The best south indian food in south mumbai. The waiters where south indian lungi to serve you and they have a variety of chutney too. Should have a try
This restaurant is typical of the eating places in the Fort area. My recommendation is to stick to the South Indian section of the menu. Its fast, tasty, cheap, and has, in my personal opinion, some of the best Sambhar in the city. Its usually packed during lunch time, and you should see plenty of students from the nearby HR and KC Colleges. If youre particularly thirsty, head upstairs to the AC section which serves liquor (or at least it used to).Come here with moderate expectations and its unlikely youll be disappointed.
Nice food, nice tasty food, nicely priced and equipped with nice service.
Bad experience with the vihar a/c restauant.... waited for 1 hour after order had been placed. but other table orders which included only starters with drinks got served ..... it should be only BAR... and not Restaurant.... and the management is not good too for attending the customers.. Sirf Peene ke liye yaha jao..... khaane jaoge to bhuke laut aoge.......
Old Udupi Restaurant. Great food and good bar on the first floor. Women friendly and safe
Love this hole in the wall restaurant! Its the old Udupi Restaurant at Moti Mahal, that serves authentic Indian food at a very reasonable price especially for South Mumbai. Its set up for locals so no need for the toffee nose expectations. Have completely enjoyed their masala dosa, rava onion dosa, Machu vada, dhai vada etc. Ive eaten here multiple times as a solo female - have always been treated well and never once gotten ill. If you want modern ambience, western style eating please find another place, if you want a local joint with excellent food that is reasonably priced- head on down!!
Always the best local bar to visit with friends. More of corporate crowds coming in.
Food quality is good. Staff is sincere. Rates are affordable. Very near from Churchgate station and Marine Drive. Ambience is good, but furniture is old.
Located at prime place, attracts lots of decent crowdThey have ample of seating for accommodating group of people. They have level one seating area alsoIts Veg Restaurant & is always busyBeen here multiple times, worth itQuality food at noMinal priceMust try
Ok nothing great. Mediocre hotel. Ordering a la cart better. Thali is not worth its money. Interior average B grade no proper ventilation if u sit near the door side. Only veg . Good for vegans who also would like beer as they are veg bar and restaurant......
Situated in the town area of Mumbai it is one of the inexpensive places you will see around. It is a veg only bar and hence popular amongst vegetarians. It serves amazing south indian food. Their paneer biryani was delicious. Overall a very good place to have a couple of beers.
Good food. Quick service. Unless its noon .
A good place for fast food especially South Indian and hot beverages. Service is fast and ambience is okay. Food is good on quality and affordably priced.
Food is okok.. Both the curries we order were having same test.. Dal kichadi was..only dal mix with rice.. Not so good for lunch or dinner..
Beat and reasonable hotel is a Bihar hotel provides best food beat service and best staff with most beautiful management by owner.we use to go once in a week.lunch is marvellous.God bless Vihar Restaurant.
You get nice tasty vegetarian food here. Prices are at mid range. No parking available. Due to metro work, access is from a side
Best Hangout Place for College students. Amazing South Indian Dishes coupled with Drinks in upper section. Try South Indian and Chinese.
Nice place to be with family, hygienic food, good servive
Yummy food.. Great Place.. Good Service.. Budget friendly
Good clearance. Heavy trafic.
Nice and peaceful place for quick bite and South Indian dishes. Near to churchgate railway station. Ambience and infrastructure is old and average. But food is tasty and good specially rava dosa with chutney. Alcohol is available on 1st floor. Juice can also serve here. Moderate price. Service is efficient. Not much crowded. You can enjoy delicious food peacefully no waiting. Need some improvement in decoration and other infrastructure.
An okay type place. Not that clean. Ambience sucks. I would be concerned about hygiene in this place. Not recommended.
Good hotel for southindian as well as chinese food. It has a bar on the first floor.Food is good at a reasonable cost.Due to Metro work in churchgate the ambiance has taken a beating but the food quality remains good. This being a decent & reasonable hotel its popular with the office crowds
Nice veg food can be found here. located near Churchgate station
Oh! After a couple of recent experiences in SoBo, didnt expect to get such value for money. Had their special thali, @Rs 190 for lunch and was too fill to eat anything till dinner. The variety in the thali is also amazing. Soup! Rassam, sambar, dal. One is spoilt for drink choices. Then 2 vegetables, another paneer veggie, 2 sweets as well! All in all, worth going back and trying more food.
Udupi restaurant with tasty food, moderate prices and courteous staff. The place has an old world charm.
I have given my farewell party here.Affordable prices.Almost 3 years every Saturday I had lunch here only .Best place for team gathering.....
Crisp dosas and medu vadas in the morning. Always less crowded . Should definitely try.
Best and economical place to have food near Marine drive or Nariman Point location.
Good place to unwind after office. budget, vegetarian.
When it comes to value for money, with descent ambience and atmosphere, this place will be at top. One of my favorite. 🍻🤠🎉✌️
Best place for Idlis. Also has good juice, pakoda and other fast food items. You can order alcohol upstairs the below area is family place.
Ambience can be improved. Food is good.
Some moving items were not available at 11.30 a.m.Cutlets were oily though size wise ok.Sheers had a bizarre taste more like turmeric and nowhere sweet.
Food, ambience, decor is strictly ok. They havent made any efforts to up the interiors. In the bargain, it gives the place a very shabby and run-down look. The furniture is also very old and has not been spruced up till now. The curds and raita tasted very stale. However, the Paneer Paratha was very good, tasty and perfectly spiced. The service is good, the staff is warm and courteous. Service was with a smileIf they take care of these points, they will see a good crowd.
Decent place. Tried onion utthappa which was good. Sambhar and chutney are also good. Over all good one for south india snacks.
Food is good. Need some renovations. And no option for Jain food.
Im from Chennai. very tasty and considerable price.

Good restaurant ,need to work on customer service, and food service style
A very very pocket friendly place. If you dont have any non veg only restrictions, then you can enjoy this place as they serve only veg food.
Good food at good price. Budget rate. Not costly also
Nice quiet place.A bit old furniture but service and offers overshadow it and is a nice place to be.
Nowadays where there are manh Udipi restaurants who have discontinued serving Thali, I think in churchgate area this is the only restaurant serving Thali for those who are office goers and are in hurry to go.
Vihar hotel situated at jamshedji tata road, churchgate at Moti Mahal building good vegetarian food
Nice ambience and good quality but can be expensive.
Inexpensive good snacks and food.
Good taste of food but ambience is same for years
A simple restaurant for South Indian especially. Their Idli Sambhar is delicious though a bit spicey. Very close to Church gate station. As there are many colleges in the close vicinity this is frequented by youngsters. There is an AC restaurant too. A decent restaurant with reasonable rates. No parking facility. One has to park on the road only. Not much crowded. Normally no waiting required.
Hygienic, tasty food. staff cooperative.affordable price
Food is of decent quality but restaurant not renovated for decades.
Good food and excellent service. Ambience can be improved
Good , maintained hygienic restaurant. Good food quality .

It is average priced hotel according to the location. Food is good amd hygienic. It is not a place to chill with friends but definately a good place to have your meal. You will find the varieties in vegetables and South indian. Its special thali is good. No matter how hungry you are, you cant finish one entire thali. Not only the quality but quantity is also at par.

Food was good, set up needs improvement. However it was clean
Good food, value for money and courteous staff 😊
Just good. Need to improve a lot.
Its one of the few vegetarian drinking place in Mumbai. Its also a rare restaurant when it comes to the On The House snacks with the beverages you order. They serve more than 3 snack dishes including a bowl of peanuts salad and papad and more at times. Its a quiet place and a regular hangout. In addition you could order south Indian food as it has an udipi restaurant downstairs.
Reasonable and good veg food
Nice South Indian food After Running at Nariman Point good options
Good food at competitive price
Nice place but VERY VERY EXPENSIVE. Not worth the price.
Good food, just need to improve the service.....
A good south Indian vegetarian on Churchgate, opposite to Kamat. Thalis are not served on Sundays, but you can order rice, sambar, rasam, curd and Pappas separately. Price is moderate
Great place for the everyday office lunch. The dal khichdi and misal pav is great.
A typical Udupi Restaurant. Excellent snacks like Uttappa, Idli, Meduwadas & Dosas etc are available here. Good for quick bites & power lunch.
Its spacious. Food quality is ok ok. Location is good.
