Nice service, tasty food. The thali was a large portion, and both seafood and non veg thali had 1 excellent dish (prawns and mutton respectively), a couple of nice dishes and a couple of filler items (sambar, curd rice). All items have unlimited refills, including breads (neer dosa/appam/ Kerala Paratha). The desserts are also nice

Recently I visited The Konkan Cafe for dinner along with my sister. Ambience of the restaurant is just perfect to enjoy a romantic date or meal with your family. It is designed like a traditional open house of South India. They play melodic Carnatic music which is very soothing to hear 🎶 They have stars on the ceiling to give you the exact feel of sky lit nights. It comes with a comfortable seating area, with intricate design all over the place, using high quality wood or stone platforms and soft cushions 😍 The utensils used here are made of panchdhatu. I am often here for stay, from the check-in to the overall experiance till the check out. A best property by the Taj in the silence zone of city. Very better maintained and its not to mention . Very thank to the staff for their kind service to us. I am often here with family also. This time for business meets. So just booked the room with the breakfast and dinner also, taste the menus from the breakfast and dinner are very very excellent fulfill your tastebuds. The taste from The Kokan Cafe is the Unique and you will never forget .

Yesterday we had gone for dinner. Wow...Thats the word for the superlative Seafood we had at the Konkan Cafe. Truly, it did live upto its reputation. The perch fish, the butter garlic prawns, the kerala fish curry, the sol kadi, the rassam everything was amazing. Ambience- Warm & rustic, resembling typical Konkan interiors with bronze dinnerware.Food- We had the Sea-food & chicken Thaali for lunch & absolutely loved it! They served Fish curry, Goan Prawns curry (the best one), pomfret fry, palak chicken, mutton curry- with choice of freshly prepared Appam, Neer Dosa, Malabar Paratha. Every item in the thaali was very delicious. For dessert they served Kulfi-Jalebi.Service- Very good, quick & hospitable.Price- The thaali is priced at approximately Rs.1800.Definitely recommend this restaurant for sea-food lovers.

The food is over rated. The only thing working for this restaurant is the ambience. According to me, the manager of this place was clueless about what was happening around him.Better places with far cheaper dishes are available all over Mumbai.

Another fabulous Taj restaurant!The chicken curry is really delicious. The thali is pricey but worth every penny because of all the options they serve. The chaas was also delicious.The appams are really soft and you cant stop after just having one!Service here is always great! They are very accommodating and always try to make sure your special requests are met.

We had a dinner and we had a bad experience.The food wasnt tasty and pretty poor, maybe it is because its a south Indian cuisine and we have used to the north one. The restaurant is very expensive.Also the service was poor and we had to explain ourselves and to ask couple if times for basic things.There are just Indian dessert.

Brilliant decor and authentic coastal indian food. I took my 90 year old grandpa here and he loved the food.If you want to enjoy old world charm in food, decor and service this is a must visit place.The thali is quite popular but were light eaters and opted for a la carte choices.

I guess I ordered the wrong meal. The pomfret was okay, but nothing special, and the veggies wrapped in banana leaf were obviously previously prepared, served on a sizzling plate, but only lukewarm (and mushy and pasty)... The second helping was much hotter, having sat on the hot plate for a while. This restaurant tries to cater to a gentle foreign palate, but is often too bland. Disappointing and extremely expensive. Service is good, and decor upscale.

Last week we decided to dine at the restaurant downstairs as we were staying at Vivanta Taj Mumbai.What a disappointment. The prawn curry was a pale orange color with no taste and the prawns were small and half cooked which cost a small fortune. Never again!

The ambience was nice. Visited this place many years ago.Then recently decided to go back - Gosh! Should have checked the reviews.It was sad. The teesri were alright. Passable.But we ordered banana leaf wrapped fish and I must say that it was like rubber. Yes! Fish like rubber. Also the bhendi bhaji was not really nice.So disappointed. Money wasted and zero satisfaction. Give this place a definite miss.
