Penta IT has a very professional and reliable service. The people on board are well spoken and clear in their communication.I had opted for the pick and drop service which is an additional Rs. 600.The service was quick and delivery was prompt. The only problem is that the place is quiet pricey. So gotta double check the costs and the inclusions before deciding upon the place.
Freud, i gave my alienware laptop to fix it. Fixed it temporarily and charged me Rs10000. It stopped working after a day. Came n collected it and never answered my calls after that. Blocked me on his phone. Be careful.
This is going to be a long review, for those who don’t want to read skip to the TL;DRPenta IT Services. If you’re looking to get your laptop repaired from here, kindly avoid them. I had a problem with my XPS L502x. The motherboard had failed and Dell was quoting ₹ 11,000 for a refurbished motherboard. I looked up some laptop repair services and Penta was the first search result that I got. I called them up and explained the issue, the person said that the board was repairable and that the total charge would be around ₹ 2,800.Happy, that my laptop could be repaired, I went to their shop the next day. They are located on the first floor of a chawl near the Andheri East Subway. Their website boasts of getting contracts from many companies, but if you visit their workshop in person you’ll hardly believe it. I had my doubts the moment I entered inside, but shrugged them off since they were willing to repair it for such a low price. They said that it would take about 2 – 3 days to repair it. Great! Quick service… right? NOPE!After 5 days, I had to personally call up and enquire the status. And when I did, they said that it was not possible to repair the board as the components were unavailable. A complete motherboard replacement would be required and it would cost anywhere between ₹ 10,000 to ₹ 14,000! They assured me that no charge would be taken from me in spite of the receipt clearly stating that ₹ 400 would be standard charge for diagnosis. Great, right? WRONG!I went the next day to pick up my laptop and to my surprise, these guys had cracked the outer plate of the DVD drive! I’d like to mention here that before handing over the laptop to them, it was flawless. Not a single scratch on a 3 year old laptop. And now, my DVD drive plate was cracked and all they could do was offer an apology! They also used a marker on the Keyboard, DVD drive, the touchpad and chalk prints were all over the machine! They didn’t even have the courtesy to erase/clean it before handing it over to the customer.I checked the laptop further for anymore defects before getting out of there.I then went to a different service centre where they dismantled the laptop in front of me. Lo and behold, 2 screws beneath the battery were missing! Great job Penta! I had specifically warned them to be careful as this model has a LOT of screws, and this is what I got. A further diagnosis of the board revealed that whoever had tried to repair the board didnt know his job and had botched up spectacularly. The board was in such a bad condition that NO repair would fix it. Penta’s excuse that the parts were not available was just bullcrap to hide the fact that they butchered my board and couldnt repair it. That’s why they didnt charge me.Oh and they also managed to damage my Keyboard’s backlight LED cable. As if damaging the board wasnt enough!I found Penta through a Google search. Their name comes up as the first result for ‘Laptop Repair Mumbai’ [Not the Google Maps listings]I suspect they pay Google to advertise their names on the front page.TL;DR Version: Avoid Penta if you value your laptop. There’s no guarantee that these guys might nick one of your genuine parts or damage your laptop beyond its existing condition. Don’t let their cheap quotations fool you.
