Well this is the Indias second largest temple, & asias third largest temple around the world. Apart from this basic general knowledge, the good thing is entry is free but only for the darshan When it comes to shows, you have to pay for that, where the light/fountain show is most recommended if you are not opting for full package show ticket. Phone/Camera/Bags are not allowed inside temple, so make sure you keep in your car or either you can keep them in locker room which is also free to access.Keep in mind, if you are going in rush hour then put our items/goods in your car/own space which will save your time in standing in queue.Akshardham Temple or Swaminarayan Akshardham Complex is a prestigious fascination in Delhi and it gloats its profound and social exercises spreading over the city. The mind boggling invites you to comprehend and break down the conventional Hindu and Indian culture, deep sense of being and design. Being a standout amongst the most went by vacation spots in Delhi, the sanctuary has magnificence and dynamic quality, amazing by whatever else. The banks of the excellent Yamuna River in eastern Delhi offer space to the complex and the development was by the Vastu Shastra and Pancharatra Shastra.

The temple was officially opened on 6 November 2005 by Pramukh Swami Maharajin the presence of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Manmohan Singh, L.K Advani and B.L Joshi. The temple, at the centre of the complex, was built according to the Vastu shastra and Pancharatra shastra. In Akshardham Delhi, similar to its predecessor Akshardham Gandhinagar, Gujarat, the main shrine is the focal point and maintains the central position of the entire complex. There are various exhibition halls which provide information about the life and work of Swaminarayan. The designers of the complex have adopted contemporary modes of communication and technology to create the various exhibition halls. The complex features an Abhisheka Mandap, Sahaj Anand water show, a thematic garden and three exhibitions namely Sahajanand Darshan (Hall of Values), Neelkanth Darshan (an IMAX film on the early life of Swaminarayan as the teenage yogi, Neelkanth), and Sanskruti Darshan (cultural boat ride). According to Swaminarayan Hinduism, the word Akshardham means the abode of almighty Lord Swaminarayan and believed by followers as a temporal home of God on earth.

Akshardham means the divine abode of God. It is hailed as an eternal place of devotion, purity and peace. Swaminarayan Akshardham at New Delhi is a Mandir – an abode of God, a Hindu house of worship, and a spiritual and cultural campus dedicated to devotion, learning and harmony. Timeless Hindu spiritual messages, vibrant devotional traditions and ancient architecture all are echoed in its art and architecture. The mandir is a humble tribute to Bhagwan Swaminarayan (1781- 1830), the avatars, devas and great sages of Hinduism. The traditionally-styled complex was inaugurated on 6 November 2005 with the blessings of HH Pramukh Swami Maharaj and through the devoted efforts of skilled artisans and volunteers. Each element of Akshardham echoes with spirituality – the Mandir, the Exhibitions and even the Gardens. The Akshardham mandir has over two hundred murtis, representing many of the spiritual stalwarts over many millennia. The spiritual premise of Akshardham is that each soul is potentially divine. Whether we are serving the family, the country our neighbors or all living beings the world over , each service can help one move towards divinity. Each prayer is a call towards improving oneself and moving closer to God.A visit to Akshardham is a spiritually enriching experience. Whether it is in realising the power of prayer, in feeling the strength of non-violence, in being aware of the universal nature of Hinduism’s ancient principles, or just in admiring the beauty of God’s abode on Earth – each element has a spiritual significance.Facts and Figure:Opened 6th November 2005Constructed by Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS)Inspired by HH Yogiji Maharaj (1892-1971 CE)Created by His Holiness Pramukh Swami MaharajMore than 300,000,000 volunteer hours went into making the complexOver 8,000 volunteers from across the world participated in building itMandir built from intricately carved sandstone and marbleExhibitions on Hinduism, including Bhagwan Swaminarayans life and teachings such as prayer, compassion, and non-violence.Open gardens, water bodies and step-well styled courtyard.

Akshardham is the largest comprehensive Hindu temple in the world for which it enters its name in the Guinness book. Strong security, whole area is clean and well maintained by the management. The temple has 10 Gates which faces to 10 different directions as per the Vedic literature. The temple looks more gorgeous at night with colourful musical fountains and gentle Vedic Indian chants.

AkshardhamAn amazing beautiful peaceful temple.Must visit place if you are in New Delhi.Metro station also there and is just 100 meter apart.Akshardham is really beautiful the main temple is really beautifully crafted. The outer architecture is beautiful and also the inner marbel architecture was more than beautiful. The roof of the main temple is just amazing. The best and the most beautiful part is the main temple where the colors are too good.Note :- You can not take your phone 📱, camera 📷, so you have to stand in the queue to summit them in the cloak room. Secure cloak room 5/5.After the cloak room there is a security check which will be done in a minute you just have to remove your wallet and belt and thats it they will check you and let you pass.Strong security check.Best place to visit.

Also known as Bharat Upavan, the park has lush lawns, trees and shrubs. The park is decorated with bronze sculptures of contributors to Indias culture and history. These statues include children, women, national celebrities, freedom fighters and warriors of India, including notable figures like Mahatma Gandhi.

Here you can experience the majestic artwork on the walls roof and all around the place, good food, the movie experience and the best thing water laser fountain show. You can find the roof of the halls filled with minute carvings that will leave you amazed. The lighting adds to the buety of the temple. The water laser fountain is the center of attraction of the place. Although the line to enter the premises might be long and may take up to 1 hrs, avoid weekends as it will be crowded and monday is a closed day.

The architecture is undoubtedly breathtaking and this place is worth a visit. However the staff is rude, timings of rides and events are not mentioned correctly on the website and not allowing purses or phones inside is incomprehensible. Why should we be asked to return or have to leave our valuables insecurely in cabs. Why not be transparant and allow cellphones. And what harm can purses and bags do...just use security measures. Even airports allow bags, so why shouldnt this place!!!

Beautiful place. Though not a historical place , its made way to Guinness record. Its spreads across acres of land and is so well maintained. Slippers arent allowed. The marble beauty of this place stuns everyone. They have fountain shows too and beautiful gardens. The painting and the garbagriha or the place where the diety is located would just hypnotise you as its such a wonderful piece of art and architecture. Afternoons can be a problem as one needs to walk bare foot. Alot of distance needs to be covered by walk. Its definitely not in the centre of the city. But yet , its worth the travel.

Those who love architecture will find it mesmerizing, and those who love technology will find the light , sound and water show as a breathtaking experience. So basically its a blend of history and future. It is a must watch for all ages. I cannot add any pictures as photography is not allowed inside. Although they do have their own dedicated team of photographers inside at different spots, you can pay them and take back home beautiful memories with you.To be specific different spots have different prices for photography. To take pictures from right side you have to pay 50 rs per photo and only 4 ppl can be in a frame , to click back of akshardham you have to pay approx 150 per photo and no boundation on no. Of ppl. There were other spots as well but we were too tired to check it how. So that will be the left angle of akshardham you can check the prices there as well.

Very very beautiful and clean and careful. Of course, security measures are EXCESSIVE. You can not pass cameras, phones, batteries, bags (but then inside if I saw some stores with bags), etc. Water if they let pass. You have to leave it in free slogans. Of course there are 3 places where you can take a picture and they charge you from 100 to 200 rupees depending on whether you want it with a frame and others.
