This is best place for authentic andra style cusine. Food place to take your families and friends if you are looking for south food.Hospitality of this place is 10/10. They are so proud of the dishes they serve with happiness. Rajesh hosted us very well with explaining each dishes to me.Specialties which you should try:Chicken-65(this one is best) , andra kodi vepudu, andhra pepper chicken and curry leaf pannerAlso the Hyderabadi Biryani which is the best. The service is very quick with reasonable pricing. In dessert they have this payasam which is very famous in south. Do try it for sure. Also yes, with taking care of all the covid-19 protocol this is a safe place to dine-in.

Aavakay serves traditional Andhra food. Mumbai rarely has such restaurants, and trust me, this is the best place to have a variety of andhra dishes like starters, soup, main course, etc.We had the following vegetarian dishes -Soup - Miriyala rasamWe started with Miriyala Rasam that is the Pepper rasam. It is known to be an essential part of Andhra Cuisine. It is a mildly spicy but very comforting to start the meal with.Starter -Mirapakay bhajji - It is the Mirchi Bhajji that is slit and stuffed with onion, tomato and traditional masala. This was very delicious and a hit on our table.Curry leaf paneer - Cubes of Paneer are tossed in mildly spiced curry leaf masala. Tastes superb. Never had such a delicious paneer starter.Masala vada - it is a crispy fried andhra snack made with chana dal and spices.Main course veg -Mixed veg talimpu with Parotta - Andhra Style Mixed veg that is lightly spiced. Tastes super good.gutti vankaya kura with Parotta - It is an Andhra style spicy curry made with small brinjal in a peanut-coconut gravy. It was well prepared and tasted really delicious.Veg aavakay biryani - It is basically a pickled biryani that is very Flavorful. It was a little extra spicy for my tastebud, but people who love spicy food might love this. For Dessert we had Paruppu payasam that is a moong dal payasam. Tastes super good.Overall, Portion sizes of all the dishes are perfect to serve 2-3 people. The most I loved here were their starters and the biryani. They also serve Thali Meals which are quite popular.

Been here yesterday for lunch as its been a quiet a while I have had Andhra cuisine. Aavakay was the one I found on zomato serving authentic Andhra food. The restaurant has cosy atmosphere with comfy couches to sit and dine. The menu is extensive which has 60-70% authentic Andhra Pradesh cuisine and rest 30% covering regular dishes. In drinks we had watermelon based drink which was drink of the day. It was watermelon and milk mix having mild sweetened flavor to it which was super refreshing. In appetizers we had chicken 65 which was absolute delight! Made with perfection and having all the necessary elements like curry leaves, garlic and Andhra spices. Loved it and its a must try. Also tried their kaju kodi pakoda which was a dry starter having succulent pieces of chicken and whole cashew fried with spicy coating. This one was something unique and I havent tried before.Moving towards mains, we had their signature Andhra kodi kurma gravy which was cashew based curry having thick and rich texture to it having tender chicken pieces in it which was generous in proportion. It went perfectly with their malabar roti and paneer paratha, would like to add on that the paneer paratha we had was probably one of the best I could remember offlate. To sum up our meal, we had payassam which was roasted moong dal payassam having fine texture like a payassam should have, also the desserts served here are made only with jaggery which again was a plus I would say as it brings great aroma and great taste indeed.Manager rajesh took good care of us and helped us deciding our dishes and kudos to the staff for being attentive. The place is pure delight for Andhra food lovers as the name of the restaurant also suggests and its a must try indeed if you are hunting anything similar around kandivali.

My search and hunger for Andhra Meals in Mumbai helped me discover Aavakay. But sadly I must continue to look around. Cause this did not match up to any expectations I had. The taste of the food only left me disappointed and hungry for more. The flavours were missing a certain punch that cannot be described in words. I wish I could point out exactly what was missing, but unable to do so.Sadly, the big bad foodie left feeling hungry and disappointed.

Missing Andhra Pradesh ? Go here! Folks from Vizag and Hyderabad have come together to bring native Andhra Pradesh delicacies to you. I don’t know a place elsewhere in Mumbai to go have Andhra food. The staff helps you chose a dish based on your likings. After a heavy meal I had their local specialty called Putharekulu. It’s a sweet made of fine rice foil wrap with jaggery and desi ghee inside which melts in your mouth and I bet you haven’t had a sweet like that anywhere in Mumbai.P.S it’s flown away from Hyderabad so you know what I’m talking about.

Aavakay is an authentic South Indian restaurant which caters to andhra cuisine. Its located in the interiors of Kandivali. The food is yummy and spicy at thej same time. We tried their authentic andhra cusine and loved it. First we tried their Mattour Soup one by two which was extremely delicious. Their starters were equally yum and delicious if you are someone who likes spicy stuffs you are going to love it . Andhra kaju kodi pakoda is made with kaju and it is really very spicy . Andhra Deper Chicken is another dish which is actually very famous and this is amazing! Malabar paratha with Andhra kodi igaru is an amazing combination. The chicken chunks are extremely soft and sizzling. We ended the meal with pappu paysam this payasam completely reminds the essence of Andhra!

This place has something unique about its ambience and food. The seating is so comfortable and, the place is cosy to spend a good time with your family and friends. The lights were dim and background music soft and peaceful. The food:1)The blue lagoon: It was the refreshing welcome drink, it had basil seeds in it. The taste of it was sweet and sour.2)Chicken 65:Deep-fried chicken marinated with onion, ginger and yoghurt. It was medium spicy and, chicken chunks were soft and juicy.3) Andhra Pepper Chicken:This dish is made by marinating chicken with pepper, curry leaves and coriander. It was again a quality starter in Andhra style and worth having it.4)Andhra Style Biryani: The traditional Andhra style biryani with aromatic taste. The medium spicy chicken gravy topped with basmati and the quantity was enough for two people to have it. It is served with raita which enhances the taste of the biryani.5) Paruppu Payasam: Lentil with jaggery, rice and milk. It is really, good to have it but again too heavy to complete it.The overall experience of visiting this place is amazing.Worth visiting this place.

I feel so bad that why haven’t I discovered this treasure earlier and what took me so long to get here !!!! This is indeed a heaven for all true food lovers who appreciate authenticity. I haven’t been to Andhra Pradesh but have always heard such amazing stories about the liberal use of spices there in the meals. A simple meal here made me a fan and I can definitely see myself going back here again and again and again all my life. The place is simple but has a kind of a peaceful and calming vibe. There is an instant feeling of getting transported down south once you are here. The team is extremely courteous, warm, friendly and professional. Mr. Rajesh was attending us that day and all the suggestions he gave were bang on target. Almost all of it were a hit with us. We tried some of the all time favourites here and they are as follows;1. Tender coconut mocktail. This was made with vanilla ice cream and fresh tender coconut. I don’t think I have had such a refreshing drink in a long time. Mild on sweetness and could be termed as a cooling start to a spicy meal.2. Miriyali Rasam. We started our meal with a a spicy sour soup made with tamarind, tomatoes, pepper and other southern spices. It was so good and appetising. The pieces of freshly crushed pepper and garlic were outstanding.3. Stuffed mirapakay baji. Next was the Crispy stuffed mirchi fritters with onions, tomatoes, lemon juice & red chilli powder. This was bhajiyas which were not spicy nor mild. Had a nice chatpata flavour.4. Paneer 65. We were hesitant for a paneer dish here but we were highly recommended this. It was Crispy deep fried paneer prepared in onion, ginger curry leaf and yogurt base. It was like a burst of flavours in our mouth.5. Mix veg Talimpu. This was the best Maincourse I have ever had with a malabari paratha. It was Mix vegetables in onion based gravy seasoned with southern spices. An absolute must try here. A mix of Spinach and vegetables made is slightly green in colour and we loved the garlic punch in each bite.6. Tomato pappu. Thick dal cooked with tomatoes and southern spices. Was good and we have tried the basic Pappu earlier but a twist of tomatoes made it even more tasty.7. Small Onion sambar. Lentils cooked with southern spices and tamarind to make it Tangy and small onions added to make it slightly sweet. Now this was the other star dish. I just can’t get over this sambar with steam rice. It’s So so so good that I could eat this every weekend as it’s the ideal meal to eat on a Sunday lunch and then sleep for hours.8. Malabari paratha. I must add that this was super crispy yet soft. It was flaky and had a pure ghee flavour. Ideal bread to compliment the gravy.9. Paruppu payasam. Lentils cooked with jaggery, rice & milk. This was our dessert and it was hot and delicious. Loved the cardamom flavour in this.Aavakay, I’m really looking forward to seeing you again soon. I can’t get over this meal and I am so glad that we have such a wonderful eatery just around our radius.

Expensive. I didn’t feel the food tasted anything similar to “Andhra” cuisine. The waiters work there have no knowledge on the menu. The menu had names of the food exactly how they are called in Telugu but it was written in English so that even non-Telugu speakers could read and order. When you ask for more information from the waiters, they have no clue but to go call their “Telugu speaking” boss to help them answer customers’ questions. It was a hassle to spend big money when you have to work yourself so much to order a simple meals. Top of it, it was a simple South Indian meals and it had nothing to do with Andhra. Perhaps, they should first taste how the Andhra food would even taste before even calling themselves Andhra-Style

The service here is slow probably it is the kitchen which is yet to match up with the requirements of the customers but the food quality is really rich and worth every penny I hope they will make changes to their service and make it a great experience it took us one hour of waiting outside then 35 minutes waiting for the food to arrive and 25 minutes for us to eat
