I somehow have a liking for this zoo because of the amazing huge trees it has and the peace it give to me after every visit. Just feel refreshing to be there for a few hours. The new look of the zoo is decent. Animals have reduced but now the exhibits are comparatively bigger giving a little more space to the animals. Bird cage is my favourite. Penguins are cute but I think a lot of maintenance is needed.
Japanese Garden real tranquility
Nice place for one day picnic. Parking facility is also available. You will get to see different types of animals and birds Well maintained garden. They also have penguins. For penguins you will have to pay extra.
They charge Rs50 per person which is more only to see no animals except hippo elephant parrots and penguins. Work going on there.nothing else to see.bad road inside. Very dissapointed with this. Not worth going. Dont waste your time and money visiting. Charging extra fees to see museum also.they should complete the work and then charge for the zoo.
The Victoria Garden or the Queens Garden i.e. Ranee Baug was constructed and opened for Pubic on 19th November, 1862. This beautiful garden and a zoo is christened as Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan & Zoo. It covers 50 acres and is located at Byculla, in the centre of Mumbai. As per the records this is an oldest public garden in Mumbai. It used to have a number of animals for display and even for riding such as horse, elephant and camel. Unfortunately its charm as a garden exists, whereas the animals are almost extinct as various construction is undergoing. The public ride of animals is nowhere and instead of natural animals their look-a-likes have been placed at a number of places.
Worst place to be shows our progress if a city like mumbai can’t have a decent zoo i dont know wat good this state level govt is
