Nice ambience and service. Dosa was the same as you will find in India. Papad felt a bit old and malabar parantha not upto the mark. Rasam is chargeable which is a bit funny because rasam is usually free of cost. But understandably thats the restaurants own decision. Overall a nice experience. Would recommend to friends and also visit again
Food was okay, decent to satisfy a dosa craving. The masala couldβve been more spicy. They served dosa only with Sambhar and no chutney, I ended up dipping the dosa with chutneys left over from the starter. That was a bummer. The veg tandoori looked excellent, would try next time if I visit again. The service was fine, only some staff members were polite. I wouldnβt call it βauthenticβ, nevertheless happy to find dosas in Munich :)
Sitting here, first waited for waiter to come and take our order for 30 Mins and then waiting for food since 1.30 hours, extremely rude staff- Manager kept all the plates on one corner of the table and left, rather served it to other white ppl. He was serving all the people and not us- maybe because we are Indians. Even used cutlery was kept on other empty table by us not them. This is pure insult. I wish I could give -5 review. This restaurant needs to learn basis mannerism.
- Staff behavior towards customer was too bad. Very worst service.- Taste of the food was totally not good. Itβs not a typical South Indian food.- Ordered 3 different dishes and none of them were good.- No salt in the food- Sambar was too bad (just like flavored water)- Dosa batter was already spoiled- Not a good restaurant for Indians
The ambience is nice but the service reeks of a typical Indian restaurant. The waiters favour (read swoon) some over other. You get the idea. And the dosa is very bad. The crepe is not crispy and the potato fillings are oily and bland. So, basically that defeats the purpose of visiting Kerala. Also, they serve the dosa without onion chutney or other chutneys. As, you can see I have to dip in the complementary chutneys of papad to go through the dosa ordeal.
Food was good but waiterβs attitudes and behavior was very rude and they were super non responsive towards us (may be cause we were brown just like them, as all the white people on the other tables were well served and greeted properly)Our food arrived very late, no cutlery we had to beg for it. They were so rude when ordering not helping at all, did not pack our food and what not!I really wish they improve their service as i like the food just super scared tp go again because of the service provided.
Beautiful cozy restaurant,I really recommend dosa here which has so authentic taste and yummy.Excellent service .
Ambience is nice, food is nice. Will happily go again for South Indian food.
The soup ordered arrived after 30-35 mins of ordering and was way too salty. Didnt want to get it replaced as we wanted to have our main course. Malabar paratha was too thick (in the menu it was mentioned thin, whole wheat) Staff not very friendly so sadly, with us it was not the best of experience. Dosa was good, sambhar wasnt !
Terrible. Absolutely terrible service. It is unbelievable how bad they are. We had to wait for over an hour for our starter to arrive. Then they messed up the order and gave us a dish twice. When we told them that is not been the case the waiter started to argue. The waiter who is a bit old in age is arrogant and simply put, rude. This is really a shame as the food is actually alright. I really hope the owners read this and take some action.
Not worth visiting. The staff is rude and dont attend to customers properly. The food is chewy and it a total waste of money. I do not recommend anyone to visit this place. Worst restaurant experience ever.
One of the best Indian restaurant I have come across in Munich and the staff is very helpful and kind the food served was very delicious and the taste was fantastic service was super quick really appreciated guys ππ.....typical South Indian restaurant..!! Keep up the good service ..!!
Decent food, nice staff behavior... but this is just another Indian restaurant, dont expect any Kerala special food
Very slow and rude service. But the taste of fish dish is average authentic indian taste, and therefore Im giving at least one Star.I wouldnt recommend the place.
I used to like this place. But now it is a disappointment. Curries were too sweet, chicken hard and chewy. Changing rating from 4 to 2.
Delicious food and nice staff, owner
Place: 5Ambiance: 5Staff: 5Food: 4 (I ordered masala dosa, dosa itself was good ! Sambhar was ok and coconut chutney was ok too I guess this is the best one can get in Germany so they loose one star here)Overall: 5Price: 3 some items are slightly over pricedBut nevertheless I can surely recommend this place
This is not an authentic Indian restaurant. This is European indian restaurant and was confirmed by waiter. Name is Kerala but they have only 2 dosa type and that not authentic or Kerala taste. Very disappointing if you expect authentic south Indian food. 3 star for good service and decent EUROPEAN indian food. They do not server authentic south Indian food as the name Kerala refers.
1. Waiter forgets order2. Please do not add broccoli in masala dosa3. Papad and chutney is pretty good
Waiter forgot my order, when asked for chutney, he said it is being made as if it was only made in such small quantity. The kerela special dosa was bad, really nowhere near to actual dosa. And why was broccoli in the dosa???
Bad south India food. Masala of dosa was sore(maybe old and its summer). Not tasty at all. Unhappy
Pathetic, atrocious and rude service!!! Men here do not understand what hospitality means. They dont listen to your instructions They mess it up and put the blame on you. How sweet!!! I am writing this review sitting at the restaurant. Totally disappointing. Guys avoid this place if you have any intention of enjoying your meal.
I am an indian and I was craving for some Masala dosa since it has been over 3 months since I last had some. I located this restaurant and ordered one. The dosa was good. The masala also was very tasty. The sambhar had some real good vegetables but was average in taste. The red chutney was very tasty too. Ambiance was ok. Price was 7.6 euro which I think is overpriced as per the size of the dosa. Nevertheless I had my taste buds recharged.
Great South Indian Food.. value for the money!Great Chef π¨βπ³
Nice place for good south Indian food. The Dosas were good, the filling was a little bland as per Indian tongue levels... Sambhar was really good... The service was pretty fast and friendly. Mango Lassi as amazing too...But was too less and yes the green chutney out of the three their is pretty hot!
Great staff ...excellent food ...attentive staff ...quick service with some really good authentic South Indian food nd north too my fav Indian restaurant...!!
They dont treat indians properly the service is worst
Very limited Dosa options for a south-Indian restaurant. Staff is not the friendliest. Restaurant ambience is good though.
Mediocre food which doesnt taste good at all. It is not kerala style and not even south indian in that sense. It would be awesome if the chef could look up the recipe of sambar and chutney before you cook the tasteless liquid being sent to customers.
Food was average .. masala dosa is good.. but vadas are heavy and dense.. no flavour of Kerala or south india.. taste could be improved.. we also ordered tandoori roti which was quite thick along with a spl. Aubergine side dish which was tasty.. if taste inproves this place would match its very good interiors n kind staff...
If you want a good dosa in munich this is the placeI can choose any time this restaurant in munich over other indian restaurants.Service and staff is also good, on the lunch hours menu has less price. If you want to try south indian food this is the place
This place is good to satiate ones craving for South Indian food. But one should not have high expectations of taste.Service was good. We went on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was full but we didnt observe any delays in orders. The servers were attentive.I personally loved the ambience. Particularly, Natraj idol is alluring. Now, talking about the most important things i.e. food. We ordered snacks. Uthappa and Idli were good. However, Masala Dosa and Medu Wada were just average. The taste can be improved to a great extent. Sambar snd chutneys were good.
Waiter forgot order and the dosa was very bad.
Beware!! This is not a kerala restaurant...You will not find kerala food here. I bought fish curry meal. I got basmati rice and fish in butter chicken gravy. Utter flop!!!!. This is something which is set up for bluffing German customers.Keralites.... Never go there...
Worst service.. Waited forever to even get the menu. Understaffed and not so friendly.
Authentic taste. Must try in Munich for south indian dishes.
My wife and I recently ate here and we were pleased with our experience. The interior is decent and colorful, with very comfortable seating. The waiters were attentive and very friendly. We ordered several appetizers, (all delicious) 2 entrees, and garlic naan. My wife also ordered a mango lassi, which he said was one of the best hes had. All of our food was very, very tasty and reasonably priced. The Kerela restaurant will now be our go- to place for Indian cuisine. The food is extremely flavorful, cooked to perfection, and the side dishes will make your mouth water especially the keema dosai...
My friends and I went to this restaurant in September and our experience was bad. The food was good, no doubt about that but the staff is extremely unprofessional, unreasonable and rude. I will skip telling the story. But one thing is for sure, that all the reviews about the staff being rude is absolutely true!
I thought a lot about the rating I want to give this restaurant.I remember how delighted I was to have finally found a place which serves Dosa!! π Iβve been here 3 times now and have ordered masala dosa on all 3 occasions (surprise, surprise π) Itβs good, no doubt. But expensive! You are essentially paying 11β¬ for a snack! Also, my sister was very disappointed with the kerala special dosa. I also remember how annoyed she was because she felt uncomfortably full after dinner (hilarious), both of us actually which is weird because we only had one dosa each..
The food is very tasty.
Having dosa in the menu isnt sufficient to claim South Indian cuisine, especially Kerala food! Hyderabadi style briyani was a total fake... Kerala/ malabar fish was of readymade food quality... Unfortunately Munich has nothing better to offer, in general, when it comes to South Indian food. Please look elsewhere!
One of the good South Indian restaurant. Dosa are the best.I recommend thadka in chutney.
Dosa is a must try here and there staff were really good.
Attitude of the staff was pathetic, while reporting a small issue about the food. I was a big fan of their dosas and recommended my friends, but after this kind of behavior, never ever again ππ»
The food was not authentic and underwhelming. It was my friendβs birthday and this restaurant visit was our least interesting activity. They certainly have branded themselves wrongly there was no feels of kerela on this kerela restaurant
Very nice food in south indies
Orederd fish curry, very disappointed Not authentic kerala dishes π. Never try here for authentic South Indian dishes
The restaurant seemed improved since our last visit, and we had a great evening there. I was very impressed with their patience and tolerance for the young kids in our party, and others from other tables. Not only is the food good, the service is excellent and friendly.
Nothing to do with kerala food, not even one authentic kerala dish on the menu. The food isnt that great. Worst service and impartial to indians in specific.
Best things to try- Masala dosa (mild spicy), mallu parotha with katahal tikka (bit more spicy)..Never try nonveg there..the worst as I saw ppl who wanted to have nonveg and had anger in return π
Is this really a kerala restaurant.I was there with my friends. I was really disappointed with the food. Didnt even meet upto 1 percent of my expectations. Above all the attitude of some staffs were pathetic. Try to behave and treat customers properly.
Nice and bright ambience. Very tasty cousins. Some more attention from the stuff would be also nice: weve got only one plate of rice for 5 persons and it took a while till we got a possibility to attract an attention of the stuff. Also would like to be able to pay using credit card (e.g. MasterCard) as the stickers are well visible at the entrance.
Always happy here! Best Indian restaurant in Munich. They have authentic and real Indian taste. This is the best place to go. I am a fan and always a client there. I bring literally everyone I know at this place. Best restaurant ever.
Authentic south indian taste. The staff is really friendly as well. Ill definitely recommend others to try it.
Lets start this way , flying away from home missing starving food. The Kerala restaurant in Munich is the perfect in terms of tasty food , loving people, pleasant atmosphere, great location , value for money. Highly recommend*****.
First point : This is not Kerala restaurant, its an indian restaurant with a North indian touch. Many items in the menu are not Kerala food, only in the name it is mentioned as Kerala. They should really think about changing the name as indian restaurant because its not fare.Food : Taste is good.price: little above averagestaff : Nice, friendlyAmbiance: Good3 star is because of the misleading name. Being a Kerala guy, i would definitely wont call this a Kerala restaurant.
Basically it is not Kerala restaurant, Simply used Keralaβs Name .We have not seen any kerala staffβs and dishes in restaurant other than menu.request to owner to rename your restaurant and replace βkeralaβ with βIndiaβ.because of above reasoning i am giving low rating.Positive: Very good place and spacious restaurant, staffs behaviour is super.
Had dosa and tea. It was good.
This is perhaps the only Indian restaurant where you could satisfy the craving for South Indian food on any day. The food is not bad. Funny thing is its apparently run by Bengali people. The ambience is spacious, but feels a bit too dark. The staff is sometimes really nice, sometimes not so good. Parking could be nightmare in this area in peak hours.
Very good
It has no relation with Kerala. Staffs were Pakistani. No one even spoke Malayalam. Dishes were so non genuine. Itβs clearly trying to bring people in using the branding of Kerala. Food tastes bad. They can fake foreigners but not Indians with it.
Food authentic South Indian food! Warm host and tea to welcome all! Decor to keep the look!
The only place in Munich for South Indian food. Delicious, fresh food, good service. Will definitely return.
Lovely food. Check the Kerala Paroota.
The best place in Munich for South Indian food..the food is freshly made with the authentic South Indian taste.. feel like India whenever I visit that place!!The staff is very warm and friendly!!
Good
Great dosa and nice tea. The waiters are friendly too. Really nice atmosphere. I would definitely visit again
True South Indian kitchen. Nice location and great value.
One of the good indian restaurants in Munich. Good and clean atmosphere, a very nice and friendly staff and excellent food. Prices are also comparable to other restaurants. Went on a Friday for dinner and didnt need any reservation. Will recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy a good Indian meal in Munich.
Wow!!! what amazing food never had food like this before in my life away from home, very nicely maintain the most beautiful thing about Kerala restaurant is that they specialised cooks from all part of India North to South and East to West. Great experienced must visit restaurant for tasty food
The food is actually pretty good. The set up can be a clichΓ© depending on what you are used to. And the service good, but not great. Overall a four star experience. I recommend the summer outdoor version. Thatβs a sure shot, as the garden is really nice.
The is a great Indian restaurant in the middle of a tranquil neighborhood with a lovely terrace. The food was delicious, exquisitely served and very professional. Recommended for both Sunday lunch or Thursday dinner. You will enjoy.
Strongly recommend to change the restaurant name. Else it misleads the people who really want to explore the Kerala dishes.
Idly and vada seems to be served from frozen state and not fresh, dosa was awful considering the south Indian restaurant standard!
Worst experience. Contradictory to the name and food. Staff were not at all courteous. Just because my daughter was with me, we ate there. Wont go and recommend to anyone. Iam from Kerala and Im part of a restaurant and Im aware what is an authentic Kerala cuisine.
Worst Indian restaurant in Munich I ever visited. They donβt know how to respect their guests. The taste also very bad. I never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
