Not so friendly people. Rude Behaviour. Cooks leave after 15:30, and the restaurant closes at that time. But nowhere this timing is mentioned. They dont even offer a glass of water while waiting for order. Veera Desai area branch is way better.

In the jam packed lane of Tulsiwadi lies a gem of a restaurant - especially if you are Bengali who relishes his food! For me - being a true Mumbaikar, I was a bit skeptical to try out the freshwater fishes and mustard oil preparation of Bengali cuisine. But so impressed I was, after having a feast at Oh! Calcutta. To begin with, they have a well kept and professional Valet Parking - which is such a necessity - in the cramped Tardeo area. Once you enter the restaurant - the seating and interiors of the restaurant are a mix of traditional and modern, to make you feel at comfort. For menu card - they provide you a Tablet phone, where you can view how the dish looks like, before you order.Well, we feasted on a variety of dishes - each better than the other and its difficult to call out a favourite.Nizami Murgh Malai Tikka - Delicious chicken malai tikkaGondhoraj Mach - Steamed fish in leavesTopsher Cutlet - Mango fish cutletKosha Mangsho - Sukka MuttonDaab Chingri - Prawns cooked in coconut milk and served artistically in a coconutRui Kalia - Rui fish in traditional bay leaf and garam masala curryHot puffy Luchi - Piping hot and puffy puriCalcutta Chicken BiryaniMishti Doi - famous bengali sweet and creamy yoghurtRosogulla - needs no descriptionGur SondeshSo all you Mumbaikars, if you want a taste of Bengal, you dont need to travel all the way to Kolkata. You have right here in Mumbai - Oh Calcutta!

Food was excellent as was the service and ambience. I ordered the Fish Tikka and to be honest, it was the best fish Ive ever had. Loved the tomato and mustard sauce too. 4 star because I found it a tad overpriced. I was charged 10% service tax and the combined bill was taxed separately. Pointed this out to the manager.

Bengali food at its best.A very nice and different place when it comes to food. Comfortable warm seating.Must Try - non veg bengali thali, fish fry, kosha maangshoo and luchi, prawn cutlet, hilsa, chaler payesh.Food - 👌👌👌👌You can experience the perfect bengali cuisine.Must try for Non-Veg lovers, though veg also has good variety. Food presentation was nice.Service - 👌👌👌👌The staff is very polite and well trained. Service was very quick and proper.Ambience - 👌👌Ambience is warm lighting with comfortable seating for couples, family of larger groups of 15-20. Very spacious.Very popular place for bengali or people who love bengali food ,10-15 mins waiting during weekend. But you can book a table earlier.Pricing is worth the food and overall service they provide.Overall would suggest you to visit this place.

The prices are not for a mid ranger. Liked the ambience and the decor. They try to ensure that the food is as authentic as possible. Have visited their outlet in Bengaluru as well. Those wall paintings and photos from the streets of the city of joy will get you soaked in the vibe of this eastern city. A nice place to hang around if you dont bother shelling out money.Enjoyed the Daab Chingri and a Bengali sweet. The food might not go well with the average Indian taste bud which is obsessed with spicy feast. But it is a welcome change to feast in on their offerings which goes easy on your tummy.

Walking into restaurant specializing in Bengali cuisine always has expectations and this one certainly lived up to it. Mochar chop and Kakra Chingri Bhapa (crab prawn mix served on a banana leaf) were delicious starters. Luchi with cholar dal, Dhokar dalna with rice were no less delicious than the very tasty Daaber Torkari(vegetable mix in coconut sauce) which also went for a takeaway order;) finishing with Mochar Ghanto and the sumptuous boneless Hilsa bhapa curry. Bhapa Sondesh and the interesting Nalen gurer Icecream for desserts topped it all. Lengcha got served on the house:)Also buffet option available. Prompt service. Clean washroom. Accepts card. Valet parking available. Busy on weekends.

Well this place presently surprised me. However this time went with an Bengali friend who spoke in the local language to the manager n orders some lovely dishes. All dishes have a Bengali name hence you would need some one local to explain it to you. Resturant folks are quite helpful too. Well first we ordered n refreshing cocktail green colour with vodka, it was out of the world blended well with what we ordered. Then we had a fried fish with some mustard sauce dip amazing then some Puri with Mutton sukka n dum aloo, then the famous fish baked in the mustard gravy n cooked. Then some sweet Bengali local rice fully mixed well with dry fruit n ghee. Next time will come n try the Biryani. Followed with more fish curry n steamed rice. Lastly we had space for some desert which had rasgulla ice cream n Rasgulla kheer. Overall had a great experience exploring real authentic Bengali food sitting in Mumbai. Lastly it’s not costly for what their food quality.

The mutton biryani was extremely tasteful. The mutton pieces were presentably sized and very well cooked. The flavours were subtle yet powerful and it was understandable that a well balanced mix of spices were used for the preparation. The overall presentation and taste of the biryani was delectable and enjoyable. The malpua was good, not the best i have had but it was a good balance of sweetness and flavours. The tandoori fish tikka was made using Basa fillet so there was no efforts needed evidently for handling the fish odour or making the spices strong for the same reason, but the taste was good.

It was the second time we were dining there. Both times we had a consistently good experience. It’s a nice place for a laid back dinner. The staff don’t hurry you to place the order. They have introduced ordering on a tablet, which helps you see the photos and get a visual idea about the dish. The food was different and good, authentic Bengali cuisine. The staff also seem to be Bengali, very courteous and helpful, if you need their help in ordering dishes. The restaurant takes its food seriously. They kept enquiringly after every dish as to how we found it. Just one dish that we did not quite like, two managers apologised that we did not like it. Against our protests they got it out of the bill. Not the kind of hospitality and integrity we see in many restaurants in Mumbai. Overall a great experience.

CHEATS - BEWARE OF HOME DELIVERY / PARCELSWe personally went to the hotel to parcel food for a small gathering of friends. For starters we ordered 2 portions of Dhakai Fish Tikka each costing Rs. 445.00 per portion. When asked, the steward told us it would be prepared with Indian Salmon which is Rawas. When we opened the parcel there were just 4 small pieces of fish and on eating it we realised that it was not at all Indian Salmon (Rawas) but cheap, insipid, tasteless Vietnamese Basa that is available in cold storage at less than Rs. 350/kg. When I called and fired the restaurant the Manager again tried to bluff me that Vietnamese Basa is the same family as Indian Salmon which is a blatant lie and bluff and only when he realised that I knew sea food well, did he apologise. Disgusting. This place never provides value for money. Fail to understand what cheap pleasure a hotel can derive by cheating their regular patrons in this manner. I would neither go there again nor recommend this place to anyone. We have eaten here quite a few times before and almost always felt that they cheat you on the quantity of the fish as compared to the price they charge for the same. The Kosha Mangsho with Luchi and Chingri Malai Curry with rice were good but again the quantity of the curry was less. However the mood had been set off by the cheating on the fish and we did not enjoy.
