Hingladevi Temple Devbhoomi is located in the middle of dense oak forests on the top of the mountains in the south of Champawat district of Uttarakhand. This Devi Peeth is one of the oldest temples in the region. Goddess Hingla is worshiped as Maa Bhavani in this temple. The nature of Hingladevi Temple is extremely precious and one can visit the city of Champawat from this holy place. The temple of Hingladevi was in a small place till about one and half years ago and a bitch was also built at that place. Due to the efforts of Satish Pandey, resident of Devi Devotee Village, Pavet, a grand temple and a small dharamshala have also been constructed. It is said about the Hingladevi temple that from this place, Jhula (Hingol) used to swing till the mother Bhagwati Akhil Tarani peak, hence the place is called Hingladevi. In Hingladevis worship, animal sacrifice is prohibited. This temple remains the center of the faith of the devotees because worshiping in the temple has been fulfilled by the Goddess with the help of Riddhi-Siddhi as well as childless couples. Devotees visiting the temple believe that the treasure is hidden behind a large sheela near this temple of Mother. In this Sheela, the door is made of a figure and people believe that the key to this treasure is with the mother Hingladevi. Devotees throng to Hingladevi temple on Chaitra and Shardiya Navratri.
