We can buy many different varieties of tea from here. Not just tea there are also coffee,iced tea flavors,homemade chocolates,honey and spices for buying. There are offers for certain types like ripple tea(buy 2 get 1 free).Also you can pay 125 rs as entry fee and see a demonstration of how fresh tea leaves are processed and grinded to fine powders and classified as light,medium and strong tea,history of tea plantations old type writing machines etc.The location is so beautiful that on a fine cool evening we can even see the mist on top of the mountains.

First, they will show how they started, where they are now and how tea was prepared via one documentary session then we will happen to see the same in live. Also, they have small outlet where you can buy freshly prepared tea packets. They have large varieties of tea. You will get to gain some knowledge about tea making process when you come out!!

The tea museum was decent. Seems like it is more touristy than the Tata tea museum. They have some outlet attached where you can buy yes from. I found the teas very expensive. The guided tour was ok. The surroundings and the tea plantations looked beautiful.

It is one of the best spot to visit in Munnar. The ticket rate is Rs.125 per head. First they will show us a small documentary session about how they started and what all things affected them and where they are now. Then they will explain and show us the making process of tea, starting from the tea leaves to the tea which we buy from shops. Tea also have different varieties. We can also buy tea packets from their outlet with a discount. Different varieties of tea are available there. Different variety of chocolates are also available with rare choices in flavour. We bought chilly chocolates and it was really nice.

Entry fee is Rs.125 per person , which is a bit expensive when compared to what they offer. 125 rupees just for showing a documentary of around 30 minutes and a guided tour to mini tea factory. In the mini tea factory, smaller machines are set up which they will operate and explains the process of tea making. If you are keenly interested to know the history of tea making , you can pay for the ticket and visit the place. Else I would suggest you to avoid the place.

There is a video show about the history of Munnar, worth watching, but the audio quality was very poor (may be because of the fan operating in that hall). Then there was someone did a demo of the old tea factory - also not worth spending time, as the explanations were less than adequate. Looks like they were trying to market their green tea and related products more.They have a stall to buy their tea products, ample car parking and toilets (not so clean, I must say) as well.

Not much for sight seeing, journey fromMunnar town to tea museum is quite good. One experienced person explains about history of tea and all, that’s interesting to an extent. But the quality of ripples tea is too good, I personally purchased Tea Packets and Coffee Packets, taste is quite good for its price.

Museum give a fair idea about how the tea plantation was made and equipments used at that time and how its done at present day. There is a documentary (½hr) depicts the more details. Different tea flavours are available here...

You can buy tea products from the shop inside which also houses a small snacks bar where you can enjoy different varieties of tea like white and green tea. If you dont visit this place in Munnar, you really miss an important place of interest.

Tea Museum, previously known as Tata Tea Museum.Your visit to Munnar hill station will not complete without spending some time in the Tea Museum, exploring the history of the Tea plantations.They give demo in which they showed how the whole tea production process works.Even though its called a museum, they actually have a working miniature factory there, where they use raw tea leaves freshly picked from the tea gardens, send through the entire production process and pack into different bags according to the grading.They have a pretty big sales outlet where they sell all Tata beverages and Kanan Devan products. You need to pay Rs 125 per person for admission to the museum.

Totally useless to send 140 rupees per person. Definitely dont go. Random stuff not even related to tea has been placed in the museum. It is literally made of just four rooms with some used stuff. Not recommended at all.

This is a museum situated around 2 Kms away fron main city centre. This is supposed to be a Tea museum but its nothing that sortFirstly only a few things are there about tea which are just facts available on google too. No old machinery is there except one or two.The local guide sir explains you about the right proportions of drinking green tea. Theres also a documentary of about 28 minutes on which i didnt spend time as it was totally not useful.Inside theres more focus on selling the tea and bi products rather than having actual museum. Also unnecessary things are there which are not at all relatable to tea and tea museum.Place is not worth for 125₹ at all . State government needs to reduce the fees for sure.

Its a museum, not a Tea Estate as the name suggests. Please go expecting as much. Includes a 30 min video on history of the hills, some artifacts and then a live tea making process from the plants to the end products. Do buy as much stuff as you want from the shop post the visit. The prices are pretty reasonable compared to the main market and products are genuine.

Very good place. The guide is very informative and intelligent. This is one of the oldest tea plantation company in India and the largest. One point to prefer this over other tea factories is that they show a 30 minutes long film on history of tea plantation in India. The film is very good with good direction and is full of information. You will surely change your views about tea after visiting the museum. After the film you will be demonstrated the complete process of tea making and you will end up in the factory outlet. They sell at great discounts and offers so one can prefer this over local market.

There is a tea museum here, a documentary show and a tea processing unit. There was unfortunately nobody to explain what was happening in the processing unit.There is also a shop where you can purchase varieties of tea, chocolates and jams.Place is not worth ₹ 125 per head.

Very good place to know the history of Munnar

I personally feel its a boring place. You would see the old photos of tea manufacturing. And you would see the machinary which was used in the olden days for tea powder manufacturing. They would show you a short documentary on how the tea plantation was started in Kerala. They would also show you the real time manufacturing of tea powder. They would sell different tea powders.

I like the concept but there is no one to guide you. I have Googled the services they offered then I have seen everything or I might miss one or two attractions which they were offering.We were 4 people group still we waited for half an hour for the tea testing. No guide was available for tea plantation tour again we waited for 45 mins.For 4 hours activity, we completed in four and a half hours.However, I like the tea testing session and benefits of tea session.

Lots and lots of tea . You have a guided tour through the factory and can see how the manufacturing is done. They even sell different flavours of tea if you want to buy.The rain and a cup of nice hot tea was definitely a highlight of Munnar for me.

A guided tour is a must to get the best from this visit. We had an hour walk around the plantation, spotting wildlife as we went, also worth the time is the tea tasting, we learned so much about different types of tea, and how it should be made, with a final stop in the small shop to purchase a fantastic selection off teas. The factory tour was also very interesting.

• Complete waste of money.• I suggest you guys to go anywhere else but not this tea museum.• They dont even look at domestic tourist and behave very rude. Specially the guy near tea making process.• They only target foreign tourist. May be because of white skin or may be they get commission from them.• Its also expensive compared to other places.

A heritage place. They have preserved many historic things about Munnar and its Tea production. Ticket is 125 Rs. They show a documentary which seems quite lengthy. Lot of artifacts and old machines are present. Once the documentary is over there is visit to tea processing factory. Entertaining and informative process.Also they have separate session about how one should drink tea. Surprisingly theyre telling people hazardous effects of tea on human body. We have to pay INR 125 for enter this museum. I love this museum because they have so many old stuff/equipment. But honestly, some of theme not really related with tea. I am not sure about this.In the end, I enjoyed visited this museum with my whole friends.

History of tea is good. Live tea production can be seen. But it doesnt seem to be a modern process. You can buy all varieties of tea by Kannan Devan.

The video all about tea production is really interesting as is the small tea garden you can walk around. The factory shows exactly how tea is made, however the talk upstairs wasnt very clear to hear and seemed to be catered more for locals. When we went there wasnt anyone picking tea but not sure if that was just unlucky. A little frustrated that when we tried to book the tea tasting at the gate we were told it wasnt in but later saw it being run. Worth a visit but you wont be there long.

A small documentary in projector is shown first. Next is the demo of the factory. A person tells everything about tea, from how to plant to how is the plantations done, different tea and right way to prepare tea. Then you can buy different tea and have it there as well. Worth the 150 Rs we spend there. 1.5 hours can be spent easily.

It was good experience. Staff was nice and we came to know how tea production works. We tried ripple tea taste was good. We bought around 8 types of different tea. As there was offer to buy 3 get 1 free. So 2 out of 8 tea products were free. It is worth to buy there to give it a try for once. Thanks

Incredible experience to walk through a live tea factory being shown every single step from leaf to brew. The workers provide you samples at each stage to compare the process from the last step. I would definitely reccommend this experience. There is a large tea shop at the end of the museum which is quite touristy. The tea available there can be bought at normal shops in the area so be careful of costs.

An ok place to visit..more of a mini factory and sales outlet than a museum, though. You can see how the tea leaves are processed into dust..also choose from a variety of tea products on display. The museum also includes a short video presentation in addition to display of some antique factors and office equipments.

The property is very well built and the rooms are quite spacious with a beautiful balcony. The staff is also very polite and happy to help. The only downside i feel is that it is not exactly in the main market area and the restaurant have very few veg options. If you have a vehical with you than its more than value for money because there is a restaurant around 600m from hotel named Sangeetha and serves very tasty veg food. Highly recommended

They screen a movie of 25 minutes length explaining the history of tea industry in Kerala. You can purchase tea and coffee from the store located within. Beautiful demonstration of entire process of tea making. It is also home to a museum which displays old typewriter, calculator, phones and other gadgets of yesteryear! Tea garden outside can be a place where you can have your selfie time!

The museum is located at the Nallathanni Estate of Tata Tea in Munnar and it is awesome visit. It is situated in Idukki district. It is established in 1st April 2005. It is 4km from munnar town. The museum is open from 9 am to 4 pm. It is closed Monday and holidays

Tata Tea Museum, also known as KDHP Museum, is located at 2 km from the centre of Munnar. It is a part of the Nallathanni Estate of Tata Tea. This museum stands as a tribute to all the pioneers of tea plantations of Munnar. Tourists visiting here get to know about the establishment and progress of the tea plantation industry in India. You can gain insights about the processing of tea leaves and the marketing of the finished product. They also have an orthodox tea manufacturing unit and a mini CTC to demonstrate differential stages of tea processing. At the entrance of the Tata Tea Museum, there’s a grand 1913 made granite sundial. In the end, do not forget to visit the demonstration room of this Tata Tea Museum. Here, you will get to taste various different types and flavours of tea. This demonstration is scheduled twice daily in the morning at 10:30 am and in the afternoon at 02:30 pm.

The museum opens at 10 AM till 5 PM. The entry ticket is INR 125 and we can get a very good understanding of tea making process over here. You have a documentary shown after your entry, and the documentary shown is worth. Don’t miss the documentary show. After that there are old things showcase is available to see and take the photos. Also they give information about tea making and all. They will guide you with the benefits of green tea. Its a learning experience for sure that you learn about the tea making process and how to make better tea at home but at the same time. But the way the person was explained, is not at all good and he is not much professional. Need to improve lot more. Various types of tea is available for purchase in the out let. No free tea tasting after the visit.

The Museum is closed at the moment. The employees of the museum said it is likely to be opened only on the 16th of November.

Dont go to this tea museum. It is not a original factory, its a demo factory. There is not such thing to see so.
