We took take out from Bhatti Village (back in Feb 2021) since it is an indoor restaurant and we arent visiting indoor areas yet.So glad we tried it finally. Take out was packed nicely with no spillage - yay!We tried prawn balchao with poi and pork vindaloo with sanas. Very very nice and very different. Prawn balchao was nice and tangy with a kismoor taste/smell and the pork vindaloo was so different from the usual stuff you get in typical restaurants. Not the softest pork but very flavorful and it went so well with the amazing sanas. The reviews about the serradura were right - this place makes really nice serradura albeit bit too heavy for me. I would appreciate if the restaurant makes it in a non plastic container though :(Highly recommend for those who want to try goan food in a more homemade setting. Cant wait to visit the restaurant once covid madness goes away...
We have been old customers of Bhatti Village & have known Patrick for almost as long but, unfortunately, the quality & taste of some of their best dishes was below average on our last visit. I hope they up their game & bounce back to their original reputation.
I got here for lunch and they followed all the covid protocols. I love how patient they were in answering my questions. Also the fact that when I asked them for their speciality, they said everything is and now I get it why. Their suggestions were absolutely apt and food was beyond expectations. I had something like prawns gizad with poi and rava fried white bait. I packed some tender coconut starter for tomorrow. Must visit for some authentic food.
Bharti village been the hidden gem to be found to enjoy its delicious recipes especially prawns in white cream sause been the most wanted. Amazing family joint brought up by a family keeping n growing goan cuisine clubbed with continental been a killer combination.
Bhatti village is a restaurant located at Nerul, Goa. Its a hidden gem so I suggest you use Google maps to get there. The family that runs the restaurant are very kind ,accomodating and willing to make suggestions of the specials available at the restaurant. The staff at the restaurant was very welcoming and friendly. We had,1) clams sukkha2) chonak fry(boneless fried fish with rawa)3) surmai fry4) prawns curry with lady finger5) lepo fryWe enjoyed everything we tried. The place also serves chilled beers to go along with your fish fry.Carry cash when youGo here as at times the network is an issue for online payment. We had a lovely time here and highly recommend bhatti village to all.
Best goan food ever had . You will get authentic goan dishes here
Great local goan food.Must visit.
Undoubtedly one of the best Goan restaurants that I’ve visited. If you’re a foodie, you’ll love the food served here. Coming to the ambience- It’s a compact place , decorated with subtle lighting and simple interiors, set within the owner’s home premises. To reach one has to follow maps well , since it’s a home in a village area, off the main road, it might be easy to miss the place. We visited for lunch and had an array of dishes, most of which were suggested by the owner of restaurant. They helped us in choosing the dishes, suggesting which combinations go better and were quite friendly. Overall the service was really good. Coming to the food items we tried- here they go -Starter - Sanna , Chicken Chilli Fry(Goan Masala)Main Course - Goan Bread , Crab Goan Masala CurryDessert - SerraduraAnd I must say , each and every dish were delectable - The Sanna, which looked similar to an idli, was made of fermented rice batter and coconut. It was soft, fluffy and the slight sweetness in it made it taste even better when had with the spicy goan masala chicken chilli. Bread was again very soft and the texture was good too. Crab curry - yet another great dish, every bit of which tasted awesome. The crab meat tasted great and we felt the spice mix in curry was very appropriate. Despite not being a fan of spicy food I liked this wholeheartedly. This was spicy yes, but it didn’t make me feel like my stomach is on fire, like it happens with spicy dishes often!! Last but not the least the milk pudding based dessert with a base a top layer of cookie crumbs - Serradura, commendable as well. All said, being a foodie, I would love to revisit ‘Bhatti Village’ any number of times.
Awesome food ...service cud be better
Quaint little place. Authentic goan food which is simply delicious. Reasonably priced. A must go to place.
This is a gem Hidden on twisty roads of Goa. Must visit place for all sea food lovers. Try their white bait, there cannot be a better crispy fish than this. Also have the prawns curry. Its mild and soothing. The spices are mixed so well that no one spice overpowers. Above all the prawns are very fresh. Pocket friendly place for everyone. Worth a visit many times
Look for itFamily runExcellent porkEach dish has a different flavor
Can skip the place. Decor and service is fine. Food taste is ok, nothing great nor bad. Quantity too less for the cost (we were 3 and not heavy eater). Goan Fish curry had tomatoes instead of coconut so didnt like. Rawa fry bland (despite instructions of medium spicy), crockery not clean. For some reasons white bait rawa fry is promoted by them but its worth a skip as its over priced. I should have adhered to warnings by reviewers with poor rating.
Great recommendation by a localite in Goa helped us find this treasure trove of the best Goan food hidden on an unassuming tiny winding Goan road. The sea food here is to die for as is their pork and traditional Goan sweet dishes, Serradura. A really warm family run the show here and what a storm they cook up. Highly recommend this place 👌👌
Small, cozy and family run. This place has some of the tastiest authentic Goan food I’ve tasted. The family is warm and friendly and they’ll even tell you a bit about the traditions of Goa if you’re interested. Some days it get packed so make sure you call and reserve a table. The food was so delicious it went down so quick we forgot to take pics.
A must visit for authentic Goan homemade cuisine at affordable price. Service is very personalized, Mr Patrick (owner) takes care of customers taste. Very warm homely and cozy ambience. Location seems to be lonely but dont be discouraged, its must visit place.
Amazing place for Goan food. Finding the place was a little difficult as we were driving in a car. It’s a small lane so you might want to park it a little ahead and then walk down the Lane to the place. From outside it looks like a Portuguese home. You get a feeling of entering a wine cellar :) very friendly and warm welcome just like at home. We loved the butter garlic prawns, Bombay duck amongst the other things we ordered. Overall good food.Do try their Serradura their local desert ! I tried it at multiple places post that including some bigger restaurants (really rated more than 4.8 ) in Goa but this stands out of all the places for Serradura!
A lovely place nestled in a village just off the hustle and bustle of the tourist belt, this is an amazing place to have authentic Goan Food. Family owned and run, these places are a dying breed but the absolute best. Quality never drops and their options are so good. Enjoying their food reminded me of my Grandmas amazing cooking and transported me to childhood days. The food was so good we were literally food stalked by a neighboring table just coz we knew what to eat. Recommended them to try the serradurra to end the meal, I gobbled 3 of them so fast I didnt even stop to click a picture I could post.
For good home made Goan food & vibes!
A cozy heritage restaurant. Food is really good and affordable. I had chinak in butter garlic sauce. The server there had good recommendations and explained everything nicely. If you go during Feb-March, do try their Uraak!Highly recommended.
No trip to North Goa is complete without a dinner (theyre only open in evenings) here. easily the best selection of offbeat (read forgotten) and staple goan dishes, all with a homely, personal touch. dont ask for the menu, just ask the owner for his recommendations... and especially for the catch of the day. also, they source great local feni!
Unique place.. food is okay
Good authentic Goan food
Good food. Great ambience if a Little too cooped up. But the food is really really finger licking good. Good authentic Goan home Comfort food. One distraction would be the portion size.
Superb authentic Goan food
Good food, neat ambience.
Absolutely delightful. They really know what they are doing and their confidence in their offering is a 100% justified. Excellent food with a homely feel. Take their suggestion and have stuff .. you are in for a treat.
Good ambiance, food delicious & on d whole a cool place to dine, but out of d way
Patrick is an amazing host.
Came here through a friends recommendation. Wasnt disappointed. The food was indeed delicious ( Piglet fry was really tender tasty)Also the tongue came in a delicious gravy which you can have along with the goan poi.The owner will help you place the order based on whats special for the day and on your requirements... So need to worry or get confused. It is a bit pricey. But worth it. And location isnt in a prime location so ull need mother GPS s guidance.Note: No thalis at dinner time. Only for lunch
One of the best place run by local goan family members. They serve authentic local goan veg and non-veg. goan food.Must visit places in Goa
Very nice place to try out the goan dishes and totally worth the price
True blue Goan enterprise, no frills, just great food and laid back goan hospitality
Authentic Goan food!! Prawn fry top of the world !!!!
Authentic Goan food paradise
This place has amazing food. I loved their chorizo and baby pig. Good food must visit
Disappointed with the place as first wasted our time to find parking and argument with neighbors to not park here and there as theres no proper place to park car then ordered drinks & food to which food was not that great in taste. We sat outside as wanted to have smoke but the tables were placed in less space with big wall & no ventilation outside. There were no waiter or manager outside to take order if we want to repeat order. Twice, thrice we get in & ask for order & to repeat drinks.
This is one of the best goan restaurant in goa👍
Amazing place awesome heavenly food easy on pocket homely ambience a must go to place in goa.
This place will give you a home like experience. Food has a authentic Goan taste. Let them order for you...they are best........they customise food for you...
Lovely Little PlaceA Tad Bit ExpensiveMUST TRY SERADURA: Magnificent Dessert
Authentic Goan dishes.
Very very tasty food. The manager comes across as arrogant but other wise it is fine
Some of the finest sea food Ive had and is definitely worth visiting
Well rounded goan food, covering all vegetarian, sea/river food, and meats. My regulars are always the butter garlic river prawn, pork amsol and garlic butter catre to mop it all up.
Excellent Taste.
Authentic Goan food. Fish roe cutlets and before tongue roast was the best.
A must go to place if you want to appreciate real good authentic Goan cusine.
The most amazing n authentic seafood in all of Goa...A MUST VISIT 👌 👌👌 👏 👏Set up in a Goan household n personally run by the owners family...every dish is a signature dish....Quaint setup of a goan home with casks, goan memorabilia n glass bottles/ decanters etc... a very local and authentic ambience has been recreated ...From xacuti to goan masala dishes .... n prawns or clams or fish ... seafood is fingerlicious in starters as well as main course.... With goan Poi bread/rice.... it adds on the true goan taste....For the chicken lovers also... same goan flavor with melting in mouth tender chicken... itz an amazing place...The Seradurra pudding is a must try...A few tips...-call n book...as it generally has waiting during peak times.. google number works...- keep smtime in hand ... n enjoy the drinks ..as during peak times ..with each dish personally done... it may take a little time...- cards work...- quantities are sufficient for two (medium appetite types..)- the lane leading to the place is narrow n very unassuming... but patience... the place is worth all the effort....N definitely a lot more...A definite visit during every Goa trip..Thanks a lot Patrick n Royston 🙏 🙏 😊😊
Delicious Authentic Goan food. Some of the dishes you must try are Tisreo sukhem, Beef Tongue, Red Snapper Rawa Fry, Pork Am Sol. Mouth watering!
Amazing food. Try sera dura sweet dessert it was delicious. Prawns curry was very tasty. Interior is just like a home. Here food is prepared by husband and wife.
Authentic Goan food! Warm hospitality
Simply amazing food..must visit place
Was sad that they are closed for dining in!Me. D’Souza ver graciously offered to deliver. The Pigling was heavenly. Prawns too. Way to go, Sir. Loved your food, delicious as always.
Visiting again for sure got introduced to a dish called serradura. Must try dish.
Lovely food slightly pricey for takeaway but authentic and tasty. Would love to come back when they start a dine-in
It is a pity to see this popular place being abandoned by the diners
Great place for delicious Goan food.
We are regulars at this place whenever we go to goa. If you want good homemade authentic goan food then this is a place you should not miss. Their sannas are excellent. Bait fish, sorpotel, beef curry, serradura all a must try. Difficult to pin point just one good dish as all the dishes we had here were awesome.
Bhatti village : if you try to locate it without a Goan accompanying you , well, good luck to you ... it’s like the owner doesn’t want you to find it ... anyway ,we normally have plenty of help when we visit Goa ...every time we visit Goa, we very faithfully visit Bhatti village ... am sure we would have tasted every single item on their menu ... king fish fry , Chonak fry , melt in the mouth beef young’s roast with the lingering taste of nutmeg , wine chicken , beef chilly roast , sananas, pork vindalhu ,poi , prawns curry and to round it off cera Dora and caramel custard ... it’s crowded , it’s loud , it’s non pretentious ... it’s typically Goan ...with a good selection of drinks ... it’s not for the fuzzy wussys... go if you love great food , not if you are looking for “ambience”
Must visit.....dont go for the menu, ask them whats the speciality of the day and order.wonderful food. Must try seradura
What home cooked food feels like. Friendly fellow who runs the place and we enjoyed the fish dishes the most along with some meat. The local bread (poiee) was superb too. This place is not easy to find but its worth the trip. Start off with a cold kingfisher....
Good food
Authentic Goan style food
Good food, good ambiance
Cant define their seradura.. too good
Good food...ok ambiance
Just visited this place...This is the best place in Goa to have traditional Goan cuisine...The food and service is absolutely home like and very friendly...For all Seafood lovers this place is truly a blessing where you can gorge on your favorites...I would surely recommend this place to anyone looking for Traditional Goan Seafood Experience....Will be visiting soon....
If you want to eat home cooked average food at prices of Taj hotel then only go to this place to spend your hard earned money..we ordered fish curry rice and they charged 425 for fish curry and 85 extra for a small bowl of rice..which is unbelievable given the quality.. You can easily get it at any other place for very less..Since you are eating inside a house down the village road forget about the ambience.. The only view is view of bottles and their backyard. Most importantly, they are not charging what they have written on the menu. They will lure you to order something and then charge you as per their wish..just like pizza ordering.. When you see the price it looks 200 and then they will ask you if you would like it with cheese or without cheese and with extra toppings and you end up saying YES.And final pizza becomes Rs. 500.Will never go there nor recommend anyone.
Was simply an amazing experience. From the decor of this lovely family run restaurant to the simply amazing freshly prepared food. Would definitely be going there again soon and would suggest to others to also go and try the dishes Had authentic Goan sannas after ages. Very good pricing of items and would suggest one goes in early as there is a chance you would not get a table otherwise.
Love sea food and hospitality
A Very homely place. Fish was out of this world and reasonably priced. The owners are hands on and the place neat and clean.
