Bonsai garden is a place to visit... Its in same campus with Shuka vana. The dedication of the maintaining staff is clearly visible. The care and efforts of around 30 years resulted in this garden. Superb bonsai plants. They charge about 25 Rs per person as a entry fee. But trust me its worth visiting... Liked

Nice place to relax and see interesting trees. Only 25 rupees to have a look. There are many birds on exhibition near here but I do not think it is part of this garden. It is sad to see all of the birds in small cages just for people to stare at them. I hope it is not part of this nice garden.

One of the more unique attractions of the Royal Mysore, the Bonsai Garden of Mysore is home to over a 100 different varieties of Bonsai trees spread across this vast estate. It is a part of the Avadoota Datta Peetham of the Sri Ganapathi Sachidananda Ashrama. Initially a pet project by the fascinated Swamiji, the garden now hosts 450 miniature tree across an area of 4 acres, filled with these quirky dwarf trees. The beauty of the garden is accentuated by the stream that flows within, as well as the placement of Buddha statues and monkey statues around the area, representative of the zen culture from where the art of Bonsai was evolved. There is also a deer park to cater to the nature lovers who visit.● As the name suggests it houses a large variety of bonsai trees and a fish pond. Entrance fees is 25/- per person. Takes just 15 mins to have a look. Must visit for bonsai lovers.● atmosphere is cool , lovable● The main attraction is, of course, the various bonsai trees of the garden. There are more than 100 varieties of such miniature trees at the place, all placed in an attractive manner. The Swamiji has structured the garden according to his spiritual beliefs. As such, you will find these bonsai trees to be arranged in groups, reflecting various Indian traditions.

This place along with Shukavana is a well-hidden gem. I had visited bonsai garden in lalbaugh, bangalore. Kishkindha bonsai garden beats lalbaugh bonsai garden hands down. The bonsai are arranged month and date wise with indian name and botanical name for each one along with day or plantation. It’s fun to find one planned on your birthday. It’s in the same compound as shukavana. The exotic birds are well kept and many are roaming free. They just swoop down while you are walking and some can make your day by saying hello to you. Ideal place for kids as well as elderly. The charges for each photo are little high if each family member wants individual pic. But the experience of having a mackao sit on your shoulder/ hand is worth it. The staff is okay. Despite of getting visitors from all over the world they insist on speaking in Kannada. Cameras are not allowed in shukavana. They do show a movie as well but the guy in charge insists on 5 members at least. We missed it as no one else was interested. There is a temple nearby with a big Hanuman’s statue. Visit it in the evening for a beautiful laser show.

Bonsai garden was nice, but had to pay ticket which was 25 per head and I dont mind, but there were no people in it due to not being free 🙄.Museum was closed and this is the only negative thing I saw. They have very short visiting hours for all 3 places namely birds enclosure, bonsai garden and museum. But the management is spending good for birds care and people who come to visit there.
