Best place for study. Many books are here for free.
Very nice place to do your study no fees and very useful for students who are looking for some place to studyGroup study is not allowedAnd Saturday Sunday closed is only drawback.
Well, this library isnt digital and hygienic anymore. No one is allowed to use computers, there are hardly any fans working, air conditioners dont work, the staff doesnt maintain cleanliness at all there wont be a single place where youd not find dust, washrooms are pathetic, there is no cafeteria or lunch space for the readers but the staff uses that for themselves only. The ground reality is much harsh if you visit this library. If you think Im lying I can send a video tour of this library.
This library was very fantastic.. Ive completed my Linux certification study... I love it n best environment.. thanks alot SCL..
Very good place for personal reading, due to COVIDE19 they dont allow to take books from library but you can go There and do your personal reading.
Library is currently closed due to lockdown
Hardly 30 mins walking distance from Andheri railway station east or 15 minutes from Weh metro station. No fans for ground floor. Canteen is at ground floor. Timing is too short from 10 to 5:30. Since library is in open space you can still study.
The Asiatic Society of Mumbai (formerly Asiatic Society of Bombay) is a learned society in the field of Asian studies based in Mumbai, India. It can trace its origin to the Literary Society of Bombay which first met in Mumbai on 26 November 1804, and was founded by Sir James Mackintosh. It was formed with the intention of promoting useful knowledge, particularly such as is now immediately connected with India. After the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland was established in London in 1823, the Literary Society of Bombay became affiliated with it and was known as the Bombay Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society (BBRAS) since 1830. The Bombay Geographical Society merged with it in 1873, followed by the Anthropological Society of Bombay in 1896. In 1954, it was separated from the Royal Asiatic Society and renamed the Asiatic Society of Bombay.[1] In 2002,[2] it acquired its present name.[1] It is funded by an annual grant from the Central Government of India.
. The State Central Library was established on 26th June 1947 under the private management of Asiatic Society of Bombay .Maharashtra State Central Library of Mumbai, which is the very first beautiful and spacious digital library of city located at Andheri East towards Ghatkopar.
Not a single fan for ground floor. Not well maintainedFurnitures are in worst condition. Washrooms are also not maintained properly. Timings are 10 to 5:30.
Mesmerising look and structure of this buildingLocation is excellent with ample parking space available. 5 floors of books. Almost all types of books are available for reference. Helpful staff. Well maintained place.Good collection of books and good ambiance for reading and hang out. Its also located very conveniently at the Patto area near Bus stand. I love the place.
Sitting arrangement is not good at all.. chairs are touching each others. Difficult to concentrate on study. Students are asked to sit next to each other only even is there are 2 students and remaining 30 chairs are vacant.
Good place for study.. Appreciating GOVERNMENT for opening free library facility....About staff : They have to be little professional rest ok...Keep it up ...🙂
Get ur id card xerox and aadhar card xerox to attach with the form, or else u wont be allowed inside. Nice atmosphere with plenty of sitting arrangement.
Seatings even tho comfortable but no fan on downstairs and on 2nd floor its of AC sittings but AC not working since more than 7 to 8 months n even lift is not working since many years...library procedure is little hectic that you are supposed to fill form which they will give you n bring stamp of respective thesildar of your residence n submit it along with your ID proof then library people will give you an ID number so that when u come to library enter that number with your name,in n out time and sign on regular register...washrooms are not so clean n r unhygienic...timing is from 10am to 5:30pm...lunch timing 12:30pm to 2:30pm...newspaper reading area is available...for studying its good..group discussion type on ground floor...Male females are supposed to sit differently n even tho phone is allowed in library but talking on phone is not allowed...one should talk on phone outside the ground floor area
Library is pretty good .....but time is very less as well as the management starts winding up before time..... staff is extremely rude n do not cooperate with the students.......not proper facility in lunch room n ground floor reading area..........staff is really very pathetic......
Its good we have library plus reading room facility. But administration needs to pay attention at hygienic conditions....Washrooms and lunchroom should be cleaned daily....otherwise good for reading.
Ac doesnt workToilets are not cleanStaff is lazy
Very close to jb nagar metro station the library has reading space on ground floor and 2nd floor. The admission fee is free but the applicant requires a reference from government officer a unwanted tedious process. Drinking water and washroom facility is available. Books and digital content along with computers are available but the process for their access need to be enquired. So overall nice place for self reading.
