I took the family for breakfast for the first time and we were happy. Service was excellent and was great.

My wife laughed at me when I “NEEDED” pancakes. We’ll, during a drive through on our way to St Louis we stopped into Liberty for the first time. Their food was exactly what we needed and yes I would definitely recommend the pancakes. Staff was super friendly too.

This place had everything right..I had a House Omelet with Gyro meat, tomato, onions, and Feta.. I topped it all with Sausage Gravy. With American Fries and a pancake it was way more then I needed and I left enough to feed another person !! LOL. All these tasted great. The decor and fixtures are dated if that will detract from your enjoyment, but that is the only non-A+. Friendly, accurate servers, reasonable prices. Enjoy !!

Table and seat needed to be wiped down twice. Ordered breakfast and it was nothing extraordinary. The hash browns were greasy.

Eat there always drive 30 miles. Was in the hospital in Peoria for heart surgery after 7 days of hospital food I had my wife bring me a bowl of there vegetable soup I have never had a bad meal at Liberty I would give them 10 stars.

We stopped in for lunch. Wasnt crazy busy but there were other patrons. We were in the area for a Quilting function and wanted to stop before our ride home. The staff was so friendly and polite! Our drinks, soups and meals were all perfect with no complaints. Thats huge because my MIL complains about something everywhere we go! Our food was so delicious. My daughter wants to come back again to bring her daddy. She says that hes going to love it. I would recommend this place to anyone nearby!

Liberty is a great choice for everything from breakfast through dinner. It’s also a nice place to meet friends.

I tried to visit another diner closer to the freeway and they lost power.. So i googled and found this place and it had power! We were so hungry and mom n pop diners are usually harder for me to tolerate.. As i am very picky about the aesthetics, menu items and food preparation... Lets say this place was awesome good! Service was quick and pleasant! I ordered corned beef eggs and hash browns.. I like my hash (unfortunately) from the can and mush but crispy.. That it was! And my has browns were delightfully crisp and perfect with a hint of grease n butter! Eggs were perfect as i asked for over medium and had the right amount of yolkiness i enjoy! My friend ordered the gyro sandwich minus the goods.. But she loved the flavor and how it had a touch of brown to the meat... The fries.. Amazingly cooked! Idk who was the chef this day but he got my seal of approval! The place wasnt cluttered with tables or people and was very comfortable. We dined for about 45 minutes. If i ever come this way again i will be sure to stop in! Thank you staff and owners for making this out of towner feel at home!

Cooked perfectly! Fast and friendly service! I usually have to order my bacon well done to make sure its actually cooked. I forgot to tell them at this restaurant but they got it just right! Hashbrowns were liggtly brown and crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Coffee was refilled before it was half a cup. Ill bring my family when they wake up.

Liberty Family Restaurant1131 Shooting Park Rd.Peru Ill. 61354Early Sunday morning the day after Halloween my family and I head over for some breakfast at Liberty Family Restaurant in Peru Illinois. The place looks fine from the outside, beige vinyl siding with large green signs and the neon OPEN sign in the window, nothing special nothing bad. The parking lot is in good shape with ample parking and spaces available.Upon walking in we were greeted in a quickly and seated at a table for four. The dining area is spacious and clean. Our server Tess arrived and brought 4 menus, I find that odd because my children are 6 and 4. They don’t need menus. In the center of the table is a large carousel of salt and pepper, mustard (which was ¾ empty), ketchup and so on that took up a lot of room at the table. These are the sorts of things that should be brought upon request and not sitting there giving me table claustrophobia.The menu is very limited. For dinner that is fine but for breakfast there should be many more choices especially the children’s menu. I ordered the Gypsy Skillet – potatoes, diced ham, onions, green peppers and mushrooms with eggs over easy and melted cheese. I chose not to have mushrooms because in my experience they tend to overload skillets with nasty soggy sub-standard mushrooms. For my drink I ordered Coke.The food comes out fast and hot. Problem is it wasn’t good. All of the food had a certain odd flavor I could not figure out, maybe it is the griddle I just don’t know. The cheese was sliced processed and not shredded cheese as it should be. The portion was small and overpriced. My 4 year old son who usually puts on a pancake clinic wanted nothing to do with his pancakes. So I tried them and agreed with him. They too had that odd funky seasoned griddle flavor. Even the Coke had a bad flavor.According to The Big Food JerkThis joint has decent service, but bad overpriced food. The bathroom was dirty and stinky with stained ceiling tiles. I felt like I needed a shower when I walked out. There are far better places for breakfast than this. My advice is steer clear of Liberty Family Restaurant for breakfast.

Liberty has a large variety of wonderful breakfast and lunch choices as well as daily specials. They serve large portions of high quality food. Great family atmosphere and excellent service.

Good family restaurant with a wide variety on the menu and friendly, efficient staff. Servers are friendly and come around just often enough. The pasta and baked goods, especially the pies, are excellent. Lunch meat sandwiches are a bit lacking, but when they put them in a delicious, flaky croissant it makes it okay. Soups are okay. Prices are reasonable. Not a great place to eat vegetarian.

Don’t be fooled by reviews like we were that make this place sound like the end all for breakfast. Restaurant was not busy yet 30 minute wait before food was served cold. Waitress never came back to check on us, for coffee refills, or forgotten syrup for my kids pancakes that got cold waiting in attempts of trying to wave someone down. It was just me, my wife, and 4 year old.... not a large table either. We will be spending our money elsewhere when we’re back in town.

The PlaceLiberty Family Restaurant is located in Peru, Illinois close to the intersection of Rt 251 and Shooting Park Road. There is ample parking in their lot and this restaurant is handicap accessible. Great for large groups or elderly patrons. The restroom are due for an update. Very much a family atmosphere... where everyone knows your name. Definitely one of the best or the best breakfast option in town.The Menu/FoodOverall the restaurant has a very complete menu. Ive been here for breakfast many times and it is always good. The skillets are great and the omelettes never disappoint. The portion sizes are very generous.The Service/Experience/ValueThe service is friendly, efficient, and helpful. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The value is very good for the service and quality received. Highly recommend Liberty Family Restaurant.

Our breakfast food was good. The glasses of water had a chemical taste so I would avoid getting that. Service was excellent.

Stopped here for lunch one Sunday afternoon with my dad and daughter for a quick meal. The setting is humble but peaceful, and the service was standard. I ordered the baked ham special and it was average at best. My dad wasnt a fan of his gyro either.. Food is a little bland but portion sizes are generous. Im not running back to this one.. but it gets the job done.

Been going here with my family for years. George and Tess are amazing people and it shows in their food and also the way their staff performs. Get the chicken fried steak breakfast, you wont be disappointed at any time of the day!

Your basic family style restaurant. Staff is friendly and food comes out quick. Dining room is clean enough but the bathrooms are pretty dirty regularly. Prices are fair. Foods not the greatest but what do you want for the money? Its good for a quick meal.

This is a family owned business that makes you feel welcome every time you walk in the door. They serve breakfast all day. Have great pork tenderloins. Homemade soups. Pies and cakes for dessert.

About a week or so ago,I left a tip & paid my bill but before I walked out I heard the lady doing the cash register say aloud to the waitress “did he tip you”!? In my book,that’s both inappropriate & bogus. I make plenty of money + I always tip. I prefer to tip in cash instead of it going onto my card. The food there is usually very good but I’m not going to shell-out good money andbe made to feel awkward. I can eat anywhere I choose but the management really needs to clean-up their act.

My family and I used to go often as well as order to go food once a week. I know that the prices go up...but today...We ordered a chic strip meal and Taco salad. I asked for dipping sauce for the strips plus extra ranch. THEY CHARGED ME AN EXYRA 5$. unbelievable. Hey you got my 5$ for some ranch dressing..but lost 4 reg. Customers .cheapskates. plus ...my taco salad..about 1/4 cup of taco meat in entire salad. One less chick. Strip then it used to be.yuck.

This was my first visit and I was pleased. They serve all day breakfast and the service was prompt and attentive. The only reason I did not rate it a 5 star is because the steak for the steak and eggs, while very good, was very thin. Also, you pay at the register not the server.

We had a variety of food from pancakes, eggs, bacon, toast, omelettes, cereal, hash browns Etc. Everything we had was very good and we didnt have to wait very long for our food.

Im glad I made the choice as the lunch special was a great price and the portions were sizable.
