Rajbari RasoiIts a small restaurant giving you the authentic vibes of Kolkata. The decor is simple, soft music playing in the background and dark lights makes the food taste even better. The menu is pretty unusual and has extensive variety.I would recommend this place especially to people who love Non-veg and especially Fish (Hilsa) .Im a vegetarian and I tried quite a few delicious things.Coming to what all I tried,Mocha ChopIts a traditional highly demanded Bengali snack. It is made from the inner part of the banana flower. It is their unique dish and not so easily available in all the restaurants. It was so crispy and something definitely new and worth trying.Beetroot chopThis is also deep fired and crispy but as the name suggest, it has beetroot.I was amazed with the taste, as we are not used to ordering a dish only made of beetroot. It was sweet in taste and served along with mustard sauce. In main course, we triedBasanti PulavThe name is eye catching and I was not at all disappointed with my choice. This is again a popular dish of Bengal made especially during festivals and on auspious days. This aromatic and bright yellow coloured rice is flavoured with whole spices, raisins and cashews add a royal touch to this dish.

Rajbari RasoiRajbari Rasoi is a Bengali cuisine restaurant. Its located in Lokhandwala, Andheri West. I recently costed the place. Starting with the ambiance, its gorgeous, it has that Bengal vibes. The food here is remarkable. Quality-wise its worth trying. For starters, I had orderedBeetroot Chop: Its the signature dish of the place. It was stuffed well and gave that sweet taste of beetroot.Fish Butter Fry: It was stuffed with the fish and the chef kept it simple.Moving on to the Main Course:Chicken Jhal: This dish is my personal favorite. I didnt expect it to be so flavorful. I mean the gravy was excellent. The chicken was cooked. Everything about it was perfect.Steamed Basmati Rice: Of course, we are the Chicken Jhal with the rice. For dessert, I ordered theNarkel Gur Patishapta: It was made up of All-purpose flour and inside they studded it with jaggery, coconut, and a little bit of fennel. They also play Bengali music to set the mood a little bit. The staff is truly humble.Give it a try, you wont regret it.

So in our passion to try different cuisines we landed up at this little cozy place in Andheri Lokhandwala serving exquisite Bengali food. Yes you read that right. This weekend we devoured on some amazing Bengali food. Located amidst the hustle bustle of city this little outlet is quite cozy with well managed seating area both AC dining as well as outside. I’d prefer outside as its quite beautifully decorated with lush green carpet and dim lights on top. The AC section too gives you the feel of royal old-style Bengali house with quirky decor, wall decorations and over the top royal seating. Overall this is our take on @Rajbari Rasoi:Service:5/5Food: 5/5Ambience: 4/5Creativity: 5/5Food we ordered:1. Fish Butter Fry: Bhetki fish or Asian sea bass fillets dipped in inhouse batter and deep fried in butter to nice golden yellow color and crisp texture. It was served with mustard sauce. The batter did not have any spice so the mustard sauce gave it the kick you need. The fish was well cooked with crisp coating on outside and tender fish on inside. Finally had his Bengali version of fish fry. The aftertaste of butter was subtle and you could taste the fishiness of fillet inside.2. Chicken Chop: This is another local delicacy of Bengal and resembles Chicken cutlets. Chicken mashed with potato and other herbs coated with panko and deep fried. The moment you dig in you are greeted with a flavorful aroma. It was delicious and definitely loved it.3. Chicken Jhal: Medium sized chicken chunks cooked in tomato-onion based red thick gravy and served on a beautiful plate. The flavor was good with subtle spice. It was quite aromatic and definitely satisfying.4. Breads: We had 2 kinds of breads which resembled big fluffy stuffed pooris. One was Dalbhora Radhaballavi which was stuffed with a dry mash of lentils while other was Koraishutti Kochuri which was stuffed with dry mash of green peas. Both of them tasted good and went well with the chicken curry.5. Dessert: For desserts we had Rosogulla Payesh as no Bengali meal is ever complete with a rosogulla. Delicious sweet soft globule of rosogulla simmered in sweet kheer. The kheer was not thick but runny which is why the texture of rosogulla was maintained. Great way to end our meal.Overall had a good experience trying out something new. It wasn’t busy and we had 1 server looking after the entire place but the service was not hampered. The inner seating is a little cramped up is what I felt and little room or less of seating could do the trick. Overall the experience was definitely good.Happy Fooding !! 🙂

Fish butter fry- essentially its a butter fried betki fish, but do not let the minimalistic nature of the dish get to you. Absolutely scrumptious covering with sweetly flavoured fish served with traditional bengali mustard dip. (5/5)Chicken bakhura pan fry- medium sized slices of chicken pan fried with eastern spices and not to forget the mustard dip to go along with. Tasted absolutely unique and yet Oriental. (4/5)Chicken kosha with luchi- boned chicken in thick (almost dry) gravy meant to be eaten with luchi (bengali kadhai puri). The gravy was blooming with spices, a very complex blend that left a warm after taste. (5/5)Narkel gur patishapta- coconut and semolina filling stuffed in a pancake with jaggery. Good old traditional ending for a good old traditional meal. (5/5)

Rajbari Rasoi is a place serving Authentic Bengali Food and if you are a fan of Bengali food then you must try the food out here. This restaurant is located in the hearts of Lokhandawala, Andheri West. The setup in this restaurant reminds you of Bengal and its culture. We really enjoyed the soft and melodious Bengali music that they were playing throughout. The staff and the owner were really humble and helped us select some dishes which we could enjoy. We ordered1) Beetroot Chop - Rolls made of beetroot paste, mixed with crunchy vegetables and spices rolled in bread crumbs and fried till crispy golden brown. These rolls were accompanied with a mustard based dip. Sweet and crunchy rolls along with sour and tangy mustard dip are a nice combo.2) Fish Butter Fry - Fillets of sweet water fish called Bhetki was used to make this dish. These fillets were dipped in batter and fried in butter till golden brown, served with mustard dip. The taste of the sweet water fish is really mouthwatering. A must try dish here.3) Kaanchkola Kofta - Boiled raw banana shaped like a pattice and served with mild and tangy gravy accompanied with Koraishuti Kochuri. These are roundels made of flour and stuffed with Green peas mixture. The taste was really awesome and this is one of the authentic Bengali dishes that is a must try. Its recommended for health conscious people.4) Begun Bhaja - Roundels of Eggplant (Baingan) shallow fried till crispy and topped with salt and red chilli powder. A nice sider to go with the main course. We thoroughly enjoyed the food out here and hope that people will like it as well.

This is the best place to get the true flavours of Bengal. It is easily accessible as located just 3 km from Andheri station. The place portrays Bengla tradition. Interior design, wall decoration, dastarkhwan and everything thing make you feel as if you are in Bengal only.I ordered Beetroot chop and chicken chop in the starter. Both the dishes were just mind-blowing. Beetroot chop was made of beetroot, carrot and some other vegetables. Its slight sweet as well as salty taste makes you crave for it . Nevertheless, chicken chop was equally delicious. Both the dishes gives original taste of Bengal. In the Main course, I ordered dhoka dalna and Basanti Pulav. As we can see the name itself contains dhoka in dhoka dana. However the cuisine is exactly opposite of that. You wont get dhoka rather the dish will gain your trust once for all. It was made in a kofta style and the Basanti pulav was toothsome as well. It will actually give you a vibe of Basant. Last but not the least I ordered patispata in desert, the delicacy of Bengal. It is a sweet dish prepared by pancakes dipped in the orignal jaaggery of Bengal. As it is said that Bengal is famous for its sweets and the dish completely propitiated the saying. over all experience was wonderful and I strongly recommended to all the gourmands to visit the place at least once.

They have big wooden tables and chairs for seatings and  the sweet Bengali melodies every bit of the rajbhar rasoi has a Bengali ethnicity to it.it. From wooden mirrors every pieces will remind you of actual Rajbari from Calcutta.Food was served in their cultural kasha utensils (plates, spoons folks, glass)We tried :Starters : chicken chop and fish butter fry with traditional kasundi a mustard chutney to go with. Both were delicious foodMain course: luchi and chicken kosha ( chicken gravy) it had a thick gravy, the gravy was sweet and luchi which is basically puri in hindi.Dessert: pati shapta (a pancake with coconut filling)So all the food was purely bengali heritage.

One the best bengali restaurant i.e RAJBARI RASOI.They have comfortable seating area inside & outside also.Smoking is allowed in outside.Ambience was peace.Service was very quick.Nishikant das (Waiter) has very good knowledge about the menu.He translate us bengali menu into convenient language. They used brass metal plates & glasses. Here in starter we orderedChicken chop, its nothing but the chicken patty. They used small chopped onions in that and coated with some bangali masale and fry it.Taste was very nice. They are using proper bengali masale so taste becomes more delicious.Next one is chicken kasha with luchi.Luchi means puri.Chicken kasha is a red spicy gravy.Chicken was perfectly cooked. And the desert we orderedRasgulla payesh means rasagulla. On the top of rasagulla they put kaju which looks nice.Taste was like bangali mithai. So overall experiance was greatRecommended 5💥

Rajbari rasoiLoacated in Andheri lokhandwala so yes very popular area of Mumbai. They got both , outdoor and indoor sitting. Outside the tables are little small so I preffered to sit inside. The ambience is done same like old homes of Kolkata, walls, frames, lighting etc. tables and chairs are traditional too.As its mentioned in name they serve authentic Bengali food, they got a la carte and thalis both. Menu got some of the best traditional Bengali dishes which are must try. What I loved was that owner herself was explaining us everything which was too good.I ordered their biggest thali which was maha bhoj thali. It comes with the option of veg or non veg in it so I preferred non veg. thali is limited but I am sure even tow of us would be full from this thali.Mahabhoj thali had following dishes in it-Lebu sharbat, nimboor sharbat as welcome drink. Fish butter fry, fish batter fried flavoursome. Basanti pulav which was really delicious had good flavour of saffron too, basmati rice, puri, Prawns sorshe bhappa which was steamed in kasundi flavour, Kosha mangsho in which you can opt for chicken or mutton, churi aloo bhaja, tomato chutney, chitol muitha which was one more main course, papad , moong daal which was nice and thick and tejpata payesh which was a dessert made from gobindobhog rice dry fruits and milk. The portion size of this thali was huge. I was so full trying all the delicious dishes. Taste wise it was too good and really traditional. What I liked the most was prawns sorshe bhappa, basanti pulav and kosha. One must really visit if they are fan of Bengali food.

The crust is crunchy and it has a good taste.2. Robibarer Barbela: This one is a MUST TRY when you visit this place. An authentic Bengali home style chicken curry. It is spicy and has a thin gravy. So it is best suited to eat with rice. The chicken is in bone and cooked to perfection. A great delicacy.3. Basmati rice: As we ordered Robibarer Barbela, we decided to have rice with it. The basmati rice served has long grains and is soft. So eating it with the lipsmacking gravy was the best decision.4. Gud Tejpata Payesh: A traditional bengali sweet which is a gud based kheer with rice and dry fruits in it. Its a typical bengali family restaurant. The interiors have the regional touch of Bengali houses. They have books of Geetanjali and Rabindranath Tagore. Their cuisine is typical bengali one . The entire staff including the chef are bengali and understand the bengali tongue well. The restaurant unlike other restaurants does not provide aerated beverages , there speciality is lemon juice .The lemon juice is not what we get to drink generally in Mumbai . It is made up of bengali lemons which have a specific aroma and taste! Must try!It serves delicious sea food. We enjoyed the bhetki fish which was served with spicy gravy .Overall it was a great experience . Mini Kolkata in Mumbai you can say

It is furnished with bengali style. So lets come towards what I ordered:Fish butter fryBetki fish dipped in a batter and butter fried it in a crispy manner. It was best dish i liked it. But they served only 2pieces. Which did not satisfied me and my friendsGhondhora ChickenAs it is written they will serve 4pieces but they served only 2 pieces. It was tasty. The flavor of ghondhora was so tasty.Rohu SorsheIt is the bengali famous dish. The mustard gravy was based with Rui fish. It was amazing. But the gravy consist only 1small fish piece.Steamed RiceTo go with both the gravy I ordered rice.At last I ordered Lebu Sharbhat. Rajbari Rasoi located in Andheri Lokhandwala takes you back in time to the old zamindari lifestyle of colonial Bengal. Traditional decor and copper utensils adds up to the authenticity of the ambience. Started off with Lebu Sherbat (lime juice) to work up the appetite. For starters I had Bakura pan fry chicken, and Kolkata fish fry(must try). For mains I had Basmati steamed rice with Chicken jhol. Bengali cuisine is very distinct and delicious. If you appreciate good authentic Bengali style cuisine do visit Rajbari Rasoi. All in all good value for time, money and energy. I vouch for this place.

There are very few restaurants in Mumbai which serves Bengali cuisine Rajbhari being one of them. Tucked away in the bylanes of Lokhandwala it might be a bit of a task to find the place.📌 What I tried:So we opted for the thali to try out as many things as we could among what they had to offer. So we opted for their fish and chicken thali. Frankly speaking except the chicken jhol and fish curry everything else on the plate was below average. And the sweet dish was a disaster.📌 Ambience:Rustic well-decorated interior giving you a proper homely feel.📌 Service:Service is pretty good and the staff is extremely obsequious.📌 Overall Verdict:We genuinely felt that the food being served be it quality or quantity didnt do justice to the price it is being charged. Moreover, the flavours are extremely mild which is something that disappointed me.

Im not a Bengali, but I had descent amount of Bengali food in Bengali houses. Keeping no expectations I went to Rajbari Rasoi and it hit me with pleasent surprise.Taste and portion size were good. Its being maintained by a nice lady who also helped us figuring out what we would like and what we should try to be a Bengali experience. She also made us(not on menu) a mix veg curry in poppy seeds and muster which I really liked, and would like to visit again for that same dish.Betki Paturi was descent, but chicken kousha was a disappointment. As they claim all the recepies are home cooked style so you wont find it spicey.Ordered:Mix veg curry - super tastyChicken kousha - below averageBetki Paturi - goodLuchi - perfectMoong Dal - goodRice - goodAmbience - Could be better, if remove few tables, its really tight.Staff - Excellent(its only been couple of months its opened)Hygiene - Good(has fishy smell once you enter into the place, within 5-10 mins you wont mind it)Place has a artistic outlook to it, with music, paintings, small waterfall and wallpapers. Though tables are really tightly placed. Its an excellent place to visit at least once to try, you wont regret.

If you want to experience some Bengali food then this place is perfect . Rustic Bengali atmosphere and ambiance. Rabindra sangeet...Bhetki Fish Chops - A crispy crumb fried fish which was minced, spiced and battered to perfection. The only downside was the portion size. It was staggering to witness such neutral flavours of the fish that helped to blend the spices with ease. It went really well with a mustard-curd based chutney served along with the dish. Highly recommendedRosogolla Payesh - Because a Bengali meal cant be ended without this!🔷chi kasha ;- this dish waas typical bangali dish .🔷luvhi ;- very soft highly recommendedBengali music is playing in the background it actually feels like we are in bengal.Must visit 💘

Rajbar Rasoi - Lokhandwala, Andheri.A hidden gem in the busy streets of Lokhandwala.A authentic bengali place serving a huge variety of fishes, chicken and even lovely vegetarian food. The oudoor seating is very beautiful in the evening time giving you some positive vibes to spend long time with family. So started with nimbu pani as the beverage there. This was on a sweeter side with a fresh lemon to balance the taste there. In starters I triedFish Chop : Made of bhekti fish with the lovely and authentic spices of bengal giving it a speciality. These are deep fried and served in 2 pieces. A good option here to go in starters.Mocha Chop : A vegetarian starter made of some banana flower accompanied by the Bengali spices giving it a unique taste.Kaanchkola kofta : The best vegetarian dish here in main course to go for. Slightly sweet in taste. Made of boiled bananas round and dipped in the Bengali sauces giving it a rich tasteChicken Kasha : Again most recommended and best seller there. Good amount of chicken along with the thick spicy gravy served. Both of the gravies were accompanied by Luchi - A lovely bengali puri which is deep fried but is vety very light in weight .So ended with the dessert named Rosogulla Payesh. 2 pieces of rasgullas dipped in some lovely kheer/ milk (kind of rabdi but not exactly rabdi) along with some kaju and saffron from the top of it.

Surprising they served the food in white ceramic plates which is a sharp contrast to their Kansa dinner plates.

This place was on my bucket for a long long time because I had heard good reviews about it, and let me tell you, they are true! I am a Bengali and I went with a non-Bengali, and we both LOVED the feast here. And it was a feast! We totally over ordered because I got excited looking at the menu range. We ordered Fish chop, Chi. Moglai Porotha, Kachori with aloor dum, Chitol maachh Muitha, Gobindobhog bhaat and aloo jhuri bhaja. Yes, this was for 2 people! And no, their quantity is not less. It is not too much either. Quantity for the price is just right. We did end up not being able to finish some of it. But it was absolutely worth it. Only thing is that the Muitha that I had in another place was much bigger. For the same price, their 4 pieces per plate were a little small. But the food was absolutely delightful. The decor is so beautiful. You can choose to sit outside or inside in the AC. The staff was just too sweet. All in all, loved this place and will be going back to try Daab Chingri, paturi and the other things we could not try that day!

This restaurant is situated within the busy streets of Andheri Lokhandwala serving the best Classic Bengali dish I have ever tried. The ambience is good and decent pretty giving some Kolkata vibes! The service is also quick as well as the staff are very polite and friendly. My personal favourite is -Luchi and Aloo dum-Bengali’s most favourite dish I can say! Luchi is basically deep flatbread (puri) served along with Aloo dum which is basically potatoes curry with that Bengali spices.Parshey jhal-Bengali’s can never live without fish that’s what it is said. And this is a dish which includes fish, macher jhol which can also be said. The ingredients included in them are just magical that it gives a proper Bengali feeling. The taste and smell of mustard oil is just magnificent.Very much recommended if ever you are looking for Bengali cuisine.

But would also like to suggest the restaurant to increase the portion size of the same. It is very less in comparison to the price. It will be a good dish for people who like spicy food.Fish butter fry was fresh and the fish was fried beautifully with crisp coating. This was served with a sweet tangy kashimiri chutney.Chicken chop was a bit spicy and was properly fried. So this is honest review about how i felt.1)The place was super expensive- Even if the dish is expensive, you expect atleast a bigger platter. The quantity was very low. VERY LOW!2)Conjusted Ambiance- a place that charges very heavy on their menu, youd expect a bigger ambiance. Not so much of decoration either.3)Under staffed- there was only one waiter who had hard time serving us.4) Service - very poor service. Had to constantly remind for water.5)Bathroom- had no toilet paper rolls, the jet was leaking, no soap to clean hand.6) No MISTI Doi- it is the most important sweet dish youd expect to have in a Bengali Restaurant. But they do not serve it. The sweet dish they offer are just ehh. I am a fan of MISTI Doi and many places have their own unique taste for it.

The restaurant has a beautiful Ambience with artistic decor depicting the Bengali beliefs, complete classic wooden furnishing and those Bengali tunes whistling around is a perfect setting for that exotic specialty dining experience. Our orders:•Lebu Sharbat - beverage with lemon juice squeezed out of Authentic Lemons from Kolkata•Dohi Ghol - both sweet and tangy and extremely soothing, pairs well with the food•Fish Kabiraji - best starter, fried bhetki fish covered with a layering of omelette, served with home made sauces•Chingri Malai Curry - thick creamy prawn curry, best served with steamed rice, not a heavy portion but very delicious•Lebu Lanka Murgi - spicy chicken gravy, runny gravy with large chicken chunks, best with steamed rice•Rosogolla - classic dessert and a great choice I think post heavy meal, they prepared it very wellThe restaurant is famous for both Thali and Ala Carte but one should try out their famous exquisite thali served between 12-5 on weekdays. Also do try their outstanding thali being served exceptionally from 5th October to 8th October, 2019 or contact their team i.e. Ms. Priyadarshani to know more, she handles the outlet.Do visit sooon!
