This hostel is run by a really awesome and friendly guy and the place itself is so welcoming. The property is located at a perfect spot where you can trek to close by viewpoints. The ambiance is lovely and quiet too. Also by far one of the cheapest hostels Ive been too and thats where you tend to meet the most interesting type of backpackers
I had really good time here! Was totally exhausted when I reached there but the place didnt take much time to charge me up!Loved the vibes, clean beds and again amazing host ... Vishnu is amazing he helped me out in kitchen and we made some amazing onion pakoras and mango milkshake 😋And currently you can experience some pawsome time there!! Thanks to the new member of the hostel ...Rambo!
I really like there service. The owner Tobin is very friendly and helpful person.Being solo I never find any difficulty there. All staffs are so nice and welcoming. Thanks for making my trip memorable.
It is great value for money to all solo travelers. I stayed two nights and it was really good falling under my budget. Staffs were supportive and jovial. If you have your own vehicle then its easy go and defenetely recommend others to just have a visit once . Budget friendly
The staff was really helpful. Lived staying here. Even though the hostel is small we loved the vibe here ❤️
Best value for money ! Very peaceful place and special mention for Vishnu ans his kindness
Its a wonderful experience I never experienced before . The kind of love they shown was very good.If you are a backpacker or group of friends definitely I will recommend this place . Thanq Tobin bro for your hospitality. Its not like a hostel I felt like Im in home .If you need any help they will guide us at any time . The environment near hostel was peaceful. It is also budget friendly. They didnt paid us to write a review. This review was from my heart
Staff is extremely caring and helpful. Awesome stay ! Thank you so much Vishnu !!
It’s a wonderful place I ever had been, Tobin and Vishnu are very friendly people, felt like our own home.Safe for girls and good food.Best place to stay in budget.
Great location for nature lovers 😍, situated 7km away from munnar, and 2km from main road, the owner Tobin was really nice guy, he allowed me 3 hrs before the checkin time, they serve the dinner if u order it to them for only 50rs, the owner even pick up and drops from the main road to hostel if u request.
Loved this beautiful hostel..perfect place to chill in entire munnar! Tobin, the host is really friendly and helpful. He became our friend in such a short time. He showed us amazing places and guided us through the trek. Vishnu, another host showed us the perfect spots for shopping. Really loved the homely vibes of the hostel too. Would love to come again soon.Thank you tobin and vishnu for your lovely hospitality and services.
The hostel is perfect for those who wants calm and peaceful environment as it is located in the lab of nature along with these two amazing people Tobin and Vishnu bhaiya who takes care of these beautiful place and will definitely take care of you with their warm and generous nature. I had the most amazing experience in these 3 days. I will always remember how Vishnu bhaiya woke up at the middle of the night and made ginger tea for me as i was having really bad stomach ache and made sure i was ok afterward which made me feel right at home. Will definitely come back again. Also they have a really cute cat who will come to check on you once in a while.
Amazing. For the location and for the guy running it. It may seem intimidating while coming but dont worry call him he will take care of everything. From parking to breakfast lunch everything.Make sure speak to him in hindi.
Staff is really helpful, peaceful place one should visit you will feel like home.
Just getting back from this place. Highly satisfied with the service. The wifi is good, the staffs both of them were really helpfull. Most importantly for a place with such low rates they provide very clean and neat facilities.Overall the place really felt like home.

The BEST hostel experience I’ve ever had. Truly. The two hosts - Tobin and Vishnu - do an incredible job of taking care of you the moment you step foot into Munar. Couldn’t be more thankful for their hospitality. The vibe created by the hostel allows you to socialize super easily with other guests. Quick aside: even though I only knew these two guys for three days, they brought me a birthday cake and surprised me as it was my birthday one of the days during my stay! I was almost brought to tears.
Tobin was an awesome host. He communicated directions for our arrival from the main town by bus (6 rupee) and picked us up from the main road in his rickshaw, even rescued us at night when we got lost trying to walk back to the hostel! Organising a hiking tour was easy through the hostel, breakfast was provided and delicious. The location is about 20 minutes on a rickshaw out of the main town but most of the attractions aren’t in the main town (you will have to get the bus or rickshaw around) anyway so location is more than fine! All in all we had a fantastic stay here and the share hostel is the best value for money we have experienced in India yet! Thanks guys
It worth for money!Great hostipalityNice spot 💕Loved the day spent there 💕
I felt this place awesome because of the people who run this place. They are so friendly and proactive in doing things.I would love to stay in this place again.Thank you Toby and Vishnu for your wonderful service.
**New owners Nov 2019** Share is my favorite hostel ever! Its located in the tea plantations a short bus ride away from Munnar proper. Its surrounded by nature and has a beautiful outdoor garden, complete with hammocks. What really makes the hostel special is the atmosphere. The new owner, Tobin, and the staff are so genuinely welcoming and friendly it feels like a home. Vishnu is an incredible chef and prepares breakfast and dinners for less than $1 a meal. They really went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and help me out--when I had to leave, they made me a complimentary lunch and gave me a ride to the bus stand. Seriously, this place is amazing!
Really recommend this place to visit munnar. Nice location and garden. The owners are the best, helped with everything and organized everything. They even took the whole hostel on a daytrip. Felt like a big family, breakfast and dinner was delicious.
I really loved loved the place. It was like a family for 4 days. I would have stayed longer. They really make you feel like home. Also It was was super cheap. We ate delicious Food every night for just 50 rupies. I would deffinitely recommend this place to anyone!
What a fantastic find! If you are after tranquility and peace but with proper hostel vibe, a laid back atmosphere and great people, this is your place. SHARE s an intimate hostel with only 14 beds in a quiet location with pretty views (a few steps from a tea plantation, in the mountains, away from the noise of unattractive town of Munnar) and some of the best hostel staff I met in a long time. Tobin and Vishnu run this place like a hostel should be run: they are ultra helpful, generous and welcoming, ready to share stories and tips about India plus any local guidance you might want (bus timings, guided walks etc). Also, both breakfast (included in price which adds to already fantastic value for money) and dinner (upon request, truly homemade and delicious) are tasty and prepared on site. They have been currently looking for volunteers so if you have some time to spare, its a great place to do some work exchange.Highly recommended and I hope they keep up the good work as they have already laid solid foundations for making it THE best choice for backpackers in Munnar.
Everything was perfect! The owner and the personal are really nice !!Is really cheap and good located, lost in the jungle!Thank you to Tobin ! ❤️
Shire Hostel is an amazing place to stay for little money. Great location, good breakfast, tours that can be organized and most of all an amazing vibe. Leon (who runs the hostel) is a joyfull, warm hearted lovely person. Youll have a chilled & amazing time here for sure! Hope to come back here sometime!
Place was good nice ... Service good
Perfect for Backpackers... Little inside from Main Road.. should have own vehicle to communicate
One of the place to stay in Munnar if you have that wandering thing in you. Its cheap and you will definitely be making a lots of memories back home. I recommend it.
Amazing Hostel with super friendly and helpful staff!Had a lot of good tipps for activities and became friends :)
Best place to stay for students. Away from the noise in between nature. Very economical.
Good
This hostel needs to be shut down.Short version: Super unprofessional staff, no security, staff made unwanted advances on my roommate (the day before Id arrived) and had to be pushed out of the room by her, Very rude to me.The long version:When I reached, they gave me a room I had NOT booked sharing with the brother of the owner apparently, who was clearly hungover. When I asked him stuff, he didnt know anything because he doesnt stay there right, its his brothers property. They didnt take my id or make me sign anything because Im Indian (fun fact: they didnt even check any foreigners passport so what the hell).I insisted on taking another room, but they told me the guest staying there has locked it and has gone out and they have no idea when will she come back. So I had to leave my stuff somewhere else till she arrived (no lockers btw). The kitchen was very dirty too. Beds, mattresses, pillows, blankets - very icky and not comfortable at all.The staff was acting strange in the name of being funny, making me very uncomfortable. In the evening, ALL staff members were on the roof smoking & drinking. I asked them for help later to get a vehicle for sightseeing the next day. They gave me vague answers and said the driver will come in some time & I can finalize the time and price then. HE NEVER CAME, so I made other plans. The next morning at 7am though, a random man barges open the door of my room without permission, and tells me to go with him. I told him we never decided on anything & Im not going anywhere. When I woke up, the staff had the audacity to talk to me as if I was the one who did something wrong. When I said I had no information about it, they just kept blaming each other in front of me. THEY HAVE ZERO PROFESSIONALISM - something I told them about as well. They have to realize that this is not how a hostel functions because this is literally the worst place I have EVER stayed at. OH ALSO, A STAFF asked my English roommate if he could sleep with her and he had to be forced out by her! IMAGINE!DONT STAY HERE!
The place is surround by greenery and a very calm ambience. Tobin, the new owner is very friendly and helpful.
Had such a nice stay at Share hostel, the owners are lovely and willing to go that extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. Would reccomend staying here as a solo traveller or group.
Best hostel in munnar hands down. Free breakfast included with the stay. Amazing staff and wonderful atmosphere. Definitely recommend a stay at this hostel
Its a great hostel but getting here might be a bit tricky. Apart from this one thing I didnt find any issues with the stay. One has to keep in mind that this is a backpackers hostel and not a regular stay so keeping that into consideration everything was perfect.
Great ambiance, fantastic people and great management. Good breakfast too. Should definitely consider if you want a fun trip
Nice place and atmosphere, lovely staff! But no organisation at all. Can be problematic for travellers. But I would highly recommend
Its a place where u get good positive vibes.chill place to stay.
This pretty place is amidst the tree plantation which makes it a wow place altogether. I had booked 2 nights here. On getting down at Meencut, there were no cabs or tuk tuks available. The manager Tobin himself picked me up. Then I was served with oh so delicious tea and a bread omelette. Then he ordered a fried rice for me and I was charged for the rice only. After some time there arrived a group of stag 5-7 boysboys. I being the only female occupant, got scared a bit.On talking about my concern with Tobin he helped me in booking the Electric cats hostel which is in a town called Anachal with good locality around. He also made arrangements for dropping me to the hostel for free in his friend Vishnus tuk tuk.God I must say when the tuk tuk arrived at the electric cats hostel I heived a sigh of relief.I would like to extend a big thank to Tobin an Vishnu for making me believe that humanity and good people still do exist in this cruel cruel world.I would highly recommend The share hostel for group travellers. The host is just awesome. I will come back with my group in near future.
Good place. Rami is a great host and keen to accommodate and help everyone. Good atmosphere with average facilities
Really good, awesome service
A nice place with good facilities for cheap rate for single and group travellers with recreation and sightseeing. Staff in the place are helpful and I had a great time there, except the issue of food
Really nice place with helpful people, they organised a beautiful trekking for us. I strongly recommend !
Excellent staff, cheap rates and breathtaking location. Exactly what you need in Munnar.
Hostel was overbooked .. so we were shifted to another nearby property.. hostel is a bit small, crammed inside.. but seems decent considering the price
Its a nice cozy place with a good environment and it is very colorful spot . Thanks to Leo.☺We loved it! 👍👍👍
Beat option for budget accommodation. Rates are starting from 275 per person.
Good place to stay and chill vibes and also an great host .easy to go near places in kochi
Amazing place, amazing staff. Probably the best backpacker hostel in Munnar :)
I stayed at Shire hostel recently, and found it to be, hands down the best budget accommodation in Munnar. Cheap rates, free breakfast, good people and great vibes.
Amazing located and lovely homely, on of the best hostels ive ever stayed inThanks to rami, hes super caring and is doing everything for his guests
I had read about how disorganised this hostel is, but nothing could have prepared me for how bad it is. This is by far my worst hostel experience in 23 years of backpacking. There are kittens coming in and out of the rooms, jumping up on the beds and rubbing on the pillows. A nightmare scenario if you are allergic to cats, and the doors dont close properly unless you bolt them so you cant keep them out.The staff are only interested in partying all night and aggressively hitting on the female travellers, despite being told repeatedly to back off and give some space. The partying is mostly just the staff and their mates who all crash at the hostel, the guests all have early morning tours and buses to catch and are trying to get some sleep. Despite requests from guests to keep it down, the partying goes on in the common room right outside everyones doors until 3am.Breakfast is supposed to be from 8am, but there are no staff anywhere to be found at that time because they were partying until 3am and are all asleep.Tuktuks ordered for the morning dont show up, and since there are no staff around, we had to have an Indian tourist staying there help us call one. We very nearly missed our tour as a result. On my second night I was locked in my room by a bolt on the outside of the door. I woke in the night needing to pee and had the indignity of having to go in bottle, as I didnt want to wake the other guests by banging on the door.In the morning I did have to bang on the door repeatedly until another guest let me out, and then we found that neither of us could go to the toilet as you had to go through someone elses room to get there, and that was locked as well. We called the hostel telephone number and heard it ringing somewhere, but it just got switched off. So we had to bang repeatedly on that door to wake another guest up to let us in.Locking guests in rooms like prisoners so they cannot leave, or even go to the toilet, is a criminal act as far as Im concerned. These people are not fit be running a hostel.
Beautiful setting, amazing staff, low price. Best hostel in India.
Best place to stay in Munnar with so much freedom and comfort you get in there! Ramee and Jamshad are the best hosts Ive seen ever!
Do not waste your time with this place. We arrived and there were no staff members there, some guests told us there were no beds available. Apparently this happens all the time, they just book beds that they dont have. We were told that other guests had been made to share double beds with strangers, and still had to pay full price! The phone number they gave us was fake, we waited three hours and no one came. The hostel itself was filthy, rotten food in the kitchen, cups everywhere etc...there were also two kittens and a puppy there that the guests were having to feed as the owners didnt. We cancelled our booking and booked a tuk-tuk driver who agreed to take us to another homestay. This homestay is clearly working alongside shire hostel and obviously takes all the over bookings, although the place we stayed was nice she tried to charge per bed instead of room etc and overall we were left feeling a little cheated. We wasted a whole afternoon in Munnar due to shire hostel! And we were definitely not the only ones this has happened to. Save your time and money.
A very pretty hostel! Nice people!
Super friendly staff but small room to stay - but the pros covers cons :)But the location is a little bit bad.(from downtown to here 250 ruppies by auto rickshaws / 10-20 mins)
