canvases of the last living member of the Bombay Progressive Artists Group, Kishen Khanna. Theres one great canvas from 1982 of the Nocturnes series, that is unfortunately squeezed in too tiny a corner on the 1st floor of the gallery. Some excerpts from the many letters that were written between Raza and Khanna were displayed on some of the wall faces. All in all, a great way to celebrate Raza Sahibs 97th birthday, all thanks to the Raza Foundation.
