This place has its own history, in 1956 Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar took Buddha Dhamma with almost 5 lac people, one Bodhi vruksha which is very old is also here. Book stall also available for books and CD. Washroom and drinking water facility available. Nice place to visit with kids, to tell history of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.
Beautiful and wonderful place,Deekshabhoomi is a sacred monument of Navayana Buddhism located at Nagpur city in Maharashtra state of India; where B. R. Ambedkar, embraced Buddhism with approximately 600,000 of his followers mainly scheduled caste peoples on Ashoka Vijaya Dashami on 14 October 1956. Ambedkar revived Buddhism in India.
One such popular and significant Buddhist monument is Deekshabhoomi. A prime attraction in the city of Nagpur... Deekshabhoomi is located at the spot where the architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, converted to Buddhism on October 14, 1956. It was a historic and auspicious day as 600,000 people followed Dr. Ambedkar in the conversion to Buddhism. The literal meaning of ‘Deekshabhoomi’ is the ground where people got ordained as Buddhists. Dr. Ambedkar said he chose Nagpur for his conversion to Buddhism as it was the land of the ‘Nag’ people who supported Buddhism in its early days.
डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर दीक्षाभूमी, नागपूरThis is 1 of the iconic places as well as religious destinations in Nagpur, where the Father of Indian constitution Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar had embraced Navayana Buddhism on this place.People of all religions visit this religious destination for tourism purpose.
The ultimate place in Nagpur for the followers of Buddhism . And one of the jewel of Nagpur! It was created for the sole purpose of Buddhism , but it became more than that. Now it is a carnival of devotees . Devotes of knowledge , devotees of peace , devotees of God and education. This place needs to be out of political terms and if well maintained this place will be heaven for travels. And I hope someday it might bring tourists from around the world here to Nagpur.
This is the place where Babasaheb given Diksha abt Boudha religion to millions of people..Nice place to visit.surroudings also gud..
The majestic deekshabhoomi is a central memorial built after the original Buddhist architecture, a replica of the famous stupa erected by the great emperor ashoka at sanchi, madhya pradesh. It is the biggest ever stupa in the Asian continent. It was inaugurated on thursday, 18th December 2001 by the then president of india K.R. Narayan.
Its a really calm place inside the dome. You wont find anybody talking. You are not allowed to touch anything. It would have been better if there would have been some details mentioned there.there were details but was not clear. Its good for people who feel things by seeing itself. I didnt find that much interesting ,but good place for having peace of mind, for that I would recommend to visit this place. This place need little revamping ,decorations outside ,proper lighting. I would suggest to visit here in the evening as its waste of time to visit during morning and afternoon.
Peaceful place where you find a beautiful silent and touching moments of air with flow when we are meet here the real thing that it is a kind of trample but it is more than Temple . Pupils come here from all over the world when Im there then I meet 3 countries peoples who is come here in search of spirituality. I am also feel better good place for visit

The visit was an inspiration for me - the shrine of one the tallest leaders our country had who piloted the constitution bill and laid the foundations for a democratic republic of India. However the place could do with better maintenance. Wonder why the government of India does not declare it as a heritage monument and upgrade it to a stature befitting one of the heroes of our nation
We reached late night around 7 and during weekend. There is usually not crowded. No photography is allowed inside main sanctum. Peace is guaranteed inside it and you can spend quality time there. Although the whole place is under renovation still it’s must visit in Nagpur. Parking is also available next to it however hoarding or direction for parking is very small and not easily noticeable from traffic
Its good place but closed due to Covid.
Worship place and very beautiful...Get a peace of mind....
Majestic Spiritual place , calm and peaceful... Giant dome structure adds beauty. At the time of festival, light effects are mesmerizing... 😇 Proper management of crowd coming from all parts of India at the time of Buddhist festivals. Need some more dustbins to keep this spiritual place clean and serene.

Infrastructure is Very Nice. Historical and Beautiful Place. Huge Parking. The Photography is Prohibited Inside the Stupa. In front of the Stupa, there is a Buddha Vihara and a Tree Called Bodhi Tree. The Bodhi Tree is related to some sort of History Like This Tree was Planted Here From the Three Branches of Bodhi Tree at Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka. There is also a College Near the Bodhi Tree called B.R. Ambedkar College.
A really peaceful, calm place. A lots of books available in the book store to get. A huge garden to relax.

This place is named Deekshabhoomi because here Dr. B R Ambedkar renounced Hinduism and accepted Buddhism. The ashes of him also lie in this place. The big dome shaped structure, inside it lie vast spacious space where you can meditate and also chronological sequences of B R Ambedkars life in picture form. Outside the monument there is a huge ancient bodhi tree and you can enter the monument without shoes (for that a paid shoe storage facility is available inside the premises). Mobile phones should be turned off when you go inside the dome.Timings are 7am to 8pm all days.

Peaceful historical place after entering one can feel the positive energy
Nagpur city provides limited sightseeing options and relatively Deekshabhumi Stupa is a decent place. Preferably visit in the evening or morning when its not too sunny. The place is spread over many acres but the main place to visit it the Stupa. You can peacefully sit inside the stupa and pray/meditate. There is a small exhibition inside the stupa which displays photographs of key events in life of Dr. Ambedkar. It close to the station and auto will charge 50-60 rs. from Sitabuldi market. There is shared auto option also available which will charge Rs. 20 per person.
(DHEEKSHABEEDAM) MY BEST PLACE
Although I visited Nagpur quite a few times I was not able to visit Dikshabhoomi despite I had the deepest urge. However, I got the chance this time to see this historical place having eminent relationship with the sculptor of Indian Constitution - Dr. Babasaheb Aambedkar. The place is well carved, aesthetically designed and most importantly is filled with positive energy. The structural design resembling Sanchi Stupa is mesmarizing. The 22 promises designed by Dr Aambedkar are carved on a larger than life marble. You enter inside the Stupa and you wont control your urge to bow in front of a great man who fought throughout his life to help the deprived. The photographic journey explaining the work, efforts, and struggle of Dr Babasaheb is excellent. Take a minute and witness the wooden replicas, they are simply beautiful. Dont forget to witness the Buddha statue which feels real and starting at the statue will make you feel Buddha is smiling at you.Ample parking space, BODHIWRUKSHA, idols of Buddha and Aambedkar outside take you to a different world.Overall, you will definitely find PEACE OF MIND at DIKSHABHOOMI.
Since it is national monument very relevant today in our country
The place has its own history and its significance.well maintained and tranquility!! The monument hosts a photo exhibition on the life of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Nice place to calm oneself by meditating, historic place, should visit atleast once.Statue of Lord Buddha is astonishing. Mind soothing. There are photos of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar on different occasions along with some related information and names of persons appeared in photo. Before entering actual monument one need to remove footwear so one can keep those footwears in storage facility provided by management for nominal fee of ₹1/- only.Garden in huge and well maintained. There is also nicely groomed a sacred fig(Bodhi Tree) tree. Also there is a rest house for Bhikkhu. Also guest house for those who want to stay a night or so. There is one Buddhist Vihara also inside premise.Public toilet facility is also there behind main Monument for those who need it.Overall nice place and should visit atleast once.
Best place for peace of mind.

Good Place to visit. Buddhist Lover.
A very peaceful and relaxing around in the hustle and bustle of city life . A proper spiritual place for meditation. Big stupa is really magnificent. Inside the stupa the atmosphere is like you are in heaven. So quite and amazing. A large parking lots and activity ground are there. A bodhi tree is beside of the temple. Spiritual lectures held there under the tree every day. A large Buddha statue is there. Dr. B r Ambedkar statue is outside the temple. And he came here to take renunciation of Buddhism. Out side the temple as usual toilets are available. Restroom facilities are available here for a bad weather. Huge parking lots. Located just beside the Dr B. R Ambedkar college. Viewed from normal traffic.
Another destination in our all India trip. Visitng here was really relaxing for me. Lot of students from an art college I guess were there and one made a sketch of me which was really funny. I will remember that moment for ever. Inside the temple is very cool and calm. Gives you a positive vibe. Walking through the whole compound was a memorable experience.
