Nestled into Waters Rd in Neutral Bay is Ramen Toriichi serving up some drool-worthy dishes that will totally hit your Japanese comfort food cravings. Their signature dish of Cheese Chicken Katsu is a marvel in itself with a crispy crumbed chicken outer encasing molten cheese just begging to be drizzled into your mouth. I also tried the Toriichi Chicken Ramen and Roasted Pork Chashu Ramen which were lovely and warming with rich broth. Classics such as Chicken Gyoza, Edamame and Cucumber Shio made for beautiful lunch that is already pulling me back for more! Service was warm and attentive. A pleasure!

Was very excited to try their chicken cheese katsu, since everyone was raving about it online. For $19 for the set, not the best value for money and I dont think the katsu is chicken, it has a breaded outer layer filled will stretchy cheese. I also expected something more in the miso soup, just spring onions. I also grabbed the chicken nanban bento take away for $10 and the amount is not enough! The nanban sauce...there should be more of it, and not enough rice. Also the service from the lady needs improvement. She asked me a question but didnt make eye contact and acknowledge my answer...For an area that has several Japanese eateries, there are better places for your Japanese food fix.

Beautiful Japanese food. The indoor seating is not bad but the outdoor can get a little windy and cold depending on the weather (apparently heaters are all non functional)The food is overall nice and well presented. Didnt find the ramen amazing although I do like the pork and chicken broths respectively. The broth is thick but not Gumshara thick.I personally think the extra ramen portion would ruin/dilute the broth so just order it standalone or just ask if they can separate the extra serving on a side. The deep fried food are nice, and love the smon skin. the curry is not bad either. The pan fried gyoza isnt the normal japanese gyoza Ive had but still alright. Will come back for more.

Overall great food! The ramen style is quite different to a lot of other ramen joints. All the broths are soy-based, so if you are after miso based, this may not be the kind of ramen for you. The broth is not as thick but still very flavourful and delicious!

Ramen Toriichi specialises in delicious chicken-based broths and has recently added a pork-based broth to their menu. I enjoyed slurping up the Ninniku red, it was super thick and full of flavour. My only complaint is that I didnt think the ramen or spicy gyoza was spicy at all, even though they were marked with chilli symbols.I recommend trying some of the side dishes as they were really tasty and pretty unique. They had this awesome cheesy katsu and the texture was perfect with the smooth, creamy cheese and crunchy batter. The cucumber miso was a nice surprise, super refreshing.🍜 Toriichi - chicken broth⠀🍜 Ninniku red - garlic chicken broth⠀🍜 Roasted pork chasu ramen ⠀🧀 Cheese chicken katsu⠀🍢 Teriyaki tofu⠀🍗 Chicken katsu⠀🥒 Cucumber Miso⠀🍣 Salmon Sashimi⠀🥟 Spicy gyoza⠀

Love the idea of a set with Ramen and a Donburi bowl so you can have a bit of everything. If you order Ramen it is quite thick and its chicken which Ive never had before. Ramen Toriichi is such a hidden gem! I was extremely impressed with the chicken-based ramens, and this is now one of my favourite ramen places of all time. The Niniku Red ramen was so delicious, and I loved how thick and rich the soup was, in the best way possible. I also loved the deluxe ramen teishoku with the half Shoyu ramen and mini chashu don. The side dishes were so tasty and unique as well, definitely try the cheese chicken katsu and miso cucumber. I loved my meal here and would highly recommend trying out Toriichis incredible chicken based ramen and Japanese food!

I absolutely enjoyed the food here! The pork bone based ramen with chashu was so unique. Their flavour is so different from any other ramen place I’ve tried in Sydney. It was really nice and the texture of the soup is a bit thick even though it doesn’t look like it. Overall, one of my favourite ramens, flavour is so unique! A must try is definitely the Cheese Chicken Katsu! I don’t know anywhere else who serve these and they taste amazing. I want to come back for this. The staff were friendly and quite attentive. Food came out within 10-15 minutes after ordering. Inside, Toriichi Ramen, they have a really nice mural of ramen next to the cash register area and you can tell they specialise in ramen.

A good bowl soup of ramen with a slight less thick broth of ramen. The broth is creamy and has that subtle taste of the pork bone. The chatsu is tender. Ramen in chicken broth was delicious! Creamy and tasty, I don’t usually finish the broth but I drank the whole bowl. Ordered the lunch combo set which included a half ramen and chicken rice don. Everything was tasty and very reasonable prices (lunch set was only $10). I also love that they do half-ramen sizes, perfect for me. Would definitely return to try the other things on their menu!

Ramen Toriichi has my favourite ramen in all of Sydney!! It is my favourite restaurant to eat out at and I typically go once every three weeks. The food is absolutely delicious and it is consistently good every single time. It is very affordable and the variety across the menu is so impressive. The service is amazing, the staff are so lovely and friendly and they remember my name and greet me when I walk in :) They are so sweet and helpful. My favourite is the Spicy Pork Ramen and the Deluxe Ramen Special Toriichi bento box! Try it out and you will not regret it.

Rating: a solid 3.5/5Another ramen joint. Occupying what used to be a carousel of cafes n restaurants, this one opened without much fanfare (read: excessive promos, invites n write ups via social media n PR machine). All the better for them as it allows down to earth (read: no pressure, honest) calibration of ratings n reviews. It can be refreshing to enjoy a joint’s offerings without hyped up expectation. Run by japs n having more than half of its patronage by japs is a reassuring start. We ordered a couple of their signature shio ramen, chicken namban, coriander dumplings n ebi (prawn) bao. First up the dumplings came out looking a bit dry n sad. Must be the frozen kind we thought. Dont we all judge by appearances.. dip the dumplings in the dumpling sauce n enjoy its delicate paper thin wrap (slightly crunchy yet did not tear easily) n fragrant filling. A nice appetizer 3/5.Chicken namban, not drenched in ponzu sauce (thankfully) but drizzled w tartar like jap mayo. Juicy succulent pieces they were. A 3.25/5.Ramen came out piping hot. The broth is hakata style which is less thick n more milky than yasaka or gumshara. Add the pickled yuzu pepper, you’ll get a unique faint citrusy aroma in the broth. Noodles was al dante, just the way i liked em. The let down was the toppings more specifically the (thick) chasu pieces. They were from a leaner cut than i personally like. That said, they were quite soft. Just drier than i’d like. Still a 3/5.The ebi bao set was quite divine. Perfect ratio of meat n bao. The breaded ebi was juicy yet crunchy. A welcome contrast to the soft bao. A 3.75/5.Here’s hoping the carousel stops w ramen toriichi.

Wow, this Ramen place maybe in my top 5. Their signature ramen broth is full of flavour, you have a choice of adding truffle oil (recommend) and a sort of yuzu paste which surprisingly adds a strong kick. The chicken is cooked delicately and the flavour! Im going to have to try their slow cooked chicken special next time! Ramen noodles has great texture. The menu has a lot of variety, but wow you have to try their ramen if youre a first timer. Portions satisfied my lunch appetite, but to be super full Id go for some sides or extra meat. Well done. Used to be one of the nicer Ramen places. Returned for a quick 6:15pm dinner after >6 months to find the lighting dimmed, the bowls literally stuck to the tables and suspect the cutlery not the cleanest. Not a good sign during times of COVID. A quick peak into the kitchen when paying shows a messy kitchen. The saving grace is that the food was reasonably good still.I support local businesses, and hope to share feedback.

I dont know if the chef has changed lately, but the reviews are not indicative of the quality and authenticity of the ramen that I had last night. The egg with my ramen was not a soy egg with a nice yolk, but a fully cooked boiled egg. Very disappointing. I have never been to a ramen place that would serve a simple, boiled egg with the ramen. The broth was very salty and did not have the depth of flavour I would expect. A disappointing experience and I would not go back.

Toriichi Ramens signature is their Paitan - a creamy, chicken based broth thats a great alternative to pork based soups. The food quality and quantity was great.Deluxe Katsu bento box - chicken was fried to perfection and it was served with rice, fried tofu, salad and Miso soup.Red torichi Ramen - it was spicy but tolerable spicy for an Indian tongue. Ramen soup was just finger licking good. Fried chicken with it was done perfectly too.Strongly recommend this restaurant do not miss their Ramens.

Absolutely awful. Got a katsu donburi. The katsu was extremely salty, almost to the point of being inedible. Conversely the sushi rice was over-sweet. Instead of a properly cooked egg (for a donburi Id expect something fried or scrambled), they gave HALF a hard-boiled egg. Along with ONE slice of cucumber and ONE slice of tomato (and one slice of bamboo shoot that is essentially cardboard), that was the entire, small bowl. Im glad I didnt order any sashimi to go with it.If you want a good donburi, go to Sakura in North Sydney. This place is just terrible.

I’ve been to Toriichi a few times and the standout was the amazing broth in the black sesame ramen; there was noticeable taste of sesame in the broth that doesnt taste overpowering nor grainy. There was just enough chilli to warm the throat, but not be spicy.Chashu and chicken in the soup was passable. Eggs were overcooked, which seems to be a recurring problem (egg doneness is rather inconsistent). Please keep the eggs to 6 minutes and then an ice bath. Also ordered the yuzu lemon chicken, and the karaage. Well fried, but the karaage was under marinated. All in all the best broth in the Lower North Shore.
