When you are from north and shift to bombay then all you miss is your food here in Mumbai but not anymore! So last night I tried ordering with Tamak restaurant located in Santacruz.Best part about them is they deliver all over Mumbai. What a taste! I never had such good chaat and dal makhani in Mumbai before!I ordered Veg dishes, so here are my recommendations1. Stuffed Cheese Kulcha2. Dal Makhani3. Papdi chaat4. Grilled broccoli ( love it)5. And not to miss their banta bottles with masalaThey offer veg, non veg & Jain food too! Sounds like a package place indeed! You must try if you are looking for a delightful meal.
Awesome food. Amazing presentation of food while serving. Above all price really affordable
One of the best restaurants in all the aspects.Their main motto is customer satisfaction.I could able to sense it.Procs:Quality of food and ingredients are best. They prepare after you order but doesnot take so much time for preparation.Good ambience.Excellent service.A dish is sufficient for 2 ppl.Good spread of varieties.Cons:No parkingOnly six tables so highly recommend to make a reservation.
The best Punjabi food in Town by a long shot.Try anything there! I tried a couple of things and each was better than the next.I started with a Shikanji ( sugar-free) absolutely lip smacking! Why on and ate the tandoori mushrooms and and a few kulchas. The Stuffed mushroom n cheese kulcha with a faint trace of truffles is their signature dish and totally lives up to it. For those that cant have cheese n mushrooms your can try the chola stuffed kulcha with the tamrind sauce,,super!!I didnt eat the non vegetarian fare that day but will try it n post soon. The butter chicken i am told us the Delhi style butter chicken so that will be my next try.All the spices are sourced from Delhi. This place is a totally hidden gem... The seating is limited so book ahead and go early.
Tamak is very small restaurant with nearly 6 tables but serves some delicious North Indian Food that shouldnt be missed.Coming straight to the food I tried..We started off with two mocktails.. kalakhatta goti soda and phalsa soda. Both were a little tangy. Decent. We started off with Mushrooms truffle oil naan bombs which were delicious and flavorful. Stuffed well.. must try if you love Mushrooms.Dahi ke kebab.. a little unusual way to serving here.. creamy gooey hung curd stuffed between bread and deep fried. Crunchy gooey combination and quite delicious.Tandoori Soya chaap.. well marinated and cooked to perfection..super soft chaap. Slightly underseasoned but delicious nonetheless.Lotus chips.. decent.. could have been better. Slightly burnt. Little underseasoned.Chole and aloo stuffed Kulcha... One of the best Ive had. The chole were perfectly cooked .. melt in the mouth..well balanced.. kulcha were delicious too. Favourite dish of the evening.Dal Makhani with onion naan.. yet another fantastic combination. Loved it. The onion naan was outstanding. The Dal was creamy and delicious.Gajar halwa... Freshly made.. not too sweet..just so delicious. Loved it.Jamun Kulfi with black salt.. the best Jamun Kulfi ever. Loved it. It was pure Jamun pulp. Truly delicious.Overall a delicious meal it was. Definitely visit and try them or order it home.1teaspoonlove recommendsFood-4/5Ambiance-3.25/5Service-4/5Vfm-4/5Return index-4/5
Love their stuffed cheese kulcha oozing with cheese. Limited menu but everything is fab.
One word to describe taste, presentation and service - Awesome. We were overwhelmed by their hospitality. Five star service at three star price. Keep going guys. One not of caution, Dont think much about their location. They are hidden gem.
A very unique global twist on normal Indian food.Tamak is a small place with a nice cozy atmosphere. The chef personally visits and speaks to patrons. We stopped in for a quick bite but ended up trying some more. And really loved what we tried. The Kulchas melted in our mouths as did the chicken tikka.Their service is also warm and courteous.Have to go in later to try the remaining items on their menu.
Place was shut for a week. Didnt bother to update on listing platforms
Had an amazing fine dine experience at Tamak. The place was small but cozy, with a rustic feel to it. The ambience was beautiful and the lightings were just right for a date night with your partner or family. We were greeted pretty warmly and were served with ‘Mathri’ as a welcome dish, even before we placed an order, which was quite novel. The menu consisted mainly of north indian origin dishes, right from amritsari chhole kulchas to highway style chicken tikka which were cooked authentically with a homely feel to it.The staff was amazingly friendly and suggested dishes that suited our appetite.Overall had the best galhouti kebabs here and the shahi tukda was to die for!A must visit!
1 of the THE best places for Punjabi Food. Staff is very courteous and helpful. A lot of takeaways happen as place is small. Totally recommended for food lovers.
Superb food... nothing that you wont like here. The best paan ice cream in town!
Amazing food and a great staff. Special mention for Ramesh, Krishna and Purshottam who were soo prompt and helpful with the menu selection and their service!
I was a little hestiantbto eat Indian food for the night but thought lets give it a shot .. this place has a small seating capacity but thatvis the only small thing about it the service staff where well spoken and warm. And the food ohh my god it was just mind blowing they have gulab jamun ka sabji can you beet that the place is a dusionnof north indian food and is so creative and well done everything was fresh and flavour full the crockrey they used wherebfunky and over all would give it 10 stars out of 5 everything was perfect.. keep it foing team tamak ...
Best food and ambiance. You have to order or visit atleast once.
A small little casual dinner set up located in a lane in khar next to the famous Rajesh khanna garden .This place is a perfect visit for some one looking for Delhi food in Mumbai. These guys have nailed it with the taste and use of authentic spices and Desi ghee .The focus a lot on presentation and good service along with finger licking food .Only let done item was the khameri roti ( I have had better ones at old Delhi) rest all items were yum .If you like ur food a bit less spicy pl do inform the server in advance as spices are as per Delhi standards .Server Amit was very polite and helpful in serving us .Meal for two would cost around 1300 which is not bad for the offerings .Place is small advice to do ur table bookings and go .They also deliver food from zomato. DO GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY .
Very delicious food but too slow service.
Promise of good Indian food in this highly rated small restaurant. Outside covered seating with aircon facility. A couple of pages of the menu is quaint but doesnt live up to expectation. Main course miss the charm. Ulte tawa ke paratha was flakey. Courteous and attentive staff that needs more helping hand at peak hours.
Was guided by Mr. Vikram for choosing from the menu and got prompt delivery as promised. Amazing food, amazing quality and amazing service. Kudos!
Authentic punjabi taste.u will enjoy...must must try once delightful
The most amazing food .... the menu is outstanding... however we’ve been requesting simple food during lockdown for my old parents as we order lunch and dinner everyday Because we don’t have domestic help at the moment and they complied.. the food is not only homely but exotic restaurant style at the same time ... the hygiene levels are a different league altogether ... they actually explain how to go about the delivered package In terms of safety and precaution During this covid situation (it comes printed on the package) and they also give 2 mouth freshers... the quality and service is Far better than the 5 star ... I wish there was a way I could give more than the rating above ... favourite Indian restaurant in India ❤️
Good tasty food with nice presentation and decent portion.
Tamak brings a Damak! Simple food done right! Priced right! Served right! Bite size right! Focus and attention is on the food and food alone and somehow the food ends up consuming all the senses! If youre missing all the North Indian food and dont want to burn a hole...this is the place to go!
Best experience ever!! Quality of food and service is unmatchable.
I was really happy with the ambience, service and the food quality and taste. This place serves some really delicious food and the service was super awesome.Though the area is small but its peace out here.Must try there galouti kebab....i loved it!!
I love this place, the food is always stellar in taste and quality. The attention to detail and the personal attention also make it a great experience. I definitely recommend having a meal or 2 or 3 here!
Excellent food. Owner is really hospitable. The mutton appetizers are really good.
A five star stand alone restaurant, serving very authentic and a sensible twist to all delicacies without hampering authentic flavour and taste, a open kitchen attributes to authencity and give inner hunger much more boost before food arrives to table, amuse bouche was served complimentary to begin the meal with positive mind, nice methi mathri pillow was served with chutneys, we ordered for blue cheese kulcha with truffle, tandoori jackfruit kulcha, mutton rogan josh, galouti kebab, dal makhani and jeera rice, enjoyed and shared dessert crisp jalebis and rabri.
Tandoori is fake..... This restaurant needs to get its priorities reconsidered
This place is such a hidden gem. Incredible service, delicious food and a lovely spot to have a meal - a calm oasis. If youre anywhere nearby, you owe it to yourself to stop in (would recommend making a reservation first, though!)
Been here about 10 times now, and I have never been let down. Very unique selection of dishes and top-notch flavors. Highly recommended!
The food here was absolutely delicious and so reasonably priced for a tourist. The waiter was incredibly attentive and provided much detail about the food we were eating. I’d highly recommend without doubt !!
This team is doing unforgettable work, you visit and you talk to lots about experiencing it, right from their ambience/serving dishes/menu/service etc you will be having a wow moment.....A must visit for sure
Finger-licking, delicious and authentic North Indian cuisine. The dishes are presented innovatively and the ambience is nice. 5 stars for the taste and quality of food! Definitely, a must try!
Good Fusion food. Limited seating arrangement. Attentive staff. The owner who is also the chef interacts with the customers.
Nice North Indian food, and test, quntity portions little bit less ,service charge extra 7% should not be charge
Good food. Good service. Cozy place
Worst place to order, delivery time not sure. Restaurant is always late,
Awesome food authentic north indian food , Jai chef was very helpful in selecting dishesMust visit
This place is meant to give you true Indian flavours from its origin.Tamak is located at Santacruz West. Its a very cute & cosy restaurant with beautiful seating, absolutely loved the decor setting.A casual fine dine by Chef Vikram who is really passionate about his work.He comes with very good executive experience from Four Seasons, hence, for sure you can expect your Tamak dishes of 5 star plus level.I was at Tamak for my Saturday lunch and was really excited to try out their authentic Indian dishes. Every dish was a delight to have including the beautiful plating. Our server Venkatesh was so kind and extremely helpful. We tried couple of amazing appetizers suggested by Mr. Venkatesh. Also Chef Vikram gave us brief about his signature dishes.Tamak is open for Dinner on weekdays & Weekends for Dinner as well as Lunch.Reservation is recommended.Speaking about the food - We had -DRINKSKala Khatta Banta Soda - HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDGanne Ka Rass - HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDAPPETIZERSDahi ke Sholey - HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDTandoori Aloo Aur Shakarkandi Imliwale - RECOMMENDEDLuckhnawi Tokri Chaat - RECOMMENDEDTruffle Cheese Kulcha - HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDMAINSCooker Dal Tamak with Butter Naan - HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDKashmiri Rogan Josh with Pudhina Laccha Paratha - HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDDESSERTSJamun Kulfi - HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDJalebi Rabri - HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDLocated in a quaint bylane at Santacruz West, this place is definitely a must visit especially for quality north Indian food.

Very good aunthetic north indian cuisine. Superb hospitality. Personal attention.
This turned out to be beyond my expectations. Fine quality food, very fascinating presentation, and great hospitality. Chef Vikram and his crew definitely seem to be passionate about their work!
Tamak is casual dining restaurant which serves traditional North Indian cuisine along with mocktails, beverages, stuffed kulcha, briyani and indian sweets. Tamak is small place with comfortable indian cuisine mainly focus on authenticity and traditional food.Tamak is located at 6, ground floor, Ahiya Apartments, 16th Road, Main Avenue, Behind Rajesh Khana Garden, Santacruz West, Mumbai. Before visiting Tamak, make sure your are making prior reservation. Since place is small, so theres always waiting. We visited here for having dinner with friends, we had Shikanji and Jaljeera along with Smoked Chicken Tikka Kulcha, Tandoori Jheenga Lehsuni and Highway Chicken Tikka in appetizers. All the mocktails and appetizers were amazing. In main course we had Ambala Chicken Curry with Pudina Laccha Paratha & Pyaaz ki Tandoori Roti and steamed rice. In Desserts we had Casatta and Paan Ice-creams.Overall Tamak is nice place to have dinner or lunch with your team, make reservations before visiting which will make your experience more amazing. Yes! Service department needs to improve much. Rest everything is on point
What an amazing place to eat in Mumbai. The presentation is super and the chef personally makes sure each and every dish is served with great care. Thanks Tamak.
Super food... but the ambience could be disturbing with a small seating place and tables too close for comfort and if you have in a large group when you are there the peace and pleasure of having lovely food could go for a toss... but a big thumbs up for the food. The chef who also is the owner gives personal attention to every guest...do not miss their dahi tokri chat and the pan ice cream!!
Had the galouti kebab, shahi paneer and langar tarkari. Superb meal.
Service is phenomenal. Food is superb. Desserts are okay
U will get the best service here.. staff is very polite. Food is very tasty 😋. U must try their Paan ice cream and Jaamun ice cream.
Ok so, it’s rare that people can match taste as well as presentation and service also, all three were exceptionally good at this place.Very different menu from any other place. We ordered, dahi kebabs, truffle essence, Palak paan chaat, jaljeerA, sugarcane juice, paan ice cream and baked gulabjamun dish. Everything was above standards. Offbeat things like mirchi ka halwa, kale chane ka halwa are also served, but we were already full 😃It’s is a must go place.
The food there and the ambiance is pretty great and I really feel that people should try it coz its a really nice experience to have
Best place for Soya Chap in Mumbai...
Small outlet, but best food typical dhaba test from DelhiPlanning to visit again
Great food at good prices with awesome service
Excellent food... authentic North Indian food, highly recommend
Best North Indian Food in town. A small place with outstanding finger licking Kulcha and Amritsari Chole, tangy yet Spicy.
This place is a small but very nice place. The ambience and service simply like a fine dining restraunt.
By far the best Punjabi restaurants tht I hv been to in the recent past.Food quality and taste - 5*Presentation - 5*Service -5*The best part about the restaurant is tht every dish has a different taste. You can make out, a lot of thought has gone in preparing the dish. Great job guys.Negatives are since its open dining too many mosquitos and being a small restaurant dont forget to reserve your table in advance
Let me start by saying this place is actually a hidden gem in true terms n one visiting here will surely wont be disappointed at all.. This place is bit small in terms of size but compensated for it being fantastic in other departments.. When we entered out here we were pleasantly n delightfully surprised by the decor of this place.. This 20 odd seater AC place has very relaxed n chilled out vibes n is adequately lit .. Food out here is so good that you will like to eat n eat.. Taste is good, quantity is apt n presentation is top class like that of any five star restaurant.. We were served complimentary papads n masala onions after we placed our order.. We started with truffle cheese khulcha n they were absolutely amazing.. With subtle hint of chives n sea salt they tasted so good.. Dash of truffle enhanced this dish... We then ordered for shahi Paneer samosa n wow what a dish it was.. This yummy n crispy triangles were filled up with really delicious Paneer chunks n it did go very well with mint n spicy coriander chutney served along.. It was very little oily.. Amazingly made.. We then ordered for kala chana shammi n these kebabs were really scrumptious n had super soft texture making it melt the moment it was kept in mouth.. This one is served with very spicy coriander chutney which made experience of having this one more enjoyable.. In main we ordered for rasgulle ki sabzi.. Yes u heard it right,a subzi whichs made of spongy rasgullas.. Fried balls of chenna are cooked in a tangy and creamy gravy while preparing this one n its nice unique taste will make u have this one more n more.. We also had Paneer butter masala n this rich n delicious dish was made up of aromatic spices, cream n butter n had succulent pieces of Paneer in it.. Was very authentic in taste, simply finger licking good.. Cooker tamak Dal disappointed me a bit.. Not that it was not good but it was not spicy at all as I feel it should be n had too much of butter n cream in it.. We had all this with variety of breads.. Garlic naan n pudina laccha parantha was very nice.. Mirchi laccha Paratha was also decent.. Butter naan Paratha was OK.. Best of all was Ulta tawa Paratha.. It was very nice n one should surely try it.. As I was not happy with Dal so we ordered for rice with chole which is not mentioned in menu but they happily agreed to serve.. Chole was simply outstanding, very authentic in taste .. Rice was cooked well.. Overall amazing food experience.. Best thing I liked was these people were very accommodating n practical.. So if u r in small group n if u feel one portion of starters is less n two portion is more then in such scenerio they will serve starters in one n half portion too n charge u accordingly.. Loved that thing.. In desserts we had paan ice cream which has two scoops of very well made paan ice cream served in big bowl n it was very good in taste.. One coming here should surely try their phalse kulfi out here.. This Berry (jamun) stick kulfi is priced high (245 Rs) but once you have this one you will understand why they charge so much for it.. It was absolutely like having virtual jamun n it was more like sorbet so did not melt fast n was very very enjoyable.. Service was spectacular.. Server was very well behaved, had complete knowledge of food served n was always happy to help us... Price wise some might find it a ted bit expensive, specially for place, but trust me you wont regret spending that money.. Loved my experience out here n Im surely visiting here soon to try their other delicacies which Im sure wont disappoint mePS - THEY SERVE STARTERS OUT HERE IN EVEN ONE N HALF PORTION N THEY DO CHARGE ACCORDINGLY .. RESERVATIONS RECOMMENDED SPECIALLY ON WEEKENDS
Great food and service. Surely recommend this place to everyone
What a cozy net ! Awesome food / extremely well mannered soft spoken staff ... excellent service .. well done 👏👏
Small Place but Good Food and Personalised Service .
We just loved the delicious food & desserts specially jalebis are a must to have 👌
This place serves the best north indian cuisine in Mumbai.
Chef Vikram and his partner Pranav have replicated with finesse the food from “Dilli”. The Glass enclosed kitchen occupied more real estate than the seating area of 5 tables, fortunate to get without reservation. From the moment of laying linen napkins which were freshly laundered and not yanked out from a stack, to the intro starters, the papads with exquisite chutneys and chat onions oozed the passion of their enterprise. The ingriedients personally sourced from Dilli. The JFC, the Quinoa Salad was superb followed by Sarso ka mutton and Chicken Biryani laced with delicate pickles, finished with their signature paan icecream and freshly made micro jhelebis with rabri. After ages have been impressed with a restraunt in Mumbai. With their zest and commitment to seeing a satisified and returning customer they are sure to be talked about a lot in the future. The service super attentive and par excellence❗️
Tasty food, fast service, reasonable rates, located in Khar West
A veryy cute little restaurant in santacruz. The food is reallyy tasty complimenting with great options of beverages. Must have is butter chicken, shikanji sugarcane juice. And the jamun kulfi is too yummm.
Very nice small place. Very personalized service. Vikram is a great guy. Guess what, he even made Bedmi puri for me, something I always missed in Mumbai.
The Pan flavored ice cream - Must Try!!!😋
Excellent food and excellent service 5stars are less I love the place must visit

Awesome food. Great presentation and excellent service.
Nice food. Differently prepared Indian dishes. Only 20 seating. Advance Reservation preferred.
The worst more then that
Nice wonderful place with amazingly tasty foodSep 19: What a find! This place is in an unexpected place. Take the lane next to the Tommy Hilfiger showroom on Linking Road till you reach the Rajesh Khanna garden corner. Its a small place and nicely done. The ambience is very welcoming and warm.We were the first ones here that evening. Chef Vikram was there and he suggested the dishes to try. And glad we took his suggestion. From feeling like another North Indian type restaurant to really enjoying some superb food, it was a journey. They provide the normal papad and onions before the meal. However, this comes with 3 types of chutney - in guess what - small pressure cookers - nice.Truffle cheese kulcha are small round kuchas with amazing stuffing and peppered with rock salt. Lucknawi tokri chaat was also good though nothing different. Shahajahanabadi Paneer tikka was tender and tasteful with kasoori methi. We also had chicken tikka for the kid but it turned to be spicy and the chef was quick enough to get another plate which was not spicy - chicken was tender and the taste was really delicious. for the mains, we had the Amristari chole kulcha - just like in Amristar this comes with onions and the special chutney - the dish was as good as having it in the bylanes of Amristar. Please dont end your meal without having the pan ice cream - this is amazing - 2 large scoops of ice cream stuffed with pan fillings. The service is warm and with the chef taking personal interest in the guests.Tamak is an amazing experience with superb food full of taste.
Awesome food.Truly Lipsmacking.
Supreme food.. Quaint.. and amazing ambience...
Excellent food amazing service a great experience
It’s an amazing cute little restaurant with a rich look. The ambience is great. The food here is delicious from starters to main course and the desserts are the perfect icing on the cake. Dahi kebab, golgappas, cheese naan, soya chaap, Amritsari chola kulcha, tokri chaat, chicken biryani, Jalebi, Paan ice cream and last but not the least cheena peeyash. That’s all I could manage to eat till now. You would walkin to see a live kitchen. Chef Vikram has done a great job. The staff here is also very cordial. I would seriously recommend you to visit this place.
Good place to dine out with family
Amazing place for food lovers must trt

My favourite place to visit.
Great experience. Thanks chef Vikram for a fabulous evening.
