A staff welcomed us and took us to the first floor. There he explained about tea and the steps of making tea powder and providing us the best tea. Then we went to the factory section. There we saw the machines which cuts the tea leaves very nicely and sends it to the oxidation section which oxidises the tea leaves. Then it sends to the dryer which dries the tea powder at the temperature of 104° C. Near to the machine is the outlet where tea packets were sold. Good place to visit.
Awesome way of making the tea with all the precautions taken for covid-19 . One of the best tea factory.

No access inside of tea factory. We can only purchase from their small outlet which is situated outside of the wall
The Tea Museum established in Nallathanni tea estate of Tata Tea Ltd is an important attraction in Munnar. The transition of tea making process from the rudimentary tea roller to the modern fully automated tea factory is illustrated here. The tourists can understand the various stages in tea processing here. It has other attractions like the Pelton Wheel turbine used in the hydro power generation plant, tea roller and a rail engine wheel of the Kundala Valley Light Railway built by the British in 1902 and operated between Munnar and Topstation. Tea tasting is another attraction where one would come across different varieties of tea. Visitors have the opportunity to taste some of the most exotic varieties of tea available around the world here.
Beautiful surroundings and excellent climate

Good place to buy tea items and see tea making process
First of all, keep it classy whoever called it a cum factory in their review. Second, the most delicious tea for only 10 rps. Doesnt get much better than this. Tour was fine if an dispassionate affair.
Good time we had during the tea factory visit... They charge 100 per person for entry fee. During the tea factory visit they run a detailed documentary video for 15-20 minutes followed by a briefing session for 10 minutes and then we can see the stages of the manufacturing over the glass window... Its worth a visit and learnt some tips on drinking teas... Cheers to the tea factory....
Tea Powder outlet is nearby and price low we buy 500gm of Tea at 160₹ if you buy 3 one will get free. Factory visit not allowed entry restricted.
Very nice and informative. The tea factory visit for INR 100 is worth for the tour per head. The staff clearly explained how the tea is prepared and packed. Various types of tea and its process was information gained. The shop outside sell discounted/offers Tea products. We enjoyed the trip very well.
The museum tour starts with a photo gallery that also serves as a waiting area for the documentary screening section. The short film/documentary of 30 minutes is very informative and explains the history of munnar and tea plantation quite nicely. After the screening you can buy fresh tea, coffee and spices from the shop in the same premises. Also the view from this museum is fantastic as it is surrounded by lush green mountains from all sides and is usually covered in mist.A must visit place.
The factory have a nice museum. It have a lots of gallerys, some old electrical equipment. They explain how the tea powder is made. Inside the factory have a shop, contains chocolate, different tea powder.
