Would never recommend. Rude Management and front desk. They have some weird policies like no outside food or no outside visitors. How the hell a business trip can be accomplished. It is categorized as 4 star, but I am sure due to these policies their ratings should be reviewed. Nowhere else in world I saw those policies coming out of a star rated hotel. The female manager at front doesnt know customer service at all, what can you expect from her associate staff. The worst stay i have had so far. Found Animal excreta in my room.

The worst stay I have had by far. For the price we pay the service is way below par. The staff is very rude and the rooms are miserably small and cramped up. Found animal excreta in my room. The staff do not address us in the right manner and are very arrogant. I had called for the first aid kit and for the kit to reach me it took 20 minutes. The entrance of the hotel is magnificent but the service is dishonourable and undignified.

The only thing to look forward to during the 16-hour flight to New Delhi is check-in at the Royal Plaza. The hotel is magnificent. The rooms modern, clean and very comfortable, and every meal Ive had there has been superb. Delhi is a cacophony of sound, noise, blaring horns and pollution. The Royal Plaza is the oasis of calm and luxury to which you return when you need stress relief!

I stayed in this hotel last year.(2018). Hotel looks great but the rooms are so cramped , untidy, old and mismanaged , because the shower in the bathroom was just fixed quiet low , if shower ,the water would fall over the shoulders and was not even straight , hanging on one nail. Staff need to be trained , when to talk behind about the customers, i came with my fiance, as she is a foreigner. As i left the reception after my check- in i could hear them talking about me. Get some simple manners to act descent guys. Breakfast was only good thing here, thats why 2 stars. I would suggest you to book an Airbnb, that would just cost 50$ a night, rather than spending above 120$ a night here.

One of the best and most comfortable stays I ever had, The Royal Plaza is a state of the art hotel. Right when you enter the hotel there is a Roman vibe through its statues, architecture and Roman garden. The room has all the basic amenities that is expected from a top notch hotel. The staff is very polite and friendly. The breakfast has great variety from north and south Indian to English breakfast. Live counter is exquisite.Even the mini bakery has amazing variety of pastries though a little expensiveAnd special mention for the pianist who is a treat to the ears.

I stayed here on 29-30th november 2019.Actually this hotel should get zero rating but there is no option for this on google. Its a large building with no hospitality and pleasure.Total waste of money, time and mood.Non- cooperative, arrogant staff at reception, travel desk, lobby etc. Long check in time, room upgradation (even when you are paying extra) is tedious job.Poor room, even maharaja suite (room number 503) is very small and ugly. Bathroom fittings are old and not working properly. Toilet flush was out of order- you cant stop it once you press it. Electricity was not there for almost 2 hour. Hospital staff disturb unnecessary- like for mini bar checking, utensils clearance, cleaning room etc. We did not get luggage at check out for long time.No proper cleaning of room. They are not ready to help the guest at all- i was in die hard need of mobile charger in mid night to manage my patient in hospital but as expected they said no to give it at room. Travel desk person said come down and charge your phone here (at 12 am when kids are sleeping and you cant leave them, even i conveyed this to that person)I do not recommend it to anybody, even if you stay here for free of cost. This is one place where you feel trapped. So stay away from this trap. They probably get fake 5 star reviews somehow, just improve their overall rating. Thats why they have nearly about 7500 reviews, much more than any other hotel.

Located at close proximity to Le meridian and shingrla... At Ashoka Road. The location is excellent. The ambiance is terrific... Interior are in Roman style. Statues all around the reception area. The rooms are tiny but comfortable. The service is good. Good for a single night stay. Seems a little expensive though. The rooms are well maintained. Has a tiny swimming pool. You will see a lot of foreigners staying in this hotel. All in all, a decent hotel to stay overnight.

Would NOT recommend this hotel and actually cancelled our 2nd to go somewhere else. Beautiful lobby but thats about it. Terrible customer service, all around. Room was very, very small and not very clean looking, definitely not a 5⭐ hotel!! Biggest issues with this place is they do NOT offer free wifi!?!? This day and age at a 5star hotel to not offer that basic service is absurd! Also there so called filtered water served in glass reusable bottles, I can appreciate the idea behind it to not have plastic but for foreigners visiting India that fear bad water or food is real! I even asked for water bottle to go as we had a tour that left very early and they said they do not offer bottled water. I was shocked, again 5 star service that doesnt off drinkable water to its guests!?!? No way...2 BIG thumbs down for this place👎👎

DO NOT STAY HERE. It is a long review, but please read through it carefully before deciding to stay here. My husband and I had a terrifying experience at this hotel. We walked into the dated lobby, and the only guests we saw were escorts meeting gentlemen. It was late and they require full payment at booking instead of at checkout as most hotels, so we decided to stay. The staff is very unprofessional and cannot be trusted. Additional guests are also not allowed to go up to the room during your stay, even if its for a short visit. Once we checked in, we went to the room and it was very small. The mini fridge and bar had a lock on it, and they take inventory at check in, also very strange. We requested a larger room, which after much discussion and requesting the manager they took us to. It was an upgrade that needed to be paid up front as well. The real traumatizing experience came the 2nd night of our stay. We came back around midnight, fell asleep and suddenly in the middle of the night around 2am we were woken up by loud knocking at our door. A man was shouting in hindi asking if there was a girl in the room. My husband who is from India, stood at the door making sure he couldnt get in and shouted back that we will call security. By some miracle, the man didnt have a weapon, or kick in the door. After a few minutes, he left and we called the front desk immediately explaining the situation. They did not stop anyone from exiting the hotel. We packed up and the manager was asking for us to stay and to not call the police. We made it down to the lobby and not one member of the staff saw anyone exit through the one exit of the hotel that passes through the front desk, and a scanning station before entering. I am an American Citizen, which they knew from check in because you have to give your passport. After the police came and finally forcing the hotel to show us the security footage, we came to understand people of the staff were involved because he knew exactly which room to go to. Our room was at the end of a hallway far from the elevator. We saw the man checking his phone, to confirm the room number. After filing the police report and calling numerous hotels to allow us to check in around 4am we were able to leave and go to Le Meridian.

The one star is for the location. Apart from that this hotel is like a Rolls Royce without an engine. It looks good- but it doesn’t function at all.Rooms are shabby, water is served in crystal bottles instead of mineral water, staff can’t care less, they don’t allow outside food (no 5-star or 4-star comes to mind which has this stupid rule), basic WiFi is chargeable, cutlery to the room is chargeable. Please spend a grand or two extra and take another hotel.

Ive never had staff insult me before I went to this hotel. To start, the room was nice but relatively small (didnt live up to the entrance at all) and the entrance hall was beautiful, but thats where it ends. The shower leaked across the floor but otherwise had a functional bathroom. The staff was overtly rude save for a single trainee. They had ordered the trainee to lock our in room bar, a command even the trainee made seem strange and insulting. WiFi is outrageously priced considering the cost of the hotel. 1 hour is 100 rupees and a full day is 500 rupees. The exchange rate was also by far the worst I had seen during my two week stay in india. 1 USD for 64.5 IRP when a fair one would be 1:71 and an excetable one would be 1:69 which was found at most locations during my trip. We had hoped this would be a nice end of our trip to India but it turned out to be by far the most hostile hotel I have ever stayed in.

Never coming back to stay at this hotel. Heres my experience:1. Incidental charge taken apart from the booking amount. This means your money gets blocked for a week if you dont consume anything from the mini bar or in room dining. This look kind of cheap because Ive stayed at luxury hotels several times and no one takes incidental charge.2. Even after taking the incidental advance, the hotel staff keeps mini bar locked so that the guest cant consume anything. What an insult to the guest. Moreover, when i approached the front desk to ask why the mini bar was kept locked even after taling the incidental charge? The person replied with attitude, Well open it. No courtesy to apologise for the insult that i felt.3. Basic amenities like dental kit, bath gel, slippers, not there in the room.4. Telephonic shower clogged and leaked from the edges.5. Stains on the sheets.6. Key card stopped working all of a sudden. When i called the helpline, the lady on the other end said that someone is coming. Had to wait outside 10-15 minutes until the bell boy came and replaced the access card. The staff of this hotel has a major attitude problem. I will never book my stay here again.

Bad customer experience. Very nice hotel , cant take my eyes off the decorations and the statues placed there. Would give 5 stars for the stay and other stuff. But hopefully if we could get nice staff at the reception. People visit 5 star categories not to just look at the statues and the decorations but also need to experience the 5 star hospitality. When we visited the the hotel, we had some issue with the rooms upgrade which was getting dealt wisely and were told that issue would be resolved. But in the evening, when my father tried to talk to the reception staff regarding the matter if the issue has been resolved, he got no response by the fellow behind the desk. After few times not getting any responses, my father has to raise his voice saying I am not staying here for free at least you can reply to me. Unbelievably, a porter standing next to the desk said everyone pays here. This was really insulting that a porter is dealing with the customer in the very best way he can deal it and the person getting paid to do so is standing quite with his head down not even responding or talking to the my father.Listening to this, lobby manager intervened and he tried to resolve the issue. My father dealt the issue very politely but it was heart breaking when young people working in India forget their values and disrespect their elders. 5 star category doesnt only mean porshe decorations and quality interiors. Quality service is also counted with the 5 star experience.Other than that every staff and every experience was fabulous. But off course one bad experience sometimes overwhelms all the goodness.

An acquaintance actually brought a few sachets of green tea dip bags that we were able to have and believe me, the staff werent even a bit embarrassed.

One of the worst hotels i have ever been to.It’s a blot on the lutyen’s zone. They call it four star property but the hospitality and the behaviour of staff is par below the level of dormitories. When you arrive at the hotel ,there is no one to pick up your luggage and and you have to carry it all the way to your room. When you don’t deposit the advance money ,they come and seize your mini bar items. When asked for wifi ,it came out to chargeable on hourly basis. In room dining,is absolutely pathetic and prices are like 200 Rs for one roti!!!.Everyday same breakast menu, what a consistency!!!They don’t stop here too.Whatever you order in the room, money has to be paid immediately!!Room size is anything but big.No dental kit provided and except for useless shampoo, nothing mentionable is provided in grooming kit also.Book this hotel at your own peril and don’t go for it even if it is the last hotel remaining in the world.

Pathetic hospitality. They are absolutely clueless. Totally unreliable about monetary transactions. One needs to be very alert if one doesnt want to be conned.Water supply erratic. Supplies in the rooms also equally erratic. Newspapers delivered alternate days.Overall nothing to recommend the place except its location!

I stayed there for a night, and believe me it was the worst hotel I have seen in my life. As soon as in reached the hotel I had to shout for a vallet to park my car, I waited for 5 minutes for a vallet to come. They doesnt even care to greet you when you reach the hotel. Now coming to reception, I had to wait for 15 minutes to get my room alloted. I enter the room, and I see that there is only one glass of water, I called the room dining and they ASKED ME TO PAY 500 RS PLUS TAXES FOR USING THEIR GLASS OF WATER, can you believe this. Now coming to the wifi, they charge around 200 rs for using their WiFi for half an hour. We had to struggle to switch on the TV, finally had to call someone to do that and to my surprise the guy said that they intentionally remove dth connection for so and so reasons. Now I called the reception to get in touch with the duty manager and it took me 15 minutes again to get in touch with him and I told him that I would meet him in another half an hour, now when I go to the reception to meet him, the people there tell me to wait for half an hour to meet him, after half an hour I come to know that he had left for the day, lol what a hotel I chose, Now when you try to sleep, you cant do that because they have a pool side club that starts at 11 pm and goes till 5 am, now I had reached a point where I felt that complaining would not change the scenario. It was the worst hotel experience of my life. Do not go there if you do not wish to spoil your time, mood and money.

Rooms are neat and well kept and the room service is provided without delay and mini bar has basic drinks for your consumption. Surroundings are well maintained despite a large number of customers. Staff are friendly and very cooperative. Breakfast is good with variety of dishes which are well prepared. Slightly overcrowded in proportional to space. The hotel is recommendable to persons visiting New Delhi, you will never regret staying in this hotel.

Request a female to never ever stay at this hotel. My Indian guy friend was staying with his American wife and in the middle of the night, a random guy started banging on the door for freaking 5 minutes saying that he was the owner and knows there is a girl inside the room. He kept insisting to open the door. Luckily my friend did not. The staffs are all involved in this racket and the police is useless. No one helped then finally around 2am, I took them to another hotel. Extremely unsafe place. The lobby is hell quiet in spite of the location. Very scary experience and that too right in the heart of the capital.Don’t know what all would have happened if my friend would have opened the door. The police or the management never approached us back with the details of the guy. Horrifying experience which can never be erased.

The location of the hotel is outstanding and probably thats the biggest USP I found out during my stay. The room was small but the ambiance was good and optimum. However when I normally stay in a place I look for the overall experience. Let me share some of the contrast which caught my attentionWhen I reached the place and was undergoing security check, I observed there are 3 people standing in front of the X ray machine but none ventured to help me with the luggage. They were busy chatting. Not that I expected them to help but at least I have seen forthcoming staff asking if they can help across all small/ big hotels I have travelledThe next thing which caught my attention was that the reception did not even smile for a while while I checked in. Very rare indeed! They charge you for Wifi. I mean who does this in todays world and that too after paying an exorbitant rate. I was transported to Ice age.The taps to flow hot water takes close to 45 seconds which leads to unnecessary water wastage. I sincerely think they should take care of it for the overall pressing water needs of Delhi.I was checking out quite early (around 0530 am). So I called them around 0515 am and informed that I have taken a water bottle from the mini bar and they can check the mini bar to ensure faster checkout. Promptly I was told not to worry and the bill is ready. When I landed downstairs for billing they frantically started calling the housekeeping to check the Mini bar. When I asked why they couldnt do it when I called I was informed that they cant actually check unless I leave the room. I have never heard a hotel to distrust their guest to this extent. As if I would have gulped down liquor early morning at 0515 am, after the staff checks the mini bar. I dont think I even over estimate myself to this extentToo much negativity exposed so let me end it in a good note. In the evening if you walk down the lobby you can listen to amazing piano being played by one of the staff. That soothed me to a great extent. With such experience and options available in an around CP I would recommend to skip this place for a better alternative

Deluxe rooms are tiny and badly designed. Not much space for two people to move around. Our rooms key card wouldnt work properly. So everytime you return to your room, you would have to go all the way back to the reception to activate it again. Even then, sometimes, the key wont work. Some staff are friendly. Some are not. Breakfast is decent. Becuase of the Delhi pollution, you wouldnt want to hangout in the garden or swim outside anyway. So i wont recommend this place to someone unless you have to absolutely stay in CP and you cant get a room in any of the other hotels nearby.

Absolutely arrogant staff. What I experienced is they were letting out rooms to AirIndia passengers who ended up there because AirIndia sent them there due flight delays. Hotel staff were forcing two unknown passengers to share a room against their will because AirIndia directed them to do so without telling this to the affected passengers. Air India is an absolutely pathetic airline as it is, and whoever works with them isnt any good either. Hotels like this one are expected to have some sensible and polite staff.

Infrastructure is excellent, rooms are spacious and location is nice. But staff can be better behaved.I had specifically booked for a type of room, they didnt have it, so were trying to convince me to downgrade. I requested for an upgrade and they very reluctantly gave it, and came and locked the minibar. I wasnt planning to use the minibar, but this action was kinda showing a mistrust from their side.Even at the breakfast buffet the staff was kind of rude to everyone.

Be safe when you stay in this hotel. Highly unfriendly arrogant staff. You cant be surprised if your things are thrown out of your room without your consent - no manners or basic courtesy towards anyone including ladies. How can authorities and staff of such a high level hotel stoop to such low levels!!! Avoid at any cost - both business and personal stays unless you are helpless !!!

The hotel is a magestic one with 419 rooms all styled in Italian architecture. It has got a bar (onyx), a spa/salon (energy) ,a swimming pool, a dining space (lutyens), banquet halls. Quality of food is quite good and variety is ample, but all the items are overpriced with charges being almost 5 times higher than normal for certain items. For a mineral water bottle of 1litre I was charged INR 292 against a printed MRP of INR 59. Rooms are comfortable and equipped with all amenities. But the fact is that in pictures they appear to be better/more beautiful than they are in reality.

Royal plaza will not allow you to get food from outside into the hotel. And no I am not talking about the restaurant. (That would be understandable).. And if you do get food Into your room, God forbid you ask for crockery. They charge you inr400 for a fork!!!!! The location is the only thing to be recommended in this hotel. Not one thing other than that. The food quality is below average and the prices are atrocious. Stay here only if you just need a place to crash and nothing else. And yeah be sure to carry your own toothbrush and toiletries. (they give out used toothbrushes if you ask for a dental kit!)

Was in Delhi on an official trip and stayed for a night. The 4 stars I have given them is specifically for their sumptuous breakfast. Amazing spread of choice. Batura and Aloo parota was very good. Disappointing aspect was the size of room. Was so small that I hardly had any walking space. Also its time they check their bathroom fittings. Quite shaky. Also I had dhal kichadi which was really good. Again 4 stars for the food
