Yashwant Stadium is one of oldest stadium in Nagpur. Where most matches was played of football. Ground has good capacity ,but now a days there very less maintenance due to COVID

The stadium is good. Talking about the outside, last time I went there, too many people were there. Restaurants selling Pav Bhaji and the famous long pani-puris are available here. Many years earlier, I went to a circus near this place, wonderful it was.

The stadium is in a worse condition. The particles of the stadium falls sometimes unknowingly hurting someone. No repairing has been for that for years. The shops purchased by different dealers outside the stadium had been given a notice period to close or shift their shops somewhere else because it came to light that the stadium is being renovated by NMC authorities and converting it into a high class sports stadium. However, the shops there are good. You can find a variety of different shops. Two wheeler showrooms. More of home & electric appliances. The two & four wheeler parking was used to be free but now its a paid parking according to the authorities. Rest is good.

Earlier, international football matches were held here but with progress of time, there are talks of destroying it and constructing Nagpur Metro from there. Yashwant Stadium is in dhantoli Nagpur. One of the oldest stadium of Maharashtra specially made for football matches. It also has running track as well. It is having capacity of around 15000 to 20000. Rarely used for national & international football matches or sports other than cricket. Need to renovate now. Maintenance seems to be lacking. With renovation & proper maintenance it still can compete with best stadiums in India & world also. Having very good parking facility.

What is absolutely striking about this stadium is the array of electronic shops all around the ground floor of the stadium. It has overshadowed the stadium itself. The surrounding area is very congested, ill maintained and the whole place needs a major overhaul. Being such a prestigious stadium it warrants better disposition.
