Raj Ghat is really a lovely place to visit. It seems to be outside of Delhis pollution and population. Raj Ghat is very big and soothing place. One can spend whole day sitting near the lake. And this is nature friendly where one may visit with family and friends and one may spend lonely time also. It is near Delhi Gate metro Station. I visited there twice in this rainy season. I saw the true colors of nature and its beauty. I recommend everyone should visit at least once. And there is no charge or ticket for entry.
Visit Shanti Van to see the National Shrine set around lush green lawns and trees. Shanti Van is known as Jawahar Lal Nehru memorial. It is located on the bank of River Yamuna,?north of Rajghat.Shanti Van is the Samadhi of Pandit Jawar Lal Nehru, the great National Leader and the first Prime Minister of independent India. Pandit Nehru led India to the path of progress and modernization. He also holds the record for being the longest serving Prime Minister of India. The last rites of Jawahar Lal Nehru (popularly known as Chacha Nehru by children) were performed here on 27th May 1964. A tombstone has been erected at his funeral place at the Shanti Van.The spot is maintained to honor the great leader who was the father of the Non Aligned Movement and who provided a new direction to modern India. Next to the memorial of Pandit Nehru, lies the tomb of his grandson Sanjay Gandhi, who died in a plane crash in 1980. A few other memorials established near the Shanti Van are: Raj Ghat (Mahatma Gandhi), Vijay Ghat (Lal Bhadur Shastri), Shakti Sthal (Indira Gandhi), and Vir Bhumi (Rajiv Gandhi). The memorial is open to visitors on all days without any entry fee. People visit the place to pay homage to the greatest Prime Minister in the history of Indian Democracy. There is no restriction on photography as well.

Shantivan, or the Forest of Peace, is the Samadhi, or cremation spot of India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. The samadi in the form of a large base covered with a lawn is located north of Raj Ghat, the Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi. Shantivan is visited by many visiting dignitaries and heads of state who come here to pay their respects. Special prayer services are organised on the birth and death anniversaries of Nehru. A wonderful area in New Delhi. Recidency of the lord spirits.Raj Ghat is a memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi in Delhi, India. Originally it was the name of a historic ghat of Old Delhi (Shahjahanabad). Close to it, and east of Daryaganj was Raj Ghat Gate of the walled city, opening at Raj Ghat to the west bank of the Yamuna River. Later the memorial area was also called Raj ghat. It is a black marble platform that marks the spot of Mahatma Gandhis cremation, Antyeshti (Antim Sanskar) on 31 January 1948, a day after his assassination. It is left open to the sky while an eternal flame burns at one end. Located on Delhis Ring Road, officially known as Mahatma Gandhi Road, a stone footpath flanked by lawns leads to the walled enclosure that houses the memorial.shantivan- Jawaharlal Nehruvijayghat- lal bahadur shahtrishaktisthal- Indira Gandhisamta sthal- jagjivan ramkishan ghat- chaudhary charansinghveer bhumi- Rajiv ganghiekta sthal- gyani zail singhkarm bhumi- Shankar dayal sharmasangharsh sthal- devi laljannayak sthal- chardra shekharsmriti stal- indrakumar gujralsdaiva atal- atal Bihari vajpayee

Wonderful place to go for a walk in the morning. Other than being peaceful, it has many memorials including those of Jawaharlal Nehru, Rajiv Gandhi, Indira Gandhi and Mahatma Gandhi. Since it has about 2000 trees, the average temperature is quite low, compared to the rest of Delhi. Its free entry too.

This place is in accordance with its name.you will definitely find peace here as visitors are very few.lush green lawns, pedestrian, well maintained gardens, active small marshland to attract birds are things to name a few to add beauty of this serene place.A pond was under construction/renovation when i visited there beside shakti sthal where some goose can be seen.A significant number of indigenous flora and fauna are there. Among fauna common birds such as crow, parrot, mynah, yellow footed green pigeon, kingfisher, white erget, indian peafowls, house sparrows are in plenty.Various rock sculpture of modern art are placed intermittently over places here and there.A good place for refreshing morning/evening walk in nature and paying homage to our two father-daughter duo past prime ministers of India.

Beautiful and peaceful area
Located in the north of Shakti Sthal and Rajghat is the memorial of Indias first prime minister, Jawahar Lal Nehru. He was cremated here in the year 1964. A memorial has been set up at this spot, surrounded by lush green lawns and foliage to honor the first prime minister of India. Lush greenery, sprawling gardens, numerous trees & saplings keep the atmosphere cool & serene. The stretches of greenery run endlessly and in almost every nook & corner, a beautiful plant stands in humility to welcome you. Every year on 14th November, which is Childrens Day as well as his birth date, dignitaries & the heads of the states pay homage to Chacha Nehru. On this occasion, certain prayer sessions & cultural programmes are also organised in Shanti Van to celebrate the event.
