The ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur was beheaded here on 11 November 1675 on the order of Aurangzeb.Before his body could be quartered and exposed to public view, it was stolen under the cover of darkness by one of his disciples, Lakhi Shah Vanjara, who then burnt his house to cremate the Gurus body.This place is marked by another gurdwara, Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib.The severed head (Sis in Hindi or Punjabi) of Guru Tegh Bahadur was brought to Anandpur Sahib by Bhai Jaita, another disciple of the Guru. Before it was cremated, he took it to Ambala city for a night and there is another gurdwara as well by the name of Shri Sis Ganj Gurdwara near there local vegetable market, Gobind Rai, who would later become Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth and last Guru of the Sikhs.
Very Peaceful and Humble People.Nice place for over night stay for people who are coming in old Delhi.Rooms are available at reasonable price like 250โน for NON-AC and 500โน & 700โน for AC room, but rooms are for family only. HALL is free for all to sleep. Food quality is also good in Lunger.

It is the holy place where ninth Guru of Sikhs, Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji sacrificed his life for saving the Kashmiri Pandits and Hindu religion from being converted to Islam. The head of Guru Sahib was cut here and body was cremated at the same place. Parking is open only from 9pm to 9am. But Govt. Parking is nearby. During day hours you can park there and walk or take a rickshaw to reach Gurudwara Sahib.

This type of category need not to be rated like this. Itโs so divine and serene that one can easily feel the presence of God Almighty. Though itโs in a crowded area of Delhi, but once you go inside, the level of peace one will achieve cannot be attained anywhere.

This lovely temple buit in 18th century (around 1780s) for the memory of martyrdom 9th Sikh Guru Shri Guru Teg Bahadur who was Martyrdom in 1675.Aurangzeb beheaded Guru Tegh Bahadur on 24 November 1675, in front of a massive crowd. Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib in Chandni Chowk.You can also visit the kitchen where the huge amount of food (prashad) are prepared to feed the every single devotees. The interior of this temple is amazing.
