Very luxurious hotel in a wonderful setting. The poolside restaurant serves fantastic good, and has a great atmosphere. The breakfast was good but the quality of the food could be improved. The room was clean and luxurious but very dated design, and some maintenance is required. WiFi connection was good, and staff were pleasant and helpful with arrangement of day-trips. The only negative is that they charge foreign bank cards in the native currency and offer a very poor conversion rate. I paid an additional 10-15% than the advertised price (even using a Monzo card).

One of the best hotels in Mysore - for more than 20 years. I have been visiting this hotel over the years and never disappointed. Excellent food - particularly lunch and breakfast buffet. The pool side restaurant is excellent for dinners.Rooms are big, spacious and nice.The pool and gym is another good attraction to stay and relax

Good hotel with awesome swimming pool. Good tasty breakfast spread. Nice ambience. Air conditioning could be slightly better in rooms. Rest all ok. Overall great value for money in midst of city but quiet and walking distance to major city hotspots.

We were given room at 5th floor. Room was neat and beautiful. Food at restaurants which we ordered in room was tasty and filling. breakfast buffet is also very rich. We had candle light dinner near pool, it was amazing. If you want cake from thier bakery, you need to tell them in advance, else you will only get pastry, no cake. They wont refill soap or other toiletries, for the next day, so we had to call them and asked. Staff was cooperative. We will look forward to stay here again or we will recommend this property for a pleasant stay in a beautiful city of Mysore.

We went as family and really enjoyed the facility. Hotel people are so kind.Facilities are Super. Room is spacious and feel at home. Swimming pool is good and clean Breakfast is so good. I would recommend to other also to stay and enjoy.

Dont opt for breakfast on rush days! *In my review, instead of providing my opinion i will just provide my observations and leave it upto you to form an opinion.Reaching the hotel- Location is great- Easily accessible by bus from the airport. Just get down at maharani college and it is 1 block from there- Hotel looks good from the outsideCheckin- Checkin went smoothly- Receptionist didnt smile even once while checking us in- Ignored some of the questions we askedRoom- They gave us a smoking room which reeks of smoke. We decided to not change as we were tired- No towels in the room- Coffee mugs were stained- TV not functional- Quite spacious- 3 pins in electrical sockets was good- Stains on the curtains and floor overall cleanliness left lot to be desired- Once we requested the towels the provided ones had stains and again cleanliness was not that good-AC worked well-Housekeeping- When we asked for extra water bottles the person promptly provided us more with a smile- When we requested for coffee sachets housekeeping again delivered with a smile* Breakfast (Rush day and non rush day, totally opposite experiences)- We stayed for 2 days, first day was part of the long weekend and was a rush day. Second day was a weekday and there were few guests. Below things apply only for the first day, second day everything was perfect and just the opposite of my observations below on day 1. On the weekday, tables were perfectly laid out, full buffet spread was available and hot, manager was super helpful welcoming and courteous. We were offered a lot of live items apart from the buffet like dosa, poori, rava idli etc. Tea on non rush day was good as well. Staff, setting and food everything was perfect in my opinion on the non rush day- Overcrowded. When we reached there was no place to sit- Most of the tables were littered with dirty plates- Buffet spread had empty containers and items that were not replenished- Half the items werent available- Spent 5 minutes finding someone who can help us identify and clean a table- Tables were cleaned superficially and we got a dingy feeling- only 3 staff members and 1 cook for feeding so many folks in an overcrowded room- provided tea was reheated one and we just left it there as it tasted pathetic-Muffins and donuts were not tasty- idli and sambhar was goodSwimming pool and garden area- Swimming pool had Clean water and looked well maintained. We didnt go swimming- Lots of plants in the garden and very big area- Felt a sense of calm in the area and my wife enjoyed the variety of plantsMy suggestion would be to book without breakfast

Really a 3.5 star property at a good location in Mysore. Staff are courteous and helpful. Lobby and Zest restaurant are well maintained. Breakfast was very good. Rooms need a facelift - better furniture, newer and better towels etc. One reason I rated it a actual three was because staff did laundry of my clothes without me requesting it and when I told them during check-in they just said sorry but still charged me for it :(

Hotel was very good ... they really took care of us specially is making baby food for us. The location is the best in mysore. 10 min max for all major tourist destintion. Only one minus point was breakfast was not managed well as things kept getting over very fast.

An upscale hotel which has moulded itself perfectly as per the requirements and liking of the visitors.Of the amenities mentioned in their website what I greatly appreciate is the Yoga classes.During my visit to Mysore for two days I stayed here. The staffs have a very welcoming, polite and ready to help nature.We were given a warm welcome at the entrance itself and taken to our rooms without much delay.The room was well furnished, spacious and well kept. The only issue I faced was of noise. There was a very poor sound insulation inside the room. Sound coming from the other rooms and lobby were audible enough to startle us. Some chargeable packaged snacks and beverages were provided inside the room for convenience.The hotel has an ayurvedic spa/massage also, called Pure Touch. I was lucky enough to spare some time and have one. I should mention about Maya, the therapist. She is an extremely polite lady who has wonderful massage skills. I had a wonderful and soothing time during the session.Inside the hotel premises theres some apparel brand stores too. Apart from what I have mentioned there are all those amenities mentioned in their website. I am unable to give a detailed view on each one of them as I had very less time to explore.I hope to stay here again when I visit Mysore.

The parking area is very large with good landscape Nd large tree..very friendly front desk and house keeping. Rooms are very spacious and very neat. .cleanly maintained toilets . No pool provision for small kids which is a negative if you whole idea is entertaining kids. breakfast lunch dinner all are delicious and excellent..

The hotel is nice. However it can be made better. There was a slight smell from the toilet drain. The service staff is very nice and friendly. The ambience is good too especially the swimming pool. The breakfast spread was very nice with a lot of variety. Overall nice hotel. Would recommend.

We stayed for 3 days in southern star. wonderful experience. The staff is very cooperative. The room was big and clean. The breakfast is also good but the service during breakfast was very slow. The restaurant is super excellent taste of food. We tried both restaurants both were equally good but bit on expensive side. Pool side dinner was key point during stay.

Good Location , ambiance is good.Food is good. Parking space is abundant.Now to my experience : The receptionist will take sweet own time to provide rooms even though we arrived at check-in time of 1pm ., had traveled from Bengaluru and was looking forward to get in the sleepsince the traffic during Saturday is horrible. Made me and parents wait for 45 minutes to get the room . Maybe if you are non-indian they provide rooms faster. The funny part is check out time is 11 am the next day , so essentially you are not allowed to stay for 24 hours , I see a consumer court litigation can be done for this non-sense rule.

The stay was good. The hotel upgraded the room. Room was comfortable. House keeping needs to be improved. The mini fridge was leaking. And the house keeping hadnt cleaned the toilet. That was the only downer. But the pool was great. Swim was very refreshing. And their restaurant had been done up very recently. It was nice & clean and the food was good. A good breakfast spread too. Well be back.

Good place to stay. Accessible to most places in Mysore. Has a clean swimming pool. Things that can be better - morning breakfast need to wait if you come after 8:30 am, swimming pool not temperature controlled, the floor we were staying was under renovation and was a disturbance during the stay

The pool is the best part of this facility. Rooms are spacious, windows are wide- with a view. Beds are very good. Housekeeping is prompt.Breakfast buffet is quite good at the Zest cafe. 24×7 open.The gym and spa is below average.Do take govt ID cards for every single guests, or face the delay.Exercise patience to go through the check-in and check out process at the reception.

Good accommodation in Mysore. The place is old but very well maintained. Rooms were nice with garden views. The multi cuisine restaurant served excellent food. I tried Italian, Asian, Indian and South Indian and all was excellent. Bar is next to the pool and had a lively atmosphere with the cricket screening going on.

Hotel southern star is a very good place for family friends groups and office gettogethers.It gives you choice of 3 restaurants and a launge in there. The ambience is soo sweet with a pool side view.Well behaved and polite staff and security. You can have different choices of tasty food both alacate and buffet. The launge bar is simple and sweet.There is a spa and saloon inside and also a travel desk that helps you with the ticket bookings and as your local guide.The rooms are well maintained and clean. An open launge is available near the pool side that gives you good feel aswell.

In all aspects the place is excellent place to stay .In Mysore the hotel is located at a very prominent location and has win -win deal every time to board.They should start try for five star rating grade!Please improvise little more the pool side restaurant menu as we r frequent travelers and dont find any new thing.Keep maintaining in same manner :)

Best Services for affordable rates. Good food and best amenities. Located at the centre of the city and is reachable to most of the places in an easy and quick manner. If you have a vehicle ready to go at your disposal then its not a problem, sometimes cabbies mistake the entrance to the hotel most of the time. Courteous staff.Take the top floor for a good view of the city and have a nice stay. The rental cost is high during dassera festival but during off seasons this is best within the class around 2000 to 2200 plus tax for a regular room.

This is a star hotel in Mysore. I had the buffet dinner with my wife. There was a good selection of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes from Chinese, Italian and Indian cuisines. The prices are on the upper side, the experience was pleasent , and the service was good. Well located and has a swimming pool that looked inviting.

The management service is very poor..but the old staff are good , they least helped us out ..regarding the issue..we had book superior large bed room we had got separate beds.. though we had done spl request before.. after entering the room looking at it we got upset the room was not even up to mark .....to solve the issues we had to follow up least 3 time...... not worth for money , to much disappointment..Swimming pool was clean few thing were good, but each thing are more expensive.

Our stay at hotel was pleasant and enjoyed very much. Though it was one night my son enjoyed the Swimming in pool. Breakfast was very good and Buffet Lunch to be improved.Rooms are quite big and cleanliness is maintained well.

5 stars are for the extremely good service of the entire staff. Went with my family👨👦👧👩👴👵. Had taken two rooms.Hotel is located in prime location. Very close to railway station, palace, zoo, main market. Have some good eating places near by too including adyar bhawan.Parking becomes a challenge as the space is limited but frequented by lots. Security though takes that headache off you.Person playing tanpura (Indian instrument) is usually at welcome gate. Hotel has decent luxurious entrance .Reservation desk did that extra effort and got us connecting rooms, which meant one room getting upgrade. Timely service of water, toiletries was welcome. Breakfast spread was decently large. Quick and smiling service. One issue was that space became cramped with many visitors. Place boasts of luxurious past. It needs bit of maintenance though such as paint is peeling in places. Nothing noticeable unless looked very closely.Recommend place to stay. Good service

When i rate it three stars out of five i would say that as a good standard hotel my expectations were high. But none to say, it was more of an OK kind of feeling rather something to remember of. Like for example the food and tea were ok, there car parking is congested and the rooms were usual. Prices seemed too high as sort of. Dont know if other hotels too had same criteria.

Amazing stay experience combined with good food and hospitality.We stayed at Hotel Southern Star, Mysore for 3 nights. Hotel has good parking facility, good reception desk. Room was spacious and clean. Food was amazing. A special mention to deserts. Very good breakfast, good options for buffet- lunch and dinner. Swimming pool is also clean with an instructor who helps kids. Yoga classes are conducted in the morning.Deducting a star since our room wasnt well lit and the names and email address had spelling mistakes on final bill. This is important because if you need to retain customers and attract them with best offers, you would need to get in touch with them.Overall, a very good experience !!

Its one of the best reasonable hotels in Mysore with a good standard. Food is always awesome even the buffets are great. Also hotel rooms are well maintained and up to the mark. You should definitely try the poolside tandoori restaurant the chefs do a good job with the menu items. It was one of our first restaurants in Mysore and has be one of our favourites through the years.All the staff members we have encountered here are really helpful too and the live music played in the lobby during most evenings is wonderful.

The location is quite central. around 800m from Mysore junction and 2.5 km from bus stand. the city bus stand is around 1.8 km. City Bus frequency is great for travelling to tourist destinations like Brindavan gardens, Chamundi hills etc. There are AC Volvo buses on a few routes which are very comfortable and economicalThe autowallas charge too much but thankfully Ola and Uber both are operating and lots of autos are available. I would suggest booking those rather than haggling with people at auto stands.Food is awesome. The dinner buffet costed 750 per person and had a huge variety of food. I havent seen such a huge spread even at Taj or Marriott. Their bakery products are exceptional. Our room had breakfast included. its again a huge spread at a nominal cost if you book a room+breakfast deal.Staff is courteous and very child friendly. We had kept our bags at concierge desk after checking out and came back after visiting a museum. My daughter was a bit cranky and hungry. The restaurant staff brought milk and bread for her without us asking anything and didnt even charge for it. We are very satisfied and would like to visit again in the future.

Its a 4 star hotel with pool and other facilities. You can find cleanliness and supportive staff to a degree. The house keeping staff is kind and language is not a barrier. But dont expect anything extra which can Wow you. A lot of basic amenities are paid. They even dont provide more than 1 ltr of water per day without paying. A lot of small details for luxury was missing. Restaurant is ok for food but service is good

It was a very good experience being here on a lovely evening. A warm welcome and your shown your room. The room was looking awesome and very clean right from the entrance to the windows, bed, table and last but not the least - bathroom.Nice ambiance outside the hotel with Swimming pool (didnt use it thou) and beautiful greenery.Breakfast was complimentary and ample amount of dishes for breakfast was available. (No non-veg only egg dishes - if your a serious non-veggie in the morning)

Hotel has couple of good amenities and maintained well. Lawns are beautiful. The pastry shop inside the hotel is an attraction for kids.Breakfast spread is quite good.Rooms are spacious and well maintained.Bathroom has essential toiletries and quite clean.Ac temperature was an issue during our stay . We put on the fan to bring the temperature down.Location is on Hunsur road close to railway station.The location is close to some restaurants / fast food joints too.The room service menu in hotel is slightly expensive though.Its a good choice for stay in Mysore with family.

This is an old hotel with irresponsive and ignorant staffs!A three bed room was booked and paid for in this hotel by a friend of mine. Upon reaching the hotel, the receptionist claimed that the room was not paid for and made me pay for it again. In the evening, when I met my friend who had booked this for me, he said that he had already paid for it at the time of booking and I was double charged. It was quite a hazzle to try to convince the untrained receptionist to revert the payment.My friend had reserved a three bed room but I was allotted a two bed room and an old extra bed without any sheets. The quality of the mattress and the sheets are not at all in par with any 4 star hotel. It was pathetic. Upon complaining, they claimed that they didnt have any extra rooms but still went ahead and charged me the triple room rate.No wifi password was provided at the time of check-in. I had to make multiple long calls to the information desk to get the same. It was frustrating.I had requested for early check-out at 5.30am. The receptionist said that they would be able to provide boxed sandwiches and muffins since we would be leaving before breakfast timings. But as expected, the staff had no idea about this at the time of check-out. We end up leaving with a banana and some fruits.When you pay 7k for a three bed room for one night, you expect a little quality in the services.Later in the lobby, I overheard a German tourist complaining to the receptionist that she found a rat. No surprises, this is an old 2 star hotel with old mattress and worthless staffs disguised as a 4 star hotel.Avoid this if possible.

Booked a room with king bed.we were told we were being upgraded to a better room. But the room had a king size bed with queen size mattress on it.Had tiny towelsVery poor and slow room service. Highly expensive too for a mid level hotelEverything was an upsell with no value for money

This is the 4th visit to Southern Star(1 including regalis ) , nothing has changed.. Wonderful hospitality, helpful and smiling staff. Only thing which I felt was, bathroom tiling needs a renovation.. Hassle free check in and check out. Good spread of breakfast.. Provided an early check-in as well, without any problem.. Nice and warm stay. You can enjoy by the pool with your family. Staff is very helpful and pleasant. They are good to talk to. Bar and restaurant services are great. Hotel authorities are very keen on the hotel sanitation and cleanliness. Rooms are tidy and spacious. Southern star has two restaurant which serve delicious cuisines. I had booked 2 rooms online. rooms were quite good. hot water available for 24hrs, staff was responsive and polite. room service is available. food quality is average but cost is too much. overall experience was nice...

Amazing restaurantWe were 5 people ,stayed for a night for 10K.Weekend getaway.Ill highly recommend this place if you want a elegant feel but do not want to pay much (like in Radisson and Mercure)

Reached the hotel at 8pm!Parking area is wast! The entrance gate was nice.BUT, the second receptionist tried to CHEAT us.The receptionist asked us about the room we needed!I told him two rooms with king size bed!While he was selecting the room, second receptionist or his head came in he selected two rooms!I really thought he was selecting nice rooms for us, but when we got into the room it wasn’t king bed and there were two single beds!Went to the same receptionist head and told him this isn’t what we booked!He LIED to us, all king size rooms are booked!I said I’m cancelling the booking then.Magically*** he found two king size rooms in the computer and gave us!This is the only negativity I faced at Southern Star!• Rooms were clean and big! (Bedsheet and pillow cover - 85% clean)• Clean toilet• YUMMY breakfast with wide range of varieties• Great LOCATION• AWESOME SWIMMING POOLI’m really happy with the hotel and service!Except the discomfort I faced during check in!Please train ur staffs to brush up their behaviour to customers!And the customers should ask the room u really booked!!!!!One star less for discomfort check-in.anyhow, thank u Hotel Southern Star- will surely stay here again in my next visit.

A good upmarket hotel in Mysore.Very courteous and well trained staff. The hotel has all the essential amenities to help you get comfortable. Its located in a very accessible part of the city.The only problem would be lack of parking spaces as when there are events organised at the convention hall at the same location, youd hardly have space to park youre vehicle.If youre ready to plan and oversee this in case of your schedule clashing with events there, its a wonderful place to stay.

A good hotel but seems to be living off its old reputation. You will find here and there old furniture. The staff, must mention Syed was extremely good. The buffet spread is decent but they need to maintain hygiene .

The hotel is OK. Not high end but still a good value for money option. The breakfast buffet had quite a lot of options to suit all tastes.The only complaint I would have was the service that was a little slow. We asked for some things in the room. The answer was ok but nothing happened until we called a second time. We asked for the baby bed in our room to be removed but it never happened and the hotel tried to charge that at the end of our stay. The staff though was very understanding and cancelled that so no problem after all. The location in Mysore is also not too bad and you can quickly reach the main tourist spots.

The breakfast and lunch buffet are good. The thin tallish gentleman hosting the buffet was wonderful. The travel desk guy will take you for a ride. Avoid him.

Rooms were clean and neat. Service was good. Breakfast buffet had good variety of food items. Especially I liked muffin, poha and vada. But I felt the prices of lunch and dinner buffet was too pricy. Overall it was a nice place to stay.

Hotel Southern Star is one of the best Luxury Hotel in MYSORE. This Hotel is very near to MYSORE Railway station. Centrally located in the city. Spacious and well maintained garden, swimming pool, bar. etc. Are situated in very calm place. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and well maintained. Varieties of food available, rates are a little bit expensive but tasty and warm service.

I was allotted a room in the smoking zone floor. The room was smelling of cigarette and I had to stay with it, eventhough I being a non smoker. I brought this to the notice of the front desk. They had to air the room properly before allotting it to anyone.

One of the best hotels. I am very particular about cleanliness. This is one of the major factor that I pitch in to whoever boons a room for me or whenever I search for a hotel to stay when I visit another city away from my home city. Southern Star was super comfy. Super clean. The bathrooms were super classy and neat. Rooms were comfortable and clean. My type of comfortable stay. Enjoyed and would chose the same when I visit again.

Good ambience nice room and food had a pleasant stay.. But the service to the room is not so good no answers properly they didnt provide what we asked for after calling to reception also waited for more than a hour still we dont get the mosquito repellent they assured of sending in 5 minutes.. So Im giving just 3* ...

Good hotel for off-season travel because prices can be attractive. Very convenient location. Good relaxation facilities like gym, spa, salon, swimming pool. The highlight of the stay is complimentary Yoga conducted by expert Stella.The pest control smell is a bit offensive and if you are unlucky, often small bits could be dysfunctional for example bathroom exhaust, mini fridge, etc. However, the staff is prompt to help.

We had the buffet breakfast, which was excellent. The staff is pleasant and courteous. The hotels location is superb as it faces Chamundi hill and is 3km from the palace.

This hotel is one of the oldest in the city. The rooms are neat and clean and the view is alright. They have a swimming pool, a gym and quite a few amenities. The service is warm and welcoming too. There is ample space allotted for parking and the location is so convenient as it is in the heart of the city. Its close to the station and to the shopping areas of Mysore. Its also really close to the zoo. However there are a few issues regarding maintenance . Our ventilator is broken , there are stains on the corridor ceiling , and only one functioning lift. I request the hotel staff to take care of those details , else the stay isnt worth the price. The price we paid is Rs. 3300 per room per night (12 pm to 12 pm the next day). Inclusive of breakfast. This is not a budget hotel. However , on the whole , you will enjoy the simple luxury of good amenities , having courteous staff and the beautiful ambiance .

Firstly, to be more accurate it is located just off Maharanis College on Hunsur Road, Jhansi laxmi Bai road crossing.Main Restaurant, Bar and Pool side restaurant - great ambiance, Excellent service and very good food - Though being South India dont expect authentic Punjabi cuisine, The Missi Roti was not what it should be. Must try the Buffet. Not very expensive. My tab for dinner for Two with Beer was less than Rs.2.5K and the excellent pool side breeze came free.

This was previously Regalis Hotel. Except the name change everything else is same. It’s in good locality and walkable to main shopping area. Hotel is maintained neat and all customer facilities such as gym, swimming pool, Spa...are there. Complimentary buffet breakfast is really good with lot of varieties. However, buffet lunch/dinner and also room service are priced high.

Very strategically located.. comfortable rooms with all expected facilities that go with a good star rated hotel property.. the staff is very accommodating.. there are 2 restaurants in the hotel n they spin up some pretty good food too.. The property is even maintained pretty well n clean. The executive rooms are spacious enough for 2 & very comfortable at it.. the pool feels great.. however, the pool closes by 7ish..

No free early check in. When I made request for the same when booking, I expected they will take care of it.. But they will charge half day price. And rooms are not luxury - spacious 3 star may be. I would say better you may check out Radisson or Palace hotel of ITC

The best of the Hotel are the YOGA Sessions every morning. Incredible Teacher so professional and spiritual. Also Swimming Pool, Food and Staff. I strong recommend the morning Yoga Sessions that are included in the hotel stay.

Rooms are good. But service is not up to the mark. In check-in desk, no one knows Kannada. In restaurant, service is very slow. Even for the cutlery, waited for a long time.

Here parking is the best. Parlour is classy. Very good service in the restaurant.

No person came to room asking the requirements .only on request hey came.Mat was not placed.dental kit was not kept.they din replaced the drinking water at room.Best part is premises kept excellant.thanks to house keeping.Staff people are polite.totally we were happy during our stay.

Over all , our stay was a wonderful experience and we are certain to opt again for stay, provided the tariff is comfortable.We are senior citizens, requiring small additional facilities, which we could get them upon request.
